  1. Majority Thinks Rush Limbaugh Should Be Fired For Sandra Fluke Comments: Poll

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/14/rush-limbaugh-fired-poll-majority-fluke_n_1344301.html

A majority of Americans think Rush Limbaugh should be fired for his comments about Sandra Fluke and contraception, according to a Bloomberg poll released on Wednesday.

The poll is another piece of bad news for Limbaugh, who has not been able to shake the scandal he set off by calling Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute.” It follows another poll on Tuesday which found that just 29 percent of respondents thought his subsequent apology to Fluke was sincere. It also comes as advertisers continue to pull out of his show in droves.

  3. Sandra Fluke On Rush Limbaugh Controversy: Attempts To Silence Women Have ‘Clearly Failed’

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/13/sandra-fluke_n_1341449.html

In an op-ed published on CNN.com on Tuesday, Sandra Fluke again spoke out about the Rush Limbaugh controversy, stating that the conservative radio host’s “attempts to silence women” have “clearly failed.”

“These smears are obvious attempts to distract from meaningful policy discussions and to silence women’s voices regarding their own health care,” wrote Fluke. “These attempts to silence women and the men who support them have clearly failed.”

She continued, “Attacking me and women who use contraception by calling us prostitutes and worse cannot silence us.”

  4. BREAKING: Rush Limbaugh Syndicator Suspends National Ads For Two Weeks.

    http://thinkprogress.org/media/2012/03/12/443195/breaking-rush-limbaugh-syndicator-suspends-national-ads-for-two-weeks/

Radio-Info.com reports that Premiere Networks, which syndicates the Rush Limbaugh show, told its affiliate radio stations that they are suspending national advertising for two weeks. Rush Limbaugh is normally provided to affiliates in exchange for running several minutes of national advertisements provided by Premiere each hour. These ads are called “barter spots.” These spots are how Premiere makes its money off of Rush Limbaugh and other shows it syndicates.

But without explanation, Premiere has supended these national advertisements for two weeks. Radio-Info.com calls the move “unusual.” The development suggests that Rush Limbaugh’s incessant sexist attacks on Sandra Fluke have caused severe damage to the show.

  10. Team Obama ties Mitt Romney to Rush Limbaugh

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0312/73735.html

The Obama campaign wants to make Rush Limbaugh a weapon of Mitt destruction.

Obama adviser David Axelrod and campaign manager Jim Messina were in a gleeful mood the morning after Super Tuesday, reflecting on Romney’s squeaker win over Rick Santorum in Ohio — and exit polls showing Romney losing independent and youth voters in every state other than his home turf of Massachusetts. That’s proof, they say, that Romney’s heading into the general election damaged both with his base and independent middle class and female voters.

But nothing tickled Axelrod so much as Romney’s less-than-forceful denunciation of Limbaugh’s “slut” and “prostitute” comments, which are fast becoming a cultural touchpoint, a commercial headache for Limbaugh and an Obama campaign rallying point.

“If you can’t stand up to the most strident voices in your party, how are you going to stand up to [Iranian President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad?” said Axelrod, who left the White House a year ago to take over the campaign’s messaging operation.

The Canadian supergroup was contacted by The Huffington Post’s Bob Cesca this week and asked if they gave Limbaugh permission to use their music. They responded by sending Limbaugh a cease and desist letter through their attorney.

Limbaugh has long made use of Rush’s music, and even played the track “The Spirit of Radio” in the background as he insulted Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke, calling her a “slut” and a “prostitute” because she vocalized support for universal contraception coverage through private health insurance.

UPDATED: Even more advertisers leave the conservative radio host’s show, with no end in sight.

Rush Limbaugh can’t stop the bleeding.

The conservative firebrand lost another round of advertisers for his syndicated program, The Rush Limbaugh Show, by Tuesday morning, putting at 24 the number of sponsors retreating following his high-profile attacks last week on Georgetown student Sandra Fluke.

Teleconferencing company Polycom, home-improvement company Service Magic, life insurance site AccuQuote, Hadeed Carpet and clothing company Bonobos announced that they had requested their ads pulled from the program. On Tuesday, insurance company Geico, tractor manufacturer John Deere, St. Vincent’s Medical Center and Stamps.com requested their sponsorship be terminated. As the day wore on, nine more sponsors pulled their spots: Bethesda Sedation Dentistry, Cascades Dental, Philadelphia Orchestra, Goodwill Industries, Heart & Body Extract, Netflix, Downeast Energy, Capitol One, and JCPenney.

