The Sanford City Manager issued a statement today claiming that the police were prohibited from making an arrest in the Trayvon Martin shooting, but a closer examination of the law reveals that the City Manager is misleading the press about the law.

Trayvon Martin: Rev. Al Sharpton changes venue for justice rally to Fort Mellon Park

The Rev. Al Sharpton announced the justice rally scheduled tonight for slain teen Trayvon Martin is being moved to Fort Mellon Park in Sanford.
The park is located at 600 East First Street.
The 7 p.m. rally is expected to draw a large crowd, prompting organizers to change venue from the First Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church to the park.
Sharpton announced through social media that his mother, Ada Sharpton, died early this morning in Alabama, but that he plans to follow through with the rally because she would have wanted him to.

Every time I think of what Zimmerman did to Trayvon Martin and his family, I just break down.
Me too, Majiir! I’ve cried so many tears & grieved for this poor child. This has crushed my soul.
