O come, O come, Emmanuel is a translation of the Catholic Latin text (“Veni, veni, Emmanuel”) by John Mason Neale in the mid-19th century. It is a metrical version of a collation of various Advent Antiphons (the acrostic O Antiphons), which now serves as a popular Advent and Christmas hymn. Its origins are unclear, it is thought that the antiphons are from at least the 8th Century, but “Veni, veni Emmanuel” may well be 12th Century in origin.[1][2] The text is based on the biblical prophecy from Isaiah 7:14 that states that God will give Israel a sign that will be called Immanuel (Lit.: God with us). Matthew 1:23 states fulfillment of this prophecy in the birth of Jesus of Nazareth.

The Tingle Is Back! Chris Matthews Excited To See Obama’s Cute, “Wonderful, Boyish Smile”

    by Matt Schneider | 2:28 pm, December 18th, 2010

You have to admire one thing about Chris Matthews, when he’s got a feeling he just can’t fight it and wants to share it with everyone. Despite the criticism he received for infamously feeling a “thrill going up [his] leg” during a speech by President Obama and Matthews thinking he needed to defend that statement, he is at again, confessing that deep down he really, really likes so many characteristics of Obama.

First it was Obama’s oratory skills, and this time it’s his smile that is the target of Matthews’ affection. Discussing Obama’s comments on the successful passage of the tax compromise, Matthews gushed about Obama’s “cute smile we all love from that guy, that wonderful, boyish smile of his . . . I haven’t seen that in months.” With Obama happy, and Matthews even happier, it’s a wonder that the joyful holiday spirit did not extend to Matthews’ opinion of a certain ‘Female Zombie Congresswoman’.

In what is believed to be a first ever for a U.S. First Lady, Michelle Obama wore a second hand dress to a high profile public event.
Mrs Obama surprised fashion insiders, when she arrived at the Christmas in Washington concert wearing a vintage black dress with a black lace overlay once owned by someone else.

Hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, the concert was taped Sunday and aired last night on TNT, showing Mrs. Obama wearing the dazzling design with its full tea-length tulle skirt.
