Michael Dunn Trial – Day 6

Michael Dunn 5Michael Dunn, the man who pumped nine shots into a parked Dodge Durango full of teenage boys, killing 17-year-old Jordan Davis after a dispute over the kids’ loud music, took the stand Tuesday in his defense, telling the jury, “I thought I was going to be killed.”

Dunn, 47, claimed that he saw what he believed was the barrel of a shotgun, which prompted him to start firing. Police found no weapon in the teens’ SUV.

Also been swirling around the case are letters believed to have been written by Dunn while in prison awaiting his trial.

According to several news outlets, Dunn, who is on trial for first-degree murder for the November 2012 shooting of Jordan, wrote letters to family members, friends and others claiming that he was being treated unfairly by the media and that the court system was biased toward blacks. In a letter to his daughter about “thugs,” he wrote, “This may sound a bit radical but if more people would arm themselves and kill these **** idiots when they’re threatening you, eventually they may take the hint and change their behavior,” WTEV News reports.

  1. I’m back! No verdict yet?

    • Liza says:

Hey, SG2. The jury quit for the day awhile ago. Will be looking at surveillance video tomorrow morning. Surveillance is from Gate the night of the shooting. The jury wants to see all the different angles taken by surveillance cameras that night.

I’m not even going to try to guess what it means.

      • They’d better not come back with no damn mess!

      • Liza says:

Most of the comments I read are fairly optimistic.

As God is my witness, I do not see any way that reasonable people would not conclude that Dunn has lied about absolutely everything. They need to convict the bastard and get on with it.

If the video request is about being careful, leaving no stone unturned, then I suppose that’s okay. I’m just not sure what they think they might see or hear that the cops and prosecutors missed. I only hope that all we’re talking about is someone wanting to make sure, not someone looking for a way to let Dunn walk. I don’t know what to think, obviously, but I I would have voted guilty on all counts as charged based on evidence put forth at the trial.

      • Now I’m going to be worried all night. This is not good for my health.

      • Liza,

If the jury comes back with a “not guilty” verdict then Florida might as well hang a sign that says “kill the niggas” and you’ll walk!

      • Liza says:

Yeah, I know. We keep waiting for the day when the American justice system that is mostly controlled by whites finally acknowledges that the lives of black and other non-white people are equal before the law. Not just on paper but in reality. We keep waiting for that case that will be the tipping point, now it is 2014 and we still haven’t had it. And then we go backwards with cases like Zimmerman.

Try not to worry. I sense that public sentiment is largely against Dunn and that has to say something about the jury. It seems likely that Dunn will end up with a conviction and will be in prison for a long time. But this isn’t science, it is 12 people and we have to live for awhile with the uncertainty of what they will decide.

I am praying that those people do what is right.

      • I’ll try but I know it’ll be a restless night. Imagine what those poor parents are feeling? It’s devastating to have someone kill your child & the guilty walks away with no consequences. Look at the Martins…no child & no justice. It’s deep wounds that will last a lifetime.

  2. Ametia says:

The jury has asked to see the surveilence video again.

  3. Liza says:

John Guy closing rebuttal. He’s good here:

  4. I have to leave but I don’t want to miss the verdict if it comes early.

  5. Ametia says:

The verdict should be FIRST DEGREE MURDER.

  6. The Dunn case is on official verdict watch.

  7. Judge Healey announced the 4 alternates on the jury. Alternate Jurors are 13,14, 15 & 16.

  8. Ametia says:

Judge Healey said there are 5 verdict forms.

  9. Ametia says:

The foreperson had better not be a BULLY.

  10. Ametia says:

    Is the jury being sequesterd?

  11. Ametia says:

Did the witness have an accurate memory? Well if Strolla tried to use Rhonda’s anxiety and use of meds to allay it counts…

  12. Ametia says:

Dunn flat out sprayed that Durango with bullets. He went APESHIT and murdered Jordan Davis.

  13. Ametia says:

Judge Healey is giving jury instructions.

  14. That weapon is MAGIC! POOF! And it’s GONE! Never to be seen again.

    • racerrodig says:

Funny how the only one who saw it is the only one who would benefit from seeing it.
      Wait….I see a pattern here……
Moron O’ Mara and Strolla kind of want us to believe they hand weapons out to all black teens down there in the gunshine state. Is it a lottery, pot luck ??

  15. Strolla now focusing on justifiable use of deadly force.

  16. Please let this be over with and into the hands of the jury. I’ve had enough of this lying liar–>STROLLA!

    • Liza says:

The bullet trajectories and the Medical Examiner’s testimony tell the story of what happened. Can’t change facts, Strolla.

  17. Strolla is now focusing on the child safety locks.

    • racerrodig says:

I can tell all the way from here……he has “Short Term Vision” just like Frankie does…..
….and it’s completely out of focus.

    • Liza says:

Except that isn’t what he said.

And the cops talked to the three survivors separately right after the shooting.

Trying to put one over, right Strolla?

  18. Ametia says:

Strolla knows Dunn’s going down. He doesn’t want FIRST DEGREE MURDER.

  19. Ametia says:

Strolla’s trying to find that MAGICAL WEAPON!

