Trayvon Martin | In Loving Memory!

Justice 4 TrayvonTwo years have passed since 17 year old  Trayvon Martin was stalked and gunned down like an animal by a racist vigilante  on a dark rainy night in Sanford Florida.

Trayvon’s blood curdling screams still ring in my ears. The screams pierced to my soul.  But an all female jury  so blinded by hate and racism allowed a child killer to walk free.  They refused to see a 17 year old black kid as the victim.  THIS MUST STOP!

I am calling on Attorney General Eric Holder to file charges against Trayvon’s killer. Dr Martin Luther King said “Justice delayed is Justice denied.” Feb 26th would be a good day to bring the charges! Trayvon Martin deserves justice. His innocent blood cry out from the grave.

3ChicsPolitico will ALWAYS remember Trayvon Martin. We will NEVER forget how the American justice system failed him badly. We won’t stop protesting and crying out until Trayvon Martin receives equal justice under the law!

We honor the life of Trayvon Martin and his family. We grieve along with Sybrina & Tracy Martin and stand in solidarity with them as they fight for justice with a passion and grace.

There is work to do. What will you do? Call your Congressman, write a letter, blog, tweet, email, fax, or sign a petition to repeal SYG laws across America. Black Life Matters!

Trayvon Martin will not be forgotten, not ever. The denial of justice for his murder will be as significant in American history as the denial of justice for the murder of Emmett Till, some six decades earlier, both occurring within the span of my own lifetime. How could that be, I keep asking myself, will I live to see this change? Is this really the 21st century? A black kid can’t walk to the store and make it back home alive?

I won’t ever forget the verdict, not guilty, the shock and then the anger. Until that moment I believed that the jury had no choice but to convict Zimmerman of voluntary manslaughter at the very least. But those six women were in every way equal to the jurors who freed the men who murdered Emmett Till. It defies reason that anyone could believe that it wasn’t Trayvon Martin screaming and begging for his life for 44 seconds and silenced in the same second that a single gunshot was fired into his heart.

The truth is, despite the bungled prosecution, those six women know that a child was murdered. But the child was black, and they didn’t want a white man to go to prison for killing a black child. So they let the killer go free, not wanting to be the ones to set the precedent there in the Deep South, that black life is as valuable as white life.

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Today marks two years since Florida teenager Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer.

Zimmerman was acquitted more than a year later by a Florida jury on the basis of the state’s “Stand Your Ground” law.

A number of organizations including the Outcast Voters League and the NAACP will remember the teen this evening with a candle lighting ceremony, silent march and wreath laying.

“We are always concerned about the senseless loss of life in our community. There is great value in the lives of our youths,” said Frank Matthews, founder of the Outcast Voters League

The event begins at 7:09 p.m. at Kelly Ingram Park in Birmingham

SANFORD, Fla. —It has been two years since the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford.

Vigils are planned across central Florida to remember the teen.

George Zimmerman said he fired at the unarmed teen in self-defense in 2012. He was acquitted of murder in July.

Students at Bethune Cookman University will walk in hoodies from the Performing Arts Center to the Quad at 6:08 p.m. on Wednesday.

The students are expected to light candles as a memorial for Martin, as well as asking people to sign petitions to get rid of Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law.

  10. Life after Jordan Davis, Trayvon Martin: Shore weighs in on race, violence

Local citizens discuss stereotypes after high-profile shootings in Florida.

    http://www.app.com/article/20140223/NJNEWS4006/302230015/Life-after-Jordan-Davis-Trayvon-Martin-Shore-weighs-race-violence

When Felicia Simmons looks at her 11-year-old son, she sees an intelligent, sensitive boy who is curious about the world.

In only a couple of years, Simmons is afraid others may see Zachariah as something else: a black thug.

“In America, the black man is the boogeyman,” said Simmons, 34, of Asbury Park. “We have to have someone to hate, someone to feel superior to, someone to fear.”

Neither Trayvon Martin nor Jordan Davis — 17-year-old black boys shot dead in Florida in recent months ostensibly under that state’s “stand your ground” law — had weapons on them the nights that they died.

