TOWSON, Md. (AP) — President Barack Obama was just a fan at this basketball game.

Obama, who plays in pick-up games often, including Saturday morning, brought his family to Towson University near Baltimore for an afternoon game that pitted the Towson Tigers against the Oregon State Beavers.

Obama’s brother-in-law, Craig Robinson, is Oregon State’s head coach.

    Oregon won 66-46.

The crowd inside Towson’s arena cheered as Obama and first lady Michelle Obama entered and shook fans’ hands as they made their way to a pair of courtside seats.

Daughters Malia and Sasha sat in the first row of the bleachers. Also attending were Obama’s mother-in-law, Marian Robinson, and Education Secretary Arne Duncan, a former professional basketball player and friend of Obama’s from Chicago.

“Groundhog Day” actor Bill Murray, whose son, Luke, is an assistant coach at Towson, also attended and spent a few minutes chatting up the Obamas before play got under way.

At halftime, Obama was surrounded by the entire Towson football team, which was honored for winning the Colonial Athletic Association regular-season title.

Catching an Oregon State game has become a post-Thanksgiving tradition for the Obamas.

Last year, the Beavers came to Washington and defeated Howard. The year before that, Oregon State traveled east and scored a win against George Washington.

  4. Coming back from an evening out at the ball game, POTUS and FLOTUS look happy here. I love the Prez’s stamina, but he must really be tired after that week-long trip to Australia and Indonesia, then back home to the U.S. to celebrate a long holiday weekend. Gotta luv him though! I hope he gets some rest before having to deal with the crazies on Capitol Hill

    • I concur, NCW. So good to see the family out together and having a great time. They look so happy together. I hope Chris Matthews was watching. Matthews is full of it!

      • You’re so right, SG2. I had forgotten about Tweety’s idiotic comments about the First Family. I appreciate how the Obamas continue to walk the talk in the face of all the opposition and criticism.

Thanks Julie..I enjoyed the pics…..I’m glad to see them out and enjoying a wonderful Saturday of College Basketball!…Loved it!!!!!

    • Hey Vicki! I’m just getting back. I had to run a few errands. Glad to be back. It’s windy and cold. I don’t like cold.

The Potus & Flotus enjoyed themselves. Did you see their reactions in a few of the photos. I had to laugh…Potus was into the game.