  20. ***************************

Liza, where you at? I just can’t…

  21. This mofo here—> Strolla still implying the kids ditched a gun. He KNOWS his client’s ass is grass!

  22. Defense says that the State dehumanized Dunn by simply calling him a ‘defendant’

  23. Defense begins closing arguments.

  24. Court is in recess for one hour and then the Defense begins closing arguments.

  25. Ametia says:

Rhonda said Dunn NEVER mentioned any WEAPONS

  26. Erin Wolfson: “this defendant doesn’t get to claim self-defense just because anything is possible!”

    • Ametia says:

The court will need to cut down a forrest of trees for all the paper the jury will need to write down all the INCONSITENCIES-LIES

      • Liza says:

Maybe someone on the jury can set up an EXCEL spreadsheet for tDunn’s lies versus evidence and facts and eyewitness testimony.

      • Ametia says:

Is anyone on this jury smart enough to set up an Excel spreadsheet? I’m not very confident in jurors these days, especially Floridian jurors.

      • Liza says:

I am deliberately avoiding even thinking about them too much.

      • Ametia says:

Liza, when the judge was instructing the jury not to let racial bias affect their decision, I wanted to scream. How do you convince someone who has racism etched into their DNA for decades to erase it all and see through the clear lens of what is fair and just?

  27. Dunn should have minded his own DAMN business. What GALL to demand strangers turn down music and it’s not on your property.

  28. Another sidebar. Defense wants to break Erin Wolfson’s momentum.

  29. Ametia says:

To be clear, Dunn did not have to plan overnight that he’d roll up to a gas station and shoot some niggas! He fired shots and contined shooting after the SUV pulled off. He got out of his car and continued shooting round after round as the SUV drove away. PREMEDITATION!

  30. Erin Wolfson: Self defense does not let you assume.

  31. ERIN WOLFSON: A gun wasn’t found by police because there was no gun. It wasn’t shoddy police work.

  32. The boys were going to look for girls. Just what a typical teenage boy does.

  33. After killing a kid Dunn checks into room, orders pizza, drank wine & walks the dog. To him the kids lives had no value.Cold hearted bastard!

    • Ametia says:

Dunn fled the scene after unloading his gun on a SUV full of teenage boys. With NO thought of having injured or KILLINGanyone! With NO thought of calling the police. What kind of world does this man live in where he thinks he can just fire 9 bullets into a SUV full of HUMAN BEINGS and then leave the scene?

    • Liza says:

I think I know what happened. We know that Dunn fired the shots, the SUV took off, Dunn yells at Rhonda to get in the car and they take off like Bonnie and Clyde back to the hotel. Dunn didn’t know for certain if he hit anyone. Back at the hotel, he’s already intoxicated, gets more drunk, orders pizza and tries to convince himself that it will be okay, he probably didn’t hit anyone, the kids probably just took off and won’t tell anyone.

But, according to Girlfriend, the TV was on all night because they often fell asleep with the TV on. Not so. Dunn was waiting to hear something and figured if he didn’t hear anything by morning, it was probably okay. He could head back to Satellite Beach and forget about it. But then the report came in on the TV and Dunn fell into a bucket of sh!t.

It’s a damn good thing that someone got his tag number and the cops found him so soon and that he’s been kept in jail ever since.

  34. How dare Jordan Davis won’t listen to his majesty! May he rot in prison and from there to hell!

  35. Erin Wolfson: One of those final bullets almost hit Tommie Stornes head.

  36. Ametia says:

Has anyone asked Dunn why after 1-2 shots, he didn’t stop and move on? Anyone fearing for their lives would know that a few shots fired is enough to scare the targets and they can move on. Dunn was on a mission to destroy lives, and he did just that!

  37. Erin Wolfson tells jurors the medical examiner said the shot that killed Davis could not have hit him if he was standing up.

  38. Erin Wolfson: “This defendant was angry. He got angry because a 17-year-old kid did not listen to him.”

  39. Just chilling to hear those gunshots going into a car full of kids.

  40. Dunn had a lot of hate to fire bullets into a car because of loud music. He deserves the ultimate punishment. Eye 4 an Eye!

  41. Dunn fired 9 shots into the car full of kids, he intended to kill them all.

  42. Erin Wolfson: “Let me be clear. There was no gun in that Durango.”

  43. Ametia says:

Jordan’s parents, my heart just grieves for them, having to sit in that courtroom and listen to how their son was MURDERED.

  44. Erin Wolfson: “Jordan Davis didn’t stand a chance”!

  45. Closing arguments begins..

  46. Court is back in session.

  47. Good morning, all.

I had trouble logging on. Ugh!

  48. Ametia says:

Judge Healey has orders to give to Strolla and the State.

  49. Ametia says:

The discussion is on Justfiable use of deadly force.

Corey: “Jordan Davis did not have any deadly weapons in his hands.” We don’t want the jury thinking Jordan had anything in his hands, because he didn’t.”

Judge Healey: ” He didn’t have anything in his hands.”

  50. Ametia says:

Jury instructions seem to only be complex when a white man is on trial for killing a black teen boy.

  51. Ametia says:

They are going over the wording of the CHARGES.

  52. Ametia says:

    In reading Dunn’s letters he’s declared himself a one-man NIGGA-BUSTER.

  53. Ametia says:

Good Morning, Everyone. Let’s pray this trial wraps up quickly with a GUILTY VERDICT.
