Don’t fall for the ole Royal Wedding, American Idol, Donald Trumpster media coverage, folks. The media doesn’t want to cover those concerned citizens above, because if they did, we wouldn’t have weeks of coverage on that loser Donald Trump. The Paul Ryan bill is 2009 Health Care Debate Redux, only it’s not getting media attention, because the corporate-owned media wills it so.

Medicare is such a hot button in the political forum but now many people are knowledgeable regarding how it works. I think one of the hardest parts is finding the right medicare plan. I have been doing research for the last few months. I just wanted to make sure I was making the right decision. Recently I came across this site medicare . It does a great job matching you up with the right plan. After trying different sites this is the best one that I’ve encountered. Very user friendly.

GOP Freshmen On Medicare Attacks: Let’s Let Bygones Be Bygones

House Republican freshmen admit that their so-called “MediScare” attacks on Democrats helped them win a big majority in 2010. Democrats had voted for the health care law, which included $500 billion in “cuts” to Medicare — primarily slashing overpayments to private insurers — and Republican challengers never let them forget it.
Now, they say, it’s time to let bygones be bygones.
Nearly a dozen House Republican freshmen held a press conference outside the Capitol Tuesday morning to “wipe the slate clean,” and “hit the reset button.”
“Yeah, I mean there’s been — again, this is a both-sides issue,” said Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) when asked if GOP candidates and the NRCC had engaged in ‘MediScare’ tactics last year. “To say that one side is blameless in trying to use issues to win votes is just dishonest.”
On Tuesday, Kinzinger and 41 of his colleagues sent a letter to President Obama, asking him to rein in Democratic attacks on GOP members who voted for the House budget, which includes a plan to privatize Medicare and cap spending on the program.

Eighty-Nine Arrested Protesting Paul Ryan’s Medicaid Cuts

Capitol Police arrested eighty-nine disability rights activists on Monday following the group’s occupation of the Cannon House Office Building rotunda.
The disability rights group ADAPT staged the event to protest Representative Paul Ryan’s Medicaid cuts, which would force people with disabilities to live in nursing homes rather than in their own houses.
Additionally, the House-passed budget resolution would turn Medicaid into block grants and reduce the program’s spending by more than $700 billion over ten years.
Combined with other Medicaid cuts at the state level, the protesters said, the block grant plan could restrict funding so much that people with disabilities would not have enough public support to be able to live independently.
The activists were charged with “unlawful conduct,” a misdemeanour offense. Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, a spokeswoman for the Capitol Police, said most of the protesters will “probably be released unless they have other outstanding offenses on their records,” Politico reports.
Nursing home residents in Illinois also turned out to protest proposed Medicaid cuts. Governor Pat Quinn’s budget reduces Lee Manor’s funding by $500,000, a crushing blow that would cut staff and services at the nursing center.
“This is a family community,” said Julia Conkin, 39, a wheelchair-bound resident at the center who spoke to a crowd of more than 150 people at a rally Monday. If the cuts are passed “it’s going to feel like I’m at a cold, business place instead of my home.”
Quinn’s plans include cutting Medicaid by 6 percent, or $70 million in state funds, which would result in a federal match of an additional $70 million also being wiped out. Nearly 7,000 healthcare jobs would be lost, according to Pat Cornstock, executive director of Health Care Council of Illinois.
“It doesn’t make sense to us that the cuts are made on the backs of the elderly,” Comstock shouted to the crowd, which held colorful signs and frequently chanted “Stop the cuts” as they residents, staff, and family members sat outside the rear of the nursing home.

Florida freshman Rep. Daniel Webster bucked the Tea Party line recently and voted to support the House spending deal pushed by Speaker John Boehner. Days later, the Republican also voted to support a GOP plan to privatize Medicare — an issue of special interest to Florida seniors.

Good morning Ametia and SoutherGirl2! I think the responses which were captured in the excellent lineup you all provided caught the GOP by complete surprise! And I have no idea why they were surprised. Medicare prevents some seniors with the only retirement income they will ever have, thus keeping them from becoming impoverished. Imagine the financial obligations that the offspring of seniors would have to commit to in order to ensure their parents were taken care of .

Based on an interview with Cantor, the Washington Post reports, “Senior Republicans conceded Wednesday that a deal is unlikely on a contentious plan to overhaul Medicare and offered to open budget talks with the White House by focusing on areas where both parties can agree, such as cutting farm subsidies. … Republicans recognize they may need to look elsewhere to achieve consensus after President Obama ‘excoriated us’ for a proposal to privatize Medicare.”

ORLANDO, Fla. — Freshman Rep. Daniel Webster was armed with a rainbow of graphs and pie charts, ready to make the GOP’s case for budget cuts before his own constituents. He was barely a minute into his prepared remarks Tuesday when the yelling started.
The first heckler shouted his doubts about the Florida congressman’s promise to do what is right in Washington. From there, the hour-long meeting in Orlando was filled with a constant stream of boos and questioners in the crowd of 300 shouting over each other.
Twelve minutes into his remarks, Webster couldn’t be heard over the shouting on both sides. He tried to continue but then stood quietly for a minute smiling, his hands clasped together in front.
The Republican plan to fundamentally restructure Medicare and cut social safety net programs like food stamps and Medicaid has at times been a raucously tough sell as its supporters head home and meet with their constituents, including Democrats organized against them. Even the architect of the plan, Rep. Paul Ryan, has been booed, though many of those attending four meetings Tuesday in his home state of Wisconsin were supportive.

Paul Ryan Gets Grilled at Town Hall Meeting -AGAIN! LOL
LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (WTAQ) – Paul Ryan explained his plan to revamp Medicare to his constituents in Lake Geneva today. But they appeared to be more interested in jobs and ending the wars in the Middle East.
About 200 people filled a hall in Lake Geneva where Ryan – the GOP House Budget Committee chairman from Janesville – held one of almost two dozen town meetings during the congressional break.
Ryan opened the session with a discussion about the economy, and his plans to reform the federal budget. The Lake Geneva group was an older crowd. But instead of quizzing Ryan about his plans to cut Medicare spending, they asked why the tax code favored businesses.
They also asked why nearby Janesville still has double-digit unemployment almost two-and-a-half years after General Motors closed – and why US troops are still in Iraq and Afghanistan.
