In that famous 47% video, in one part, Willard Romney spoke of ‘ taking advantage of a foreign policy crisis’, the same way that Reagan did Carter. In the Libya situation, Romney attempted from jump to politicize it, running to the cameras without the complete set of the facts, and he continued to double down on his mischaracterization of the entire situation.
He bought into the right-wing LIE of the President not calling what happened in Libya – terrorism, so much so, that he never bothered to get the FACTS, and got his ass handed to him in the second debate. Everyone remembers this moment:
“Please proceed, Governor.”

Well, after Willard fell on his face at that debate, and the FACT, that this President has been superb at foreign policy, the GOP is at it again.
And, make no mistake, that’s what this entire Libya situation is about.
It’s about the FACT that President Obama has handled his business when it comes to the foreign policy of this country, and the GOP can’t stand it. They can’t stand that President Barack Obama got Osama Bin Laden. They can’t stand that President Barack Obama has decimated Al Qeda. They can’t stand that President Barack Obama is cheered around the world, and that it’s obvious the rest of the world respects him. They can’t stand that President Barack Obama has withdrawn combat troops from Iraq, has the timetable for when it will happen in Afghanistan, and has basically said hell no to War with Iran.
And, they can’t stand that they’ve nominated a clown with no foreign policy experience whatsoever, and who chose as his running mate, and man stupid enough to say that ‘voting to send men to war’ qualified as foreign policy experience. Willard is surrounded by the neo-con cabal that brought us Iraq and Afghanistan, and who want to go to war with Iran. He has absolutely NO credibility on foreign policy, and the actions of the GOP in the past week since the debate only confirm once again why they should not be in power – at any level.
First, the facts back up the President, his administration, and how they revealed them to the American people.

CIA documents supported Susan Rice’s description of Benghazi attacks

The Romney campaign may have misfired with its suggestion that statements by President Obama and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice about the Benghazi attack last month weren’t supported by intelligence, according to documents provided by a senior U.S. intelligence official.“Talking points” prepared by the CIA on Sept. 15, the same day that Rice taped three television appearances, support her description of the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate as a reaction to Arab anger about an anti-Muslim video prepared in the United States. According to the CIA account, “The currently available information suggests that the demonstrations in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the protests at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault against the U.S. Consulate and subsequently its annex. There are indications that extremists participated in the violent demonstrations.”
The CIA document went on: “This assessment may change as additional information is collected and analyzed and as currently available information continues to be evaluated.” This may sound like self-protective boilerplate, but it reflects the analysts’ genuine problem interpreting fragments of intercepted conversation, video surveillance and source reports.
So, what the President and his team, presented to the American people, came from the CIA, and, let’s be honest, who else would it come from, if not the CIA – that’s their damn job.

Issa’s Benghazi document dump exposes several Libyans working with the U.S.:
House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) compromised the identities of several Libyans working with the U.S. government and placed their lives in danger when he released reams of State Department communications Friday, according to Obama administration officials.
Issa didn’t bother to redact the names of Libyan civilians and local leaders mentioned in the cables, and just as with the WikiLeaks dump of State Department cables last year, the administration says that Issa has done damage to U.S. efforts to work with those Libyans and exposed them to physical danger from the very groups that had an interest in attacking the U.S. consulate…
………………Much like WikiLeaks, when you dump a bunch of documents into the ether, there are a lot of unintended consequences,” an administration official told The Cable Friday afternoon. “This does damage to the individuals because they are named, danger to security cooperation because these are militias and groups that we work with and that is now well known, and danger to the investigation, because these people could help us down the road.”
One of the cables released by Issa names a woman human rights activist who was leading a campaign against violence and was detained in Benghazi. She expressed fear for her safety to U.S. officials and criticized the Libyan government. “This woman is trying to raise an anti-violence campaign on her own and came to the United States for help. She isn’t publicly associated with the U.S. in any other way but she’s now named in this cable. It’s a danger to her life,” the administration official said.
Another cable names a Benghazi port manager who is working with the United States on an infrastructure project.
“When you’re in a situation where Ansar al-Sharia is a risk to Americans, an individual like this guy, who is an innocent civilian who’s trying to reopen the port and is doing so in conjunction with Americans, could be at risk now because he’s publicly affiliated with America,” the official said, referring to the group thought to have led the Benghazi attack.
One cable names a local militia commander dishing dirt on the inner workings of the Libyan Interior Ministry. Another cable names a militia commander who claims to control a senior official of the Libyan armed forces. Other cables contain details of conversations between third-party governments, such as the British and the Danes, and their private interactions with the U.S., the U.N., and the Libyan governments over security issues.
“It betrays the trust of people we are trying to maintain contact with on a regular basis, including security officials inside militias and civil society people as well,” another administration official told The Cable. “It’s a serious betrayal of trust for us and it hurts our ability to maintain these contacts going forward. It has the potential to physically endanger these people. They didn’t sign up for that. Neither did we.”
Let’s not beat around the bush. These are locals who are willing to work with the CIA. And, Issa has endangered their lives, and whatever intelligence that we have been getting through them.
He did this because he wanted to give cover for Willard, and that he made vulnerable our intelligence in the region, I guess doesn’t matter to him.
It is a betrayal of this country, and Issa should be out of Congress. At the very least, he, and his cohorts, should be removed from the committee.

