Videos | The Final Stretch Before Election Day: President Obama has the Actual Numbers; Romney Camp’s Spinning Like A Maytag

By SouthernGirl2 & Ametia

Don’t buy into the LIES, HYPE, SPIN & BS about the polls showing the President and Romney neck & neck.

We’re a week a way from the most critical election in our life time. And what is President Obama doing today? The president is in Washington, overseeing the Hurricane Sandy storm preparations.

NEWS FLASH FOLKS! THIS IS THE JOB OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. So for all the media jackals and the GOP who are already out there touting the hurricane as some sort of political good luck charm for President Obama. He’s doing what Amerian voters have elected him to do. PRESIDE. *Looking@youHowieKurtz

But the also has his valued troops on the field continuing the battle for his re-election to the White House.

Here they are:

Vice President Joe Biden

Former President Bill Clinton

UPDATED

First Lady Michelle Obama

And Dr. Jil Biden

They’re ALL on the campaign trail and encouraging Americans to GET OUT AND VOTE. Why? Because even though the storm is raging on the East coast, there are still multitudes of voters who are still engaged in this election.

So we have to keep hamering it home to the voters about what a Romney presidency would look like:

  • NO REGULATIONS
  • NO INVESTMENTS IN SOLAR & WIND POWER
  • OBAMACARE REPEALED
  • DEVASTATING CUTS TO EDUCATION
  • DEFUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD
  • OVERTURN ROE V. WADE
  • and if the media and GOP want to really talk about how Romney would preside as President of the United States during a disaster; LET’S GO THERE:

And if you want the visuals & audio here’s a video reminder:

Mitt Romney is a politician who will say anything to move our country backwards

President has a detailed plan to move America forward.

So here’s where the Obama camp is at right now:

  • President Obama has a 4 point lead in OHIO
  • In Florida, the Obama camp has erased the Republican stats with early voting in 48 hours (In 2008, it took Democrats 6 days to erase the Repub stats in early voting.)
  • More Latinos will vote in 2012 than in any election ever.
  • President Obama is leading with women voters in EVERY battleground state.
  • In Iowa and Nevada
  • With early voting the president is racking up the numbers in key battleground states that Romney would have to beat him by 20 points.
  • In Florida 1.9 million Voters have already voted.
  • In Georgia, more African American voters have turned out for early voting than in 2008
  • It’s important to focus on the “ACTUAL” voters, not the “LIKELY” voters when reviewing early voting polls.  misleading to count likely voter vs. ACTUAL voters.
  • Despite the Romney camp spin, he is not expanding the map in PA or MN.  These states are not in play for Romney
  • Democrats  have the advantage in Iowa

President is winning and has the MOMENTUM-O-MENTUM, because

  • His campaign has a STRONGER organization, the enthusiasm-  See Georgia-AfricanAmerican voter stats.
  • There is no party registration in Ohio, so any claim to Romney having the lead or any kind of momentum in Ohio is horseshit.
  • Romney knows he is in trouble in OHIO and thus the BLATANT lies about Chrysler outsoursing to China.

The game plan is and remains GETTING OUT THE VOTE:

You can join OFA on the ground and knock on some doors, make phone calls, or volunteer, is here: OFA.BO/GOTV

Why an Electoral Landslide Could be Headed Obama’s Way

As the election gets closer – it’s barely a week away – pollsters and pundits may still be agonizing over what happens on the day of November 6, but the election is not actually on November 6. Rather, the election ends on November 6. The election is now. Millions of Americans are casting early ballots, and in record setting numbers that seem to already be blowing past the previous records set in 2008. Early voting was the President’s strength in 2008, and it will certainly be that way again this year. Just some numbers coming in from across the country and from crucial states:

Florida, which just started voting on Saturday, reports numbers already above records:

The Times’ Adam Smith reported on Twitter, “More than 20k pple voted eary today so far in Hillsborough Co…In 08 biggest single day (11/1/08) was 18,736.

The Miami Herald’s Marc Caputo tweeted, “Miami-Dade early voting so heavy that by 3 pm 14,745 people voted — more than ENTIRE first day of 08 EV (12,000). 12-hour total: 22,625.”

Gary Fineout of the Associated Press, “Leon County – a Democratic stronghold in Fla – had a record turnout for early voting with 5447 votes cast on day 1.”

  3. First lady: President ‘has made this storm his priority’

    http://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/10/first-lady-president-has-made-this-storm-his-priority-147623.html#.UI85yiDyLsM.twitter

First lady Michelle Obama hasn’t paused her campaigning as Hurricane Sandy approaches the East Coast, but did offer an assurance that her husband is doing all he can as the bad weather hits.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy,” she said at the start of an afternoon rally in Iowa City.

“Barack has assured state and local authorities that he is going to cut through red tape and be there to assist with whatever resources and support that are going to be needed over these next few days. He has made this storm his priority,” Obama said. “And he’s going to do whatever it takes to make sure that the American people are safe and secure.”

  4. Mitt Romney Has Been Telling A Huge Whopper About The Auto Industry, And His Campaign Is Finally Paying For It

    http://www.businessinsider.com/romney-lies-auto-chrysler-jobs-2012-10

Mitt Romney is facing intense pushback today over a new Ohio campaign ad that appears to suggest — falsely — that Chrysler is moving U.S. jobs to China.

The ad doubles down on a statement that Romney made on the campaign trail last week, when he told a crowd in Defiance, Ohio, that Chrysler was moving production on its Jeep models from Ohio to China.

“I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state, Jeep, now owned by the Italians, is thinking of moving all production to China,” Romney said. “I will fight for every good job in America.”

