So let me get this straight. The first lady states that her children are a priority. You know the first lady considers herself a mother among many things which is bad according to feminist. Nope women who happen to be parents need not claim that their children are a priority. However, this ditzy woman Andrea Mitchell has the nerve to ask serious, professional woman questions about playing basketball and cards with the president. Andrea Mitchell watered down the very serious important responsibility of these professional women to a game of basketball. Yes because we all know these professional women went to school, climbed that ladder and work hard so that they could play cards, play basketball and gossip with the president.

Mitchell and her ilk are disgusting jokes. I get the feeling they are disappointed that they cannot gossip about the president being close to the ladies. You know they are praying to baby Jesus for this president to have a blue dress moment. Well I hate to tell them this president is not down for that shit. When a man looks at a woman the way the president looks at Michelle well you know that is real.

One dead, one injured in shooting at Bay Fair BART

    Source: KGO-TV

One person is dead and another wounded after a shooting at the Bay Fair BART station in San Leandro Saturday afternoon.

Quick thinking by a local cab driver may have helped BART police quickly take a man into custody for the shootings. What we know now is a 40-year-old man is dead and a woman is hospitalized.

A man who did not want to be identified told ABC7 News he was standing nearby when gunshots rang out. He described the fear he felt when the shooting happened near him, “I tried to run myself. I thought somebody was mad and had a machine gun or something because I heard tak, tak, tak tak. I tried to run myself and hide because everybody was running.”

… BART police say they have one man in custody. A nearby cab driver told us he followed three men after hearing the shots. He was suspicious because they were the only ones walking away from the scene while others ran away in panic. He also did not want to appear on camera.

Pro-gun rallies across U.S. attack Obama’s curbs on firearms
    Source: Reuters

Pro-gun activists plan rallies in 49 states at “high noon” on Saturday to support the right to own firearms they say is under attack from President Barack Obama’s proposals to reduce gun violence.

The rallies, to be held mostly at state capitals, were being organized by a group called Guns Across America that was launched by Texas airline pilot Eric Reed.

The U.S. debate over gun control flared in mid-December when a man killed 20 first graders and six adults in a matter of minutes at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, using an assault rifle.

Reed, 38, has said after he heard Obama talk about gun control on the day of the Sandy Hook massacre in December that he thought gun owners should send a strong message to lawmakers in Washington.

As of Friday afternoon, the Facebook page for Guns Across America listed more than 18,000 people who say they plan to attend events, and Reed said Alaska was the only state with no organizer for a rally.

Meanwhile, gun-control advocates on Sunday plan to hold a National Gun Prevention Sabbath, where they say 150 houses of worship will call on the faithful to advocate for an “actionable plan to prevent gun violence.” People who have lost loved ones to gun violence will display their photographs, organizers said.

Fox News to Shut Down for Routine Maintenance Monday Morning at 11:30

    Posted by Andy Borowitz

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—Fox News Channel announced today that it would shut down for what it called “routine maintenance” Monday morning at 11:30 E.T.

Fox News president Roger Ailes explained the timing of the shutdown, which will be the first in the history of the network: “We wanted to pick a time when we were positive nothing would be happening that our viewers would want to see.”

Mr. Ailes said that Fox had considered shutting down only once before, exactly four years earlier on January 20, 2009, and later regretted the decision to continue broadcasting that day: “It turned out that no Fox viewers wanted to watch TV that day. And I mean none.”

According to Mr. Ailes, for the twelve hours Fox News is off the air on Monday the network will broadcast a continuous photomontage of white people.

“Regular viewers of Fox probably won’t notice anything unusual,” he said.

After the routine maintenance is completed, Mr. Ailes said, Fox News will return to the air Tuesday morning with its regular broadcast schedule: “For Fox viewers, it will be like Monday never happened.”