Bush literally slept through the warnings of the impending attacks of 9/11/01, even after reading those warnings from HIS intelligence agencies, and some 3,000 defenseless people died because those warnings were not heeded…..not a single Democratic official publicly criticized that grinning idiot! Then, to add to the betrayal of our foreign service personnel, the noted CAR THIEF….Darrell Issa….openly betrayed and endangered the lives of certain people in Libya who have been cooperating with the United States government. As pathetic and cheap a stunt Romney pulled, Issa is much worse.
Barack Hussein Obama has done more to keep America safe from terrorists sworn to destroy us than the entire republican party has done since the current age of terrorism began, presumably in 1979.
We have endured literally dozens of attacks on our embassies and our foreign service personnel over the span of several republican administrations….and NEVER were such cowardly and underhanded responses heard from ANY democrat as has been spewed by that vile scum, Issa!

I have always had questions as to whether GWB slept through the warnings or was more complicit in the events of 9/11. His family is very close to many Saudi’s including the Bin Ladens and have been in bed with them for years. Add to that the fact that GWB’s grandfather; Prescott Bush; was a devoted follower of Adolf Hitler and acted to further the Nazi cause here in America. Too much money and too much power. I wouldn’t put such an act past GWB, GHWB, or many other Republican politicians. Why? because it allowed GWB to take a commanding stance in what promised to be an otherwise un-eventful term of office. It allowed the Republicans to compromise our rights under the guise of national security by passing the Patriot Act (a vile law that took us several steps closer to the Fascist style government that the Republicans really crave). It has accustomed American citizens to being searched, scanned, publically humiliated and degraded by the security measures instituted after 9/11. Notice that we have not seen another such act since that date. Is that because our security is so advanced and successful? Or could it be because one attack was all that was planned. One such attack was just enough to send the entire nation into a state of panic, fear, and vulnerability. Under the guise of pulling together to defeat the common foe; our rights, our confidence in ourselves and our safety, and our acceptance level of immigrants and visitors from other nations (mostly Islamic nations but the hatred and mistrust extends to Sikhs, Indians, Africans and others I am sure). Drawing us into ourselves; fomenting distrust of “others”; these are the first steps on the path to Nationalism, Fascism, Nazism, Dictatorship; call it what you will. It is the end of freedom. A little here; a little there; and before we realize it we are subjects of The State. Our lives dedicated to the success and survial of The State. Our survival dependant on the whim of The State.
When a member of our government such as Issa, purposely attempts to compromise our intelligence structure and acts to sabotage the foreign relations work and intelligence work being done by our President; the time has come to do more than expel him. This is an act of Sedition at least and should be treated as such. His actions have endangered the lives of these Libyans but could also result in the death of American intelligence officers and/or service personel.
But of course as anytime a Republican committs an act that smacks of disloyalty and treason; it is put down to poor judgement. Well Benedict Arnold hung for his bad judgement. Jane Fonda is ridiculed and hated by a whole generation of Americans because of her bad judgement. All Douglas Mac Arthur did was to disagree with his president publically and he was expeled from his job. Is firing Issa really enough to deter such actions by these slimy Fascist bastards? I think not. I say he deserves life. the traditional penalty for treason is death during time of war and lengthy prison sentences at other times.
This was no accident. This was an intentional act of diplomatic and security sabotage by a person (Issa); against the government of this country and the POTUS.