They joined such high-profile companies as AOL, Sears, LegalZoom and ProFlowers in removing their spots from the show.

Limbaugh spent three days berating Fluke, a student who had sought to testify before Congress on behalf of insurance coverage for birth control, calling her a “slut” and a “prostitute” and insisting that, if she wanted birth control coverage, she post videos of herself having sex.

He apologized for his choice of words on Saturday, a mea culpa that fell short in the eyes of many critics. As a result of public outrage, two stations, in Pittsfield, Mass. and Hilo, Hawaii, removed Limbaugh from their schedules. Musician Peter Gabriel, whose song “Sledghammer” was played during Limbaugh’s rant, moved to have his music taken off of Limbaugh’s program.

“Peter was appalled to learn that his music was linked to Rush Limbaugh’s extraordinary attack on Sandra Fluke,” his reps said. “It is obvious from anyone that knows Peter’s work that he would never approve such a use. He has asked his representatives to make sure his music is withdrawn and especially from these unfair aggressive and ignorant comments.”

Despite the loss in revenue, Premiere Networks, the syndication arm of Limbaugh’s bosses at Clear Channel, stands by the host.

    http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1HYu42/www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/03/06/obama-decent-folks-dont-call-women-sluts/

President Barack Obama on Tuesday said that conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh’s remarks about a Georgetown University law student “don’t have any place in the public discourse.”

Limbaugh recently apologized for calling Sandra Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute” after she testified before Congress about the need for contraception coverage at colleges and universities, even if they are owned by religious institutions.

“I don’ know what’s in Rush Limbaugh’s heart so I’m not going to comment on the sincerity of his apology,” the president told reporters during a Tuesday press conference. “All decent folks can agree that the remarks that were made don’t have any place in the public discourse.”

“The reason that I called Ms. Fluke is I thought about [my daughters] Malia and Sasha, and one of the things I want them to do as they get older is to engage in issues they care about, even ones I may not agree with them on. I want them to be able to speak their mind in a civil, thoughtful way. And I don’t want them attacked or called horrible names because they are being good citizens. And I wanted Sandra to know that I thought her parents should be proud of her.”

Obama added: “We want to send a message to all our young people that being part of democracy involves argument and disagreements and debate, and we want you to be engaged and there’s a way to do it that doesn’t involve you being demeaned and insulted, particularly when you’re a private citizen.”

  25. Hoyer unleashes stinging rebuke of Rush Limbaugh

    http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/03/hoyer-unleashes-stinging-rebuke-of-rush-limbaugh.php?ref=fpnewsfeed

A rare apology from Rush Limbaugh has done little to quell the uproar over the radio host’s “slut” comment from last week — and Democrats are working hard to keep it that way.

At his weekly pen and pad, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) launched into an unprompted rebuke of Limbaugh for calling Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke a “slut” and “prostitute” for her recent testimony contraception and health insurance.

“I want to speak about an issue which was as outrageous an attack as I’ve seen recently,” Hoyer told reporters Tuesday. “Rush Limbaugh’s attack on Sandra Fluke was beyond the pale. Indefensible. Vicious. Intimidating to others. … And it demeans the public faith.”

Hoyer also called the comments “outrageous” and, raising his voice, explained his reaction: “I have three daughters. And if he had treated one of my daughters that way, I would be even more outraged than I am for Sandra Fluke.” Hoyer also invoked the Army-McCarthy hearings, asking Limbaugh, “Have you no shame?”

The No. 2 House Dem approvingly quoted the president of Georgetown University, who described Limbaugh’s comments as “misogynistic” and “vitriolic.” He joins House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who called on the GOP to repudiate the remarks and said Republicans would otherwise be “tattooed with that.”

I want to explain why I apologized to Sandra Fluke in the statement that was released on Saturday. I’ve read all the theories from all sides, and, frankly, they are all wrong. I don’t expect — and I know you don’t, either — morality or intellectual honesty from the left. They’ve demonstrated over and over a willingness to say or do anything to advance their agenda. It’s what they do. It’s what we fight against here every day. But this is the mistake I made. In fighting them on this issue last week, I became like them.

Against my own instincts, against my own knowledge, against everything I know to be right and wrong I descended to their level when I used those two words to describe Sandra Fluke. That was my error. I became like them, and I feel very badly about that. I’ve always tried to maintain a very high degree of integrity and independence on this program. Nevertheless, those two words were inappropriate. They were uncalled for. They distracted from the point that I was actually trying to make, and I again sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for using those two words to describe her. I do not think she is either of those two words. I did not think last week that she is either of those two words.

