Obama Makes Trump His Bitch At White House Correspondents’ Dinner
    April 30, 2011
    By Jason Easley

From the opening strains of Hulk Hogan’s theme song “Real American” to his pointed humor through out, President Barack Obama took a victory lap for killing the birther issue, and he wasted no time gutting Donald Trump.

Before the dinner Trump told ABC News that he didn’t think the President would address him in his remarks. Obama not only addressed Trump, but he also gave him a taste of big time politics.

After Obama played a clip from The Lion King which he called his official birth video, he said, “I wanna make clear to the Fox News table that was a joke. That was not my real birth video. That was a children’s cartoon. Call Disney if you don’t believe me, they have the original long form version.”

Obama later got into Donald Trump, “Now I know that he has taken some flak lately, but no one is happier no one is prouder to put this long firm birth certificate matter to rest than The Donald, and that’s because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter, like did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell, and where are Biggie and Tupac?”

The President the mocked Trump’s executive experience, “All kidding aside obviously we all know about your credentials and breadth of experience. For example, no seriously, just recently in an episode of Celebrity Apprentice at the steak house the men’s cooking team did not impress the judges from Omaha Steaks, and there was a lot of blame to go around, but you Mr. Trump recognized that the real problem was a lack of leadership and so ultimately you didn’t blame Lil’ Jon or Meatloaf. You fired Gary Busey, and these are the decisions that would keep me up at night. Well handled, sir. Well handled.”

Obama used this lighthearted forum to introduce Donald Trump to the rough and tumble world of big time politics. Donald Trump was schooled by Obama on how to take out a critic, not with an F-Bomb, but a smile.

The President’s jokes this year were sharper and more pointed. Obama’s humor had an edge to it. He used his speech to answer his critics, and I think blow off some steam. He addressed the disappointment that some feel about his job performance, the birther nonsense, took plenty of political jabs at potential 2012 rivals, and mocked the people who are obsessed with his teleprompter.

This was President Obama gearing up for the 2012 campaign, and it was obvious that Donald Trump was in Obama’s house tonight. He was the guppy. Obama was the shark, and the President ate him alive.

Obama shattered the right’s delusions and dreams that Donald Trump is their savior, the man who will take Obama on.

Donald Trump is an amateur who was taken to the cleaners by the best pro in the business. Obama might have been joking, but his message to Trump was clear: I own this world, so do yourself a favor and stick to playing the tough guy on TV.

President Obama revealed what 64% of America already knew. Donald Trump does not belong anywhere near the White House.

Obama has always laughed at the birthers. Tonight, he laughed in Donald Trump’s face.

Donald Trump has a new daddy, and his name is President Barack Obama.

  4. Trump Slams Obama, Meyers Over White House Correspondents’ Dinner

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/01/donald-trump-white-house-correspondents-dinner_n_856030.html

The morning after Donald Trump found himself a prime target for jokes in speeches delivered by President Barack Obama and comedian Seth Meyers at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night, the potential presidential contender reacted to the shots taken at him during a phone interview on “Fox and Friends.”

“Well, I really understood what I was getting into, I didn’t know that I’d be virtually the sole focus,” he said. “But I was certainly in a certain way having a good time listening.”

Nevertheless, the billionaire and potential candidate said he found the annual event to be “inappropriate in certain respects.” And, despite Meyers drawing laughs and positive reviews with his remarks, Trump said he thought “his delivery frankly was not good,” calling the “Saturday Night Live” star a “stutterer.”

The AP relays some of the jokes made at Trump’s expense on Saturday night:

The president said Trump has shown the acumen of a future president, from firing Gary Busey on a recent episode of “Celebrity Apprentice” to focusing so much time on conspiracy theories about Obama’s birthplace.

After a week when Obama released his long-form Hawaii birth certificate, he said Trump could now focus on the serious issues, from whether the moon landing actually happened to “where are Biggie and Tupac?”

“No one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than ‘the Donald,'” Obama said, referring to Trump’s claims the same day that he was responsible for solving the issue.

For Trump’s decision to fire actor Busey instead of rock singer Meat Loaf from his TV show earlier this month, Obama quipped: “These are the types of decisions that would keep me up at night. Well handled, sir.”

Trump chuckled at some of the earlier jokes, but was clearly less amused as comedian Seth Meyers picked up where Obama left off.

“Donald Trump often talks about running as a Republican, which is surprising,” said the Saturday Night Live actor, entrusted with providing some of the comedy for the evening. “I just assumed he was running as a joke.”

Trump stared icily at Meyers as he continued to criticize the real estate tycoon.

In his speech, Barack Obama trumps adversaries

On his way into the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday night, Donald Trump made a bold prediction: “I wouldn’t think [Obama] would address me.”
That forecast held up for about 10 seconds.

Trump, who continues to boast his presidential aspirations, was one of the dinner’s highest-profile attendees, but he also bore the brunt of the burns from both the night’s two entertainers: President Barack Obama and “Saturday Night Live” head writer Seth Meyers.

“Donald Trump is here tonight,” said Obama. “Now, I know that he’s taken some flak lately but no one is prouder to put this birth certificate matter to rest than The Donald. And that’s because he can finally get back to focusing on the issues that matter, like, ‘Did we fake the moon landing?’ ‘What really happened in Roswell?’ And ‘Where are Biggie and Tupac?'”
But Obama was downright polite compared with Meyers, who zeroed in on The Donald.
Trump “said he’s running as a Republican,” said Meyers. “Which is surprising: I just assumed he was running as a joke.”

Obama Zings Trump at White House Correspondents’ Dinner
    By HELENE COOPER

Joe Biden. Michele Bachmann. Tim Pawlenty. Donald Trump.
Many of President Obama’s friends and foes alike got shellacked — as expected — on Saturday night when Mr. Obama took to the stage at the gussied-up White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton. But none so much as Mr. Trump, reality television star, birther and Republican presidential aspirant.
(Read Inside the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.)

As a hair-gelled, grimly unsmiling Mr. Trump sat at a nearby table — a guest of the Washington Post — Mr. Obama ripped one punch after another at the real estate tycoon.

“Donald Trump is here tonight,” the comedian in chief said, grinning. “Now, I know that he’s taken some flak lately, but no one is prouder to put this birth certificate to rest than The Donald. Now he can get to focusing on the issues that matter. Like, did we fake the moon landing? What really happened at Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?”

White House correspondents’ dinner sees a less-serious Obama
By Dan Zak, Published: April 30

Hoping to further quash conspiracy theories, President Obama announced Saturday night that he would show his official birth video, in front of an audience of 2,500 journalists, celebrities and hangers-on at the Washington Hilton.
Then a clip of “The Lion King” played on giant screens, showing the young cub Simba being anointed. The crowd roared. The squirmy issues of American society are always played for laughs at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

“I want to make this clear to the Fox News table: That was a joke,” said the tuxedo-clad president from a rostrum at a head table adorned with tulips and hydrangeas. “That was not my real birth video. That was a children’s cartoon. Call Disney if you don’t believe me. They have the original long-form version.”

The president, ever inscrutable, is officially in reelection mode, having spent the past week on matters serious (touring the tornado-ravaged South) and silly (asserting his place of birth). The question, politically, was what version of himself would Obama choose to display at this weird, sensitive time at this weird, ritzy event? Savvy campaigner, ponderous professor, cutting jokester, arrogant taskmaster?