But in both cases, their killers said they feared for their own lives. So they grabbed guns and shot.

Martin’s killer, George Zimmerman, is white and of Peruvian descent. Davis’ killer, Michael Dunn, is white.

Would Zimmerman have perceived a young white woman in his neighborhood to be suspicious, as he did with Martin? Would Dunn, who told Davis and his friends to turn down rap music playing from their vehicle at a gas station, have opened fire on a car full of middle-aged white men listening to classic rock?

February 26, two years since the modern day lynching of Trayvon Martin, eleven days after a Florida court refused to convict racist Michael Dunn for the murder of Jordan Davis. Wherever you are, put on your hoodies, get people together, print out these targets, and gather at the seats of power and influence or go to the public square. Stand together in silence, hoodies up, fists raised, holding targets. Be part of creating a powerful visual image and stand of defiance that goes out around the world.

On Wednesday, February 26, join with people in your city or town. Put on a Hoodie for Trayvon, hold a target with the message of “No More” for Jordan and all the Black and Latino youth who this system views as suspects. Defiantly represent that we refuse to accept a target being put on the back of every Black youth in this country, we refuse to accept the declaration that Black people have no rights that white people are bound to respect.

February 26, make a difference. This action can break the paralysis by being the first national action against the mistrial of the murderer of young Jordan Davis and linking this outrage to the fight for justice for Trayvon. Be a part of puncturing the lie that there is nothing we can do — that we must accept this nightmare. Join with hundreds nationwide standing up to the murder of Black youth declaring that we are determined to stop it.

  25. Mother Of Trayvon Martin To Speak At UConn

    http://articles.courant.com/2014-02-24/news/hc-trayvon-martin-mother-uconn-0225-20140224_1_sybrina-fulton-trayvon-martin-foundation-tracy-martin

The mother of Trayvon Martin will speak Friday at UConn, two years after her teenage son’s shooting death sparked a national debate on racial injustice and “stand your ground” laws permitting the use of deadly force.

A jury last summer found gunman George Zimmerman – who claimed self-defense but did not invoke Florida’s stand your ground law as a defense at trial – not guilty of killing Martin. Defense attorneys argued Zimmerman was protecting his life after Martin beat him, while prosecutors sought to convince the jury that the neighborhood watch volunteer pursued the unarmed 17-year-old before shooting him.

In the days after the verdict, rallies were held across the country by protestors who said Martin’s death was the result of racial profiling and criticized a discriminatory criminal justice system. President Barack Obama called on Americans to “do some soul-searching” and “wring as much bias” out of themselves as possible and said he knew what it felt like to be followed because of the color of his skin.

Sybrina Fulton’s speech at UConn Friday culminates a series of events the university held throughout February to honor Black History month.

  26. Goodman Theatre Tackles Trayvon Martin Killing

    http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/goodman-theatre-tackles-trayvon-martin-killing-22670325
The Goodman Theatre is the latest company to join a national push to stage a night of short plays about the killing of Trayvon Martin.

The Goodman will present six 10-minute works by Marcus Gardley, Tala Manassah, Mona Mansour, Winter Miller, Dominique Morisseau, Dan O’Brien, Quetzel Flores and A. Rey Pamatmat as part of a March 3 production of “Facing Our Truth: Short Plays on Trayvon Martin, Race and Privilege.”

Other theater companies that have signed on to present the works this season include the Center Theatre Group of Los Angeles, The Public Theater in New York City, the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles and the Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company of Washington D.C.

The 2012 shooting death of 17-year-old Martin in Florida sparked a nationwide debate about race and self-defense. George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer at the time, was accused of racially profiling Martin and said he shot the teen to protect himself. Martin was unarmed.

The plays were commissioned by The New Black Fest, a Brooklyn-based company dedicated to supporting African-American playwrights. The Goodman plans to also present six student works written in response to Martin’s death.

Tickets are free but reservations are required.

Just walking home…….just walking home from the store.