7 hostages, 11 kidnappers reportedly killed in Algeria

Algerian forces launched a final assault on Saturday against Islamist militants holding foreign hostages at a desert energy complex, resulting in the deaths of 11 kidnappers and their 7 captives, according to Algerian and French news reports.

Reports of the raid –- which unfolded despite calls for restraint from foreign governments. including the United States, whose nationals were being held captive — remained sketchy and unverified, but state media said the operation was aimed at a remaining stronghold of militants at the sprawling, remote facility run by BP, Norway’s Statoil and Algeria’s state-run energy company. Reports from Algeria’s state news agency and France’s AFP, both quoting an unnamed Algerian security official, suggested the militants may have killed their hostages as forces approached.

    Valerie Jarrett for the defense

We read Jarrett an email from a former West Wing colleague who said: “They really just need new people. Everyone is so dead tired. They need new energy, new life, new ideas.”

“That’s from somebody who left?” Jarrett asked. “Well, they probably left because they were tired. I think the people who are left behind are energized. I don’t get the sense of fatigue at all. … So, it sounds like somebody who probably needed a rest, and there’s no harm in that. … These are hard jobs, and people do burn out.”

…“I’m kind of old to change,” added Jarrett, 56. “But if somebody were to come to me and say, ‘You know what, Valerie? I think if you were to do this it would be more helpful,’ of course I would listen to that.”

Has anyone ever done that? She thought about it a second. “Actually not so much,” she said. “Not so much. But that [would be] very different than [an] anonymous quote in a profile. You know?”

  13. Republicans Accuse Obama of Using Position as President to Lead Country

    http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/borowitzreport/2013/01/republicans-accuse-obama-of-using-position-as-president-to-lead-country.html?mbid=social_retweet

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Responding to reports that President Obama is considering signing as many as nineteen executive orders on gun control, Republicans in Congress unleashed a blistering attack on him today, accusing Mr. Obama of “cynically and systematically using his position as President to lead the country.”

Spearheading the offensive was Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas), who charged the President with the “wanton exploitation of powers that are legally granted to him under the U.S. Constitution.”

Calling him the “Law Professor-in-Chief,” Rep. Stockman accused Mr. Obama of “manipulating a little-known section of the Constitution,” Article II, which outlines the power of the President.

“President Obama looks down the list of all of the powers that are legally his and he’s like a kid in a candy store,” Rep. Stockman said. “It’s nauseating.”

The Texas congressman said that if Mr. Obama persists in executing the office of the Presidency as defined by the Constitution, he could face “impeachment and/or deportation.”

Noting that the President has not yet signed the executive orders on gun control, Rep. Stockman said that he hoped his stern words would serve as a wake-up call to Mr. Obama: “Mr. President, there’s still time for you to get in line. But if you continue to fulfill the duties of President of the United States that are expressly permitted in the Constitution, you are playing with fire.”

  14. No, Sidwell Friends School has no armed guards

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/answer-sheet/wp/2013/01/18/no-sidwell-friends-school-has-no-armed-guards/?Post+generic=%3Ftid%3Dsm_twitter_washingtonpost

The National Rifle Association is airing a television ad (and has on its website this four-minute video) that says the private school that President Obama’s daughters attend, Sidwell Friends School, has 11 armed guards. It doesn’t.

In fact, it has no armed guards. My Post colleague Glenn Kessler, who writes The Fact Checker column, wrote about the issue here and quoted Ellis Turner, associate head of Sidwell Friends, as saying: “Sidwell Friends security officers do not carry guns.”

Parents and students say they have never seen one either.

The president’s children are protected by Secret Service agents, which is required by federal law, but that is not the same thing as armed school resource officers.

The Fact Checker, who hands out “Pinocchios” depending on how accurate — or inaccurate — a particular story is, gave the NRA and its ad the worst possible rating, four Pinocchios. Whereas three Pinocchios are given for “significant factual error and/or obvious contradictions,” four Pinocchios are given for “whoppers.”