The apology to her over the weekend was sincere. It was simply for using inappropriate words in a way I never do, and in so doing, I became like the people we oppose. I ended up descending to their level. It’s important not to be like them, ever, particularly in fighting them. The old saw, you never descend to the level of your opponent or they win. That was my error last week. But the apology was heartfelt. The apology was sincere. And, as you will hear as I go on here, it was not about anything else. No ulterior motive. No speaking in code. No double entendre or intention. Pure, simple, heartfelt. That’s why I apologized to Sandra Fluke on Saturday, ’cause all the theories, all the experts are wrong.

    http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/03/and-so-we-enter-the-part-of-the-rush-saga-where-he-attacks-rap-music.php?ref=fpa

Since the controversy over Rush Limbaugh’s attack on Sandra Fluke began, there have been whispers among Limbaugh critics that this might be his “Imus moment” — a reference to another shock jock host, Don Imus, whose 2007 insults of the Rutgers women’s basketball team led to his ouster. It’s still unlikely that Limbaugh’s comments about Fluke will leave him jobless, but that didn’t stop Rush from taking a cue from Imus Monday: Limbaugh, like Imus before him, claimed he was subjected to a double standard when stacked up against rappers.

Imus — and his defenders — pushed this line hard back in 2007 after he was called out for referring to the Rutgers players “nappy-headed hos”. His critics were undeterred, and Imus was eventually fired from MSNBC.

Nevertheless, Limbaugh picked up on this line of reasoning today as he reiterated his apology to Fluke from the weekend amid continued criticism — including from Republicans — and advertisers canceling sponsorships of his show.

“Talk about a double standard,” Limbaugh said on air Monday, according to Dylan Stableford. “Rappers can say anything they want about women [and] it’s called art. And they win awards.”

The line is strikingly similar to what Imus’s attempt to deflect the blame for his comments. From a 2007 AP report:

Fighting in vain to keep his job, radio host Don Imus said that rappers routinely “defame and demean black women” and call them “worse names than I ever did.”

It’s worth noting here that Imus has emerged as one of Limbaugh’s toughest critics following the Fluke incident. On his new Fox Business Network show Monday, Imus called Limbaugh’s apology “lame” and urged him to apologize to Fluke in person, a step Imus ultimately took with members of the Rutgers team.

“He’s an insincere pig,” Imus said.

Rush Limbaugh’s `apology’ does nothing to quiet firestorm
    By Greg Sargent

In a move that only ensures that this battle will get a lot worse from here on out, AOL has become the eighth advertiser to yank sponsorship from Rush Limbaugh’s show in the wake of his “slut” comments:

“We have monitored the unfolding events and have determined that Mr. Limbaugh’s comments are not in line with our values. As a result we have made the decision to suspend advertising on The Rush Limbaugh Radio show.”

Remarkably, this comes as some prominent conservatives are doubling down in their support for him. “Rally for Rush,” CNN contributor and RedState.com blogger Erick Erickson tweeted this morning, circulating a link to an American Spectator story with the same name. Rush Limbaugh has become a walking wedge issue.

Perhaps the most important thing about AOL’s decision is that it shows that Rush’s apology over the weekend has done absolutely nothing to reassure his sponsors or to quell the controversy. Public apologies of this sort are supposed to accomplish two goals. They are supposed to give people on your own side a way to say, “look, he admitted wrongdoing, it’s time to move on.” And they are supposed to get neutral arbiters — such as reporters and nonpartisan commentators — to think you sincerely regret your words, and to treat the story as resolved.

Limbaugh’s statement did acknowledge that his words towards Sandra Fluke had been “insulting,” and he said: “I sincerely apologize.” But in the same statement, he opined that “it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress.” In other words, even in his apology he kept the attack going.

It’s worth recalling how this whole fight began: It all started when House Republicans denied a little-known Georgetown student a chance to testify at a hearing they were staging on contraception and religious liberty. Since then, it has ballooned into a major national controversy that seems to be putting pressure on leading Republicans to distance themselves from one of the most prominent voices in the party and could even have ramifications in the presidential race.

Dems have done their part to strategically feed the story: House Democrats held their own hearing with Fluke, which promted the Rush diatribe that made the story go national. President Obama weighed in with a well timed phone call to Fluke that gave national reporters the hook they needed to ask the leading GOP presidential candidates whether they were prepared to distance themselves from Rush.

