Carlos Augusto Alves Santana (born July 20, 1947) is a Mexican American[1] rock guitarist. Santana became famous in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band, Santana, which pioneered rock, salsa and jazz fusion. The band’s sound featured his melodic, blues-based guitar lines set against Latin and African rhythms featuring percussion instruments such as timbales and congas not generally heard in rock music. Santana continued to work in these forms over the following decades. He experienced a resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. Rolling Stone named Santana number 15 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2003.[2] He has won 10 Grammy Awards and 3 Latin Grammy Awards.[3]

Bill O’Reilly’s sit-down with President Barack Obama to air at 4:45 p.m. EST
    February 6th, 2011 2:07 pm ET

With all major TV listings showing a four-hour pregame show for Super Bowl XLV Sunday night, many people may be sitting around wondering when the annual “interview with the President” is going to air during all of the festivities.

With that in mind, here is your answer. Bill O’Reilly will be chatting with President Barack Obama at 4:45 p.m. Eastern time, less than 90 minutes before the official broadcast begins for football’s biggest night. The interview is expected to be a tough one for Obama, though O’Reilly has also promised to carry a different sort of tone in this interview than he does on “The Factor” — merely out of respect for the position that Obama holds in office.

There’s no question that O’Reilly has been a heated opponent of the President at various times, so it should ultimately be a fascinating interview.

Are you excited to see what happens here?

  4. Matthews On Handling Of Egypt: “I Feel Ashamed As An American

CHRIS MATTHEWS: “What was our plan for transition for our friend? Did we ever talk to him about it, encourage him? That’s my view; character and planning. I feel shame about this. I feel ashamed as an American, the way we’re doing this. I know he has the change. I know we’re for democracy, but the way we’ve handled it is not the way a friend handles the matter. We’re not handling it the way Americans should handle matters like this. I don’t feel right about it. And Barack Obama, as much I support him in many ways, there is a transactional quality to the guy that is chilling. I believe in relationships. I think we all do. Relationship politics is what we were brought up with in this country. You treat your friends a certain way. You’re loyal to them. And When they’re wrong, you try to be with them, you try to stick with them.”

Barack Obama?! I know the script Matthews was handed to read wasn’t far from what he thinks and believes.

Tweety bird Matthews, GTFOH You’re SHAMEFUL, and if you believe in relationships so badly, go home to your wife. MSNBC=FAIL!

  5. Nadin Khoury, Bullied Pennsylvania Teen, Meets DeSean Jackson on “The View”

    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_162-20030686-10391698.html

NEW YORK (CBS) A Pennsylvania teen who was beaten by several classmates in a attack caught on video tape got a big surprise when he appeared on “The View” Thursday.

Three members of 13-year-old Nadin Khoury’s favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles, came on the program to meet him.

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson, center Jamaal Jackson and Todd Herremans came to greet Khoury after his interview and praised him for his bravery.

“You’re brave, because this happens every day and people are not brave enough to stand up and take this on,” Jackson told him. The wide receiver then took the jersey off his back, signed it, and gave it to the teen, and made him an honorary member of the Eagles.

Khoury was kicked, dragged through the snow and then hoisted into a tree, allegedly by six of his classmates. When he tried to run away, he was hung by his coat on a tall metal fence. One of the accused students videotaped the attack on his cell phone.

On the program, he said he was bullied because of his size and because his mother is African-American and speaks with an accent.

“Anytime ever you need us, I’ve got two linemen right here … my boys are ready to come down,” he said.

Mitt tells donors he’s runnin’ ‘down the road’
By MOLLY BALL | 2/4/11 7:05 PM EST

Mitt Romney told a group of major donors on a conference call Friday that he plans to get into the presidential race “down the road.”

He didn’t specify a time frame, but the remark was in keeping with his previous statements that if he gets in, his 2012 effort would start later than his 2008 campaign did.

Romney’s 2008 finance director, Spencer Zwick, told those on the call that the finance team is putting together a list of potential donors in order to be prepared for a potential campaign, a source who was on the call told POLITICO.

A Romney aide confirmed these details and said 300 top Romney backers were on the call.

The source said Mike Eruzione, the former U.S. Olympic hockey player, asked Romney when — not if — he would get in the race, and Romney said an announcement would happen “down the road.”

    • Protecting the Palin Brand: Sarah and Bristol Go for Trademark Status

      http://www.politicsdaily.com/2011/02/02/protecting-the-palin-brand-sarah-and-bristol-go-for-trademark-s/

Sarah Palin has become an industry. The former Alaskan governor has had books deals, starred in a reality television show and set up a political PAC that raised $3.5 million last year. Through midterm election endorsements, broadcast on her 2.7 million-fan Facebook page or via her 400,000 follower Twitter feed, Palin has cemented alliances to new GOP governors such as South Carolina’s Nikki Haley and various members of Congress.

But Palin is more than just a former mayor, governor, vice presidential candidate and political force. She has catapulted over most politicians to a status of entertainment icon. She has become a brand — and she’s trying to protect it by trademarking her name.

The Palin brand is so valuable, that other family members are in on it. Sarah Palin’s 20-year-old daughter, Bristol, is a well-compensated spokeswomen on sexual abstinence for the Candie’s Foundation, has become a reality star in her own right on “Dancing with the Stars” and may land a job as a radio show host in Arizona.

And these savvy women are taking all the prudent steps a brand holder does to protect an asset. In the last several months, Politics Daily has learned that the Palin family lawyer, Alaska attorney Thomas Van Flein, has filed applications to the United States Patent and Trademark Office to trademark “Sarah Palin®” and “Bristol Palin®.”