GZ filled Trayvon with desperate fear as Trayvon cried for help.

Trayvon begged for his life. He begged, scared and alone.

GZ cruelly ended Trayvon’s life….. separating Trayvon from his family and all that he loved.

And, then GZ cruelly put his full weight on Trayvon as he lay dying.

No one….NO ONE…..should die the way Trayvon died…..alone and by one such as GZ.

Trayvon had dreams to follow…….. goals to give all his love and effort to.

  29. racerrodig says:

You got it right, we will never forget. Those gun toting racist clowns came holler all they want but those of us who can actually think know who the real victims are in these cases. Trayvon, his family and justice all suffered at the hands of race baiting hate mongers.

I’m hoping they will be a dying breed soon and this is the death throe’s from them.

    • I sure hope you’re right, racer! Let them go soon into that goodnight.

      • racerrodig says:

I was thinking long and hard about all of this on & off today. I had a customer who is a pretty good friend in the shop most of the day and we were talking about this. The most stunning part is FL trying to expand the SYG law. So with the entire world watching and God himself looking on and sizing up how this is handled, the state of FL wants to make killing easier than even Hitler made it.

My friend and I are sending out e-mail notices to everyone we know to stay away from FL no matter what. What can we expect in the future?? Is some racist shit head going to drive by a 7-11. and think “..hey, one of them boys is gonna…….” and blast away. His claim of “I was a scared mo – fo” his successful defense ?? Will shooting and missing like Duhhnnn did no longer be newsworthy ?? Will that now be a perfect SYG defense.

During all of this my guy says to the effect “…I’m 65 and you’re 58 and we’re both white and look how this has affected us. It disgusts us what happened and even more so that Fogen got away with it entirely” Yes he did……..Karma, as we say, will ebb into his soul, his very being, then BOOM !!

Later that hour we’ll read all about it, and say “Karma….what a bitch”

We talked about the tributes to Trayvon and Jordan. I’m hoping they have a cool thing going in Heaven……endless basketball, football, straight “A’s” pretty girls, and great friends. Maybe they can play angel to the friends they left behind and guide them along the path of life. I can see them as Guardian Angels. I hope they can laugh at those stupid Fogen interviews from the Heavens and look at them for what they are.

Maybe his friends were so cool in court because he was right there on their shoulder whispering “……it’s all cool…..I’m here, not physically…..but trust me…..I’m with ya”

I still can’t fathom why does some shit like Fogen or Duuhhnn feel the need to shoot anyone, no matter the color and claim being the victim. The best line was in Duuhhnnn’s police interview where he said “I just got done telling you I was scared to death and now you’re treating this like a murder” Pricele$$ !! Gee homeboy…..maybe the police just didn’t buy it. Maybe his prediction “You’re gonna die tonight bitch” will actually come to fruition……that is when one of those, what did he call them in “Thugville” gets his hands on him.

Yep, I wonder if it’s sunk in yet that he spent his last night with an address that doesn’t have “Thugville” as part of it. After all, he does live on “Killers Row”

        • FL is off the chain with wanting to expand SYG laws. They’re doubling down! It’s a damn disgrace how people value guns more than human life. That’s some really sick ISH.

    • Ametia says:

Both Zimmie & Dunn cannot/will NOT escape KARMA.

      • racerrodig says:

No they will not. I’m thinking Fogen will be on some obscure channel with another preposterous interview and blame all of us for his inability to make a living. Funny how no more “artwork” has been for sale.

Oh, that’s right, they are part of him so he just can’t let go. Funny how he sarcastically “thanked” AP for stopping him. I guess the threat of another lawsuit had nothing to do with it.

As for Duuhhnnnn, he’s got a few weeks before the state starts to retry him. I hope the state actually puts 100% into this one and he gets what he really deserves for a murder, not just missing 3 innocent kids in a Dodge. Next thing you know he’ll claim red Dodge Durango’s are the root of his anger, not loud rap…..er, disrespectful black teens.

Racist like that make me want to vomit…….but I’ll aim for his shoes !!!!