The claim is completely misleading and false, and provoked an outcry from Democrats and reporters . The report, from Bloomberg, actually said that Chrysler is talking about adding Jeep production in China in order to serve the Chinese market. Jeep production in North America would continue unchanged.

  5. SHAMELESS: Romney Campaign Doubles Down On Wildly Dishonest Ad

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/29/romney-jeep-ad_n_2039898.html#comments

WASHINGTON — The Mitt Romney campaign is defending its controversial ad that misleads viewers into thinking that under President Barack Obama’s watch, Chrysler is moving production of Jeeps to China.

The ad, which has sparked a torrent of complaints and fact checking, was initially caught being aired in the Toledo, Ohio, television market, though the Romney campaign had not announced it publicly. The television tracking service TVEyes shows that it is now airing in Youngstown, Ohio, as well.

A Democratic ad buy source, speaking on condition of anonymity to reveal private data, said that the Romney campaign is spending $360,000 on television ads in Toledo between Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, 35 percent of which is being used to air the Jeep ad. It is spending $138,000 in Youngstown over the same time period, 50 percent of which is going to the Jeep ad.

  6. Bloomberg News: Romney ‘rented’ Mormon church’s exemption to defer taxes for 15 years

    http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/10/29/bloomberg-news-romney-rented-mormon-churchs-exemption-to-defer-taxes-for-15-years/

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney used a loophole to “rent” the Mormon church’s tax exemption status and defer paying taxes for 15 years, according to a new report.

Tax returns obtained by Bloomberg News through a Freedom of Information Act request indicated that Romney set up a charitable remainder unitrust (CRUT) in June 1996 just before Congress cracked down on the loophole in 1997.

“In this instance, Romney used the tax-exempt status of a charity — the Mormon Church, according to a 2007 filing — to defer taxes for more than 15 years,” Bloomberg’s Jesse Drucker explained. “At the same time he is benefitting, the trust will probably leave the church with less than what current law requires.”

Hey Ladies, I miss blogging. Nevertheless, I’ve been stopping by reading your blog whenever I get a chance. I’m taking a couple of classes and babysitting. Did you three ladies read this?

BTW, isn’t Ryan’s family in the oil business too? One more thing, there was one title regarding Romney that I disagree with y’all about. The one that says, “Mitt’s Lies for the week”. Shouldn’t it be “Mitt Lies 365 days?” I’m just saying!

The Republicans are trying to manipulate the polls. I told y’all that they was going to cheat like never before, but it’s not gonna do them any good. It’s going to backfire on them. The people are watching this election close.

  8. majiir says:

African American turnout here in GA has been phenomenal! Over 250,0000 of us have already voted. I voted last Tuesday, the line of people waiting to vote was long, and the polling place was full. It took me about an hour to vote, and when I left the polling place, there was still a long line of people waiting to vote. This was in Macon, which is in Middle GA. I also read that the lines were super long in the Atlanta metro area.

    • Ametia says:

Hi majiir. This is phenomenol news! Thank you for giving us some on the ground, real live voter coverage. We appreciate it.

Georgia on our minds no more. We know the AA voter turnout would be off the chain this election cycle.

I wish a mofo would try and stop us from voting.

  9. Pundits Vs. Nate Silver, Data Vs. “Gut”

    http://mediamatters.org/blog/2012/10/29/pundits-vs-nate-silver-data-vs-gut/191001

Nate Silver has a computer model. Each day he plugs the data from the various national and swing state polls into that model, numbers are crunched, simulations are run, and he posts the results on his New York Times blog indicating who is more likely to win the presidential election: Barack Obama or Mitt Romney. (As of this posting, Silver’s analysis has Obama winning in 74.6 percent of scenarios.) And for this, Silver is coming under attack from pundits who insist that their gut feeling tells them the race is a true toss-up.

“Anybody that thinks that this race is anything but a tossup right now is such an ideologue, they should be kept away from typewriters, computers, laptops and microphones for the next 10 days, because they’re jokes,” complained Joe Scarborough on the October 29 Morning Joe.

Complaints like Scarborough’s are helped along by publications that have an interest in maintaining the view of a race that is essentially a flip of the coin, and in preserving the importance of their own roles as gatekeepers with access to critical insider information. Politico’s Dylan Byers cited Scarborough’s criticism along with that of New York Times columnist David Brooks in positing that Silver may be a “one-term celebrity.”

  10. WOW. The new Romney ad that lies about Jeep and China is getting CREAMED by the press.

    http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=1657849

ESPECIALLY in car country. Just a sample.

Detroit Free Press: “Not only was the story wrong, Romney took criticism for not knowing better and repeating it without questioning it.”

Toledo Blade: “‘The latest Romney ad, I will grant you, is a clever play on words to avoid saying things that are utterly false,’ Mr. Rattner said, referring to a new Romney ad out today. But he said the implication of the ad is ‘just not true. Chrysler is adding people. It’s made major investments in the Toledo Wrangler plant.’”

Huffington Post: “Where the ad goes from misleading to something more nefarious is in the text it shows. At one point, it displays a line from a Bloomberg story stating that Chrysler “plans to return Jeep output to China,” the implication being that the company is moving operations there as opposed to expanding operations that are already there.”

Wall Street Journal: “So far, the Romney campaign hasn’t issued a public statement on the flap.”

Sam Stein ‏@samsteinhp i asked this morning and am still waiting this evening: anyone have a sound defense of this Romney Jeep ad?

Ron Fournier ‏@ron_fournier Nope “@samsteinhp: i asked this morning and am still waiting this evening: anyone have a sound defense of this Romney Jeep ad?”
