DURBIN: Romney Has Written Off Middle Class Families.On “State of the Union” this morning, Senator Dick Durbin said that Mitt Romney’s disdainful comments about half of the American people and plan to raise taxes on the middle class by cutting deductions like those for mortgage interest, children, and charitable contributions, in order to pay for $250,000 tax cuts for multi-millionaires show that he has written off middle class families. GIBBS: What Is Mitt Romney Hiding?

On “Fox News Sunday” this morning, Obama for America Senior Adviser Robert Gibbs asked what Mitt Romney is hiding from the American people by refusing to release additional tax returns. Gibbs noted that Romney provided 20 years of tax returns to his accountants, but refuses to provide those same returns to the public. He also discussed Romney’s secretive corporation in Bermuda, accounts in the Cayman Islands, and investments in a Chinese state-owned oil company. Romney’s not being upfront about his finances, just like he’s not being upfront about how he’ll raise taxes on middle class families to pay for tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.VIDEO:

AXELROD: Why Won’t Romney Be Straight With The American People?On ABC this morning, Obama for America Senior Strategist David Axelrod questioned why Mitt Romney wasn’t being straight with the American people about his own taxes or how he’ll have to cut middle class deductions like those for mortgage interest, children, and charitable contributions in order to pay for his tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires. Axelrod also pointed out that Romney’s 2011 tax return reveals that he paid a lower rate than many working families and bet against the U.S. dollar.VIDEO:

FACT CHECK: Priebus Falsely Claims Romney Has Provided Policy Specifics. On ABC this morning, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus claimed that Mitt Romney has provided the American people with policy “specifics coming out of our eyeballs.” That’s just not true. Romney has refused to say which tax deductions he’d eliminate to pay for $5 trillion in tax cuts skewed towards millionaires and billionaires – which independent tax experts say would requiring raising taxes on the middle class. He’s refused to say how he’d bring our troops home and end the war in Afghanistan, as the President has done. And while promising to repeal Obamacare, he’s refused to say how he would prevent insurance company discrimination against 89 million Americans who could be denied coverage if they have a pre-existing condition. That’s because, as his advisers believe, it would be suicidal for his campaign to tell the American people what he’d actually do if elected. VIDEO:
