Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” is a Christmas hymn or carol written by Charles Wesley, English leader of the Methodist movement along with his brother John Wesley. It first appeared in Hymns and Sacred Poems in 1739,[1] under the topic of “Hymn for Christmas-Day”. The original opening couplet was “Hark! how all the welkin rings / Glory to the King of Kings”. The version known today is the result of alterations by various hands, most notably George Whitefield, Wesley’s co-worker, who changed the opening couplet to the familiar one we know today.

Did yall discuss the fact that Michael Vick said that a dog would be good therapy for him. He needs to STFU and never discuss dogs again. Play football Vick!
Hi Vette. I read about it earlier, and agree; just play football Michael, your career has already gone to the dogs once.
Hey Ametia, happy holidays. I had not seen the pics of the Obamas from the White House Christmas Party. Did you post them?
O how I love PBO!! Is he black enough now?..hahahahaha
*******************
Twenty-six minutes into his press conference, the president took this final question from Jonathan Weisman of the Wall Street Journal.
“Some on the left have looked at this deal and questioned what your core values are,” Weisman asked. “What specifically you will go to the mat on?”
Obama started to rattle on about budgets and deficits and 2012 and then Wesimann interrupted him: “Where is your line in the sand?”
That’s when No Drama Obama got pissed and presidential.
“Not making the tax cuts for the wealthy permanent—that was a line in the sand. Making sure that the things that most impact middle-class families and low-income families, that those were preserved—that was a line in the sand.”
Obama drilled down the list of the unemployment extensions, the earned income tax credit, and the college tuition tax credit—all the benefits he got added to the temporary extension of the top rate of the Bush tax cuts. This is the backdoor middle class stimulus that conservatives like Charles Krauthammer have decried as liberals
And then he dropped the big hammer argument for faith in evolving toward a more perfect union.
“I couldn’t go through the front door at this country’s founding.”
That’s when the air went out of the room and the president commanded the stage. Rarely does he get so raw and personal. Rarely does he invoke the specter of race. But there it was in a cold hard statement of eloquent fact….

Breaking News Alert: House votes to repeal ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’
December 15, 2010 5:27:36 PM

A progressive’s answer to Obama
By Katrina vanden Heuvel
Tuesday, December 14, 2010
“This country was founded on compromise,” remarked the president toward the end of last week’s tax deal press conference. “My job is to make sure that we have a North Star out there.” Perhaps Barack Obama is right to define his job that way. But in light of the negotiations that led up to this claim, it’s hard to see what he has done to truly illuminate that North Star.

President Obama signed an executive order Tuesday, creating a 25 member White House Council for Community Solutions. Among the members hand-picked by the president: eBay president and CEO John Donahue, Starbucks executive vice president Paula Boggs, and–obviously–rocker Jon Bon Jovi.
How’d that happen, you ask?
According to CNN White House correspondent Dan Lothian, it’s not about Bon Jovi’s ability to “rock the house.”
Rather, it’s due to his creation of the Jon Bon Jovi Foundation, which “focuses on fighting poverty and homelessness and provides for low income people.” But of course, he also rocks the house.
Here’s how it will all work, according to Lothian:
In this new role, the Grammy Award winner will work with leaders from non-profits, corporations and foundations, to help the “federal government promote greater innovation” and shine the spotlight on people making “a significant impact in their own communities,” according to the White House.
Bon Jovi said he was honored to have been selected.
“I have seen first-hand the powerful impact when people from the public, private and non-profit sectors work together,” Bon Jovi said in a statement. “All of us have a role to play in helping address some of our nation’s most serious problems, and I look forward to working with the rest of the Council to help out where I can.”

Obama plans 2011 staff makeover
By CAROL E. LEE & GLENN THRUSH | 12/15/10 4:38 AM EST Updated: 12/15/10 9:25 AM EST
President Barack Obama has delayed the most significant staff shuffle of his presidency until after New Year’s — but the changes may be more sweeping than anticipated and could include the hiring of high-profile Democrats defeated in the midterms.
David Plouffe, Obama’s 2008 campaign manager, who will become a senior adviser to the president as early as the first week of January, is perhaps the most significant addition to Obama’s staff. He is expected to take an expansive new role including running the embattled White House press and messaging operations, people with knowledge of the situation told POLITICO.

Rambling gunman dead after opening fire at Florida school meetingBy Vivian Kuo and Phil Gast, CNNDecember 14, 2010 9:40 p.m. EST
CNN) — Clay Duke sat quietly through the first portion of the Bay District Schools, Florida, school board meeting Tuesday afternoon as local children were honored for their achievements.
When it came time for citizens to bring up issues, the 56-year-old resident calmly approached the front.
He spray painted a red “V” with a circle around it on the wall, brandished a small-caliber handgun and ordered the room cleared at a Panama City schools building.
“Six men stay. Everyone else leave,” the burly gunman said.
Moments later, Ginger Littleton, a board member, returned to the room and swung a purse at him. She ended up on the ground after the two struggled. The gunman cursed her, but did not open fire and he let her leave the room.
Someone was going to die, he said.
At that point, Duke, as seen on the dramatic live internet feed provided by CNN affiliates WJHG and WMBB, began a rambling discourse that included the apparent firing of his wife and sales taxes.
Prolly blaming it all on Obama….

GOP Strategist: Sarah Palin Not ‘Electable For Presidency’
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/14/sarah-palin-sig-rogich_n_796267.html
Sig Rogich, a Republican operative widely seen as influential and who worked on former President Ronald Reagan’s 1984 reelection campaign, took aim at Sarah Palin’s qualifications to run for the White House in the next election cycle.
“I’m not overly enamored with [her],” he told the Nevada News Bureau on Monday. “As a candidate nationwide I don’t think she is electable for a presidency, and I think that over time you will see reasons why.”
Rogich suggested that big GOP names, such as Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, could be better Republican party picks to make a 2012 presidential run. Both men, as well as Palin, are rumored to be considering vying for a chance to run against President Obama.
The critical comments made by Rogich on the prospect of Palin mounting a White House run aren’t the first shots he’s taken at the former Alaska governor. A longtime ally of Arizona Sen. John McCain, Rogich took aim at Palin’s impact on the Republican lawmaker’s failed presidential bid against Obama on the heels of the 2008 election.
Tell it to the MEDIA!!! These idiots keep propping up the Sno’Ho’ as some force to be reckoned with, when the woman is as DUMB as a BAG-O-ROCKS.
Journalism has gone to hell in a handbasket.

Palin: Looky at the smiles on the faces of these black people, they’re so content & joyful. They have nothing but they’re happy and content. Babies don’t even have diapers but if they have smiles on their faces….blah blah fuckety blah. Bye bitch!
The reporter guy: These poor little black kids has never had a gift given to them in their life, so they don’t know how to respond. Gee, some of them just sat there & didn’t know what to do.

Palin scribbles on her hand, doesn’t know Africa is a continent, doesn’t read, can’t name a major newspaper, fights publicly with a 19 year old, uses run on sentences, makes up words, attends 5 colleges in 6 years and thinks she can be President of the United States. Beyotch please! white trash!

Washington area is wealthiest and most educated region in the nation, census data show
By Carol Morello and Dan Keating
Washington Post Staff Writers
Wednesday, December 15, 2010; 12:05 AM
The Washington area’s affluence and education levels make it the wealthiest and most educated region in the nation, according to census data released Tuesday that reflect five years of relative prosperity compared with the rest of the country.
During that period, Fairfax and Loudoun were the only two U.S. counties with median household incomes surpassing $100,000. Tiny Falls Church, which is an independent city and counted separately, had that median income level, as well. Five of the region’s suburban counties – Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun, Montgomery and Howard – plus Alexandria and Falls Church, were among 17 places in the United States in which more than half of the residents have at least a bachelor’s degree.
In Loudoun, more than a third of the households are married couples with children, making it one of the country’s bastions of the traditional family. The District, Baltimore and Richmond reflected the other extreme, with nuclear families making up fewer than one in 10 households.

Senate set to vote on tax package Wednesday
Washington (CNN) — The Senate will vote on the tax and benefits package negotiated by President Barack Obama and Republican leaders on Wednesday.
Senators made speeches into the evening Tuesday about the package and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, confirmed that the final vote would take place Wednesday. But as senators cleared the way for the pivotal vote, House Democrats argued about whether they will change the measure after an expected Senate approval.
The measure received strong bipartisan support in clearing a key Senate procedural hurdle Monday, with an 83-15 vote to end debate.
The package includes a two-year extension of the Bush-era tax cuts set to expire December 31, and also would extend unemployment benefits for 13 months, cut the payroll tax by 2 percentage points for a year, lower a restored estate tax, and continue a series of other tax breaks.
