thanks for this thread.
what this gentleman has seen in his years…I know he’s just thankful to have lived the life he’s lived and gotten to this point where he could vote for and meet President Obama.
Isn’t it awesome? 107 years old! Whoa! He lived to see a black President and met him.
LOL Cigars and a shot or two of whiskey everyday. Mr. Overton knows something we don’t know.
Thank you, President Obama, for paying tribute to all our veterans, and especially Richard Overton. These men shouldn’t have to die, before they are given honors and proper tribute for their contributions to the military and America.
Mr. Overton still drives him and his lady friend to church every Sunday.

He is still a handsome man. I hope to make it that age and look that good.
Just Wow! 107 years old. God bless him! Indeed he is still handsome. It took President Barack Obama to acknowledge him. Shame on the other Presidents! Shame on you!
President Obama, VP Biden, FLOTUS & Dr. Jill have done more for veterans than any other presidential administration.
Yes indeed they have, Ametia. They have definitely brought attention to the forefront the accomplishments, heroic efforts and brave deeds of both our past and current servicemen.
@vitaminlover. And Mr. Overton still takes care of himself. Even drives to church every Sunday. Don’t see him on the street begging for handouts, like the greedy GOP snatching foodstamps from the hungry to keep their subsidies.
Cool! So admirable!