It’s gotten so bad that Rush felt the need to reiterate today that his weekend apology was sincere. But as Erik Wemple notes, there was nothing new in today’s apology — it just smacked of desperation and bitterness, and he even stooped to blaming the left for his troubles. Those troubles will surely continue — and the question now is how bad they will get for his party.

Dixie Chicks pulled from air after bashing Bush
    Saturday, March 15, 2003 Posted: 0045 GMT ( 8:45 AM HKT)

DALLAS, Texas (Reuters) — There are a lot worse things in country music than your wife leaving you or your dog dying. There’s stations not playing your music because you done gone and said some things against the president.

Music superstars the Dixie Chicks are finding out that criticizing President Bush’s plans for war in Iraq can cost you air play, big time.

Country stations across the United States have pulled the Chicks from playlists following reports that lead singer Natalie Maines said in a concert in London earlier this week that she was “ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas.”

Station managers said their decisions were prompted by calls from irate listeners who thought criticism of the president was unpatriotic.

The group, which got its start in Texas, was one of the darlings of this year’s Grammy Awards. The three-woman band that blends blue grass and pop hooks has spawned legions of fans who embrace the ideals of strong women celebrated in some of the trio’s songs

By and large, recent pro-war rallies haven’t drawn nearly as many people as antiwar rallies, but they have certainly been vehement. One of the most striking took place after Natalie Maines, lead singer for the Dixie Chicks, criticized President Bush: a crowd gathered in Louisiana to watch a 33,000-pound tractor smash a collection of Dixie Chicks CD’s, tapes and other paraphernalia. To those familiar with 20th-century European history it seemed eerily reminiscent of. . . . But as Sinclair Lewis said, it can’t happen here.

Who has been organizing those pro-war rallies? The answer, it turns out, is that they are being promoted by key players in the radio industry — with close links to the Bush administration.

The CD-smashing rally was organized by KRMD, part of Cumulus Media, a radio chain that has banned the Dixie Chicks from its playlists. Most of the pro-war demonstrations around the country have, however, been organized by stations owned by Clear Channel Communications, a behemoth based in San Antonio that controls more than 1,200 stations and increasingly dominates the airwaves.

  66. Patricia Heaton: Dittohead Slut Shamer

    http://crooksandliars.com/nicole-belle/patricia-heaton-dittohead-slut-shamer

Actress Patricia Heaton is perhaps known for her roles in the sitcoms “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle”. She’s also an outspoken conservative (not that rare a breed in Hollywood, no matter what Fox News says) who isn’t afraid to dip her toe into her frequently factually incorrect political advocacy. For example, she was happy to film a commercial in response to Michael J. Fox’s support for a Missouri stem cell research bill by warning against the evils of human cloning and human egg harvesting for profit.

And she’s at it again, this time echoing Rush Limbaugh in castigating Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown law student who was prevented from testifying in front of Issa’s panel discussing the Obama administration’s mandate that contraceptive care be offered to all employees free of charge. Heaton tweeted on Wednesday to her 65,000 followers that if each of her “Tweatons” (a portmanteau that cannot be scorned enough) would just send the “Georgetown Gal” a condom, then “her parents wouldn’t have to cancel basic cable and she wouldn’t reproduce”.

Senior Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod on Sunday accused conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh of continuing to spread lies even as he apologized to a Georgetown University law student that he called a “slut.”

“I think what Rush Limbaugh said about that woman was not only vile and degrading to her, but to women across the country,” he said on ABC’s This Week.

“The other thing about the Limbaugh story that I think is important is that it was predicated on a lie,” Axelrod continued. “The lie is that somehow she was asking that taxpayers pay for contraception. The policy is that in basic insurance policies, contraception, contraceptive services, birth control should be included.”

“Even in his sort of quasi-apology last night, Mr. Limbaugh continued that falsehood.”

Fantastic news. Another Limbaugh advertiser bails out. The statement from CEO David Friend:

“No one with daughters the age of Sandra Fluke, and I have two, could possibly abide the insult and abuse heaped upon this courageous and well-intentioned young lady. Mr. Limbaugh, with his highly personal attacks on Miss Fluke, overstepped any reasonable bounds of decency. Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.”

This is great for a variety of reasons, and I’m relieved personally because I have literally millions of files backed up with Carbonite. Moving everything would have taken months.

“For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke.
I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit? In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone’s bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level.
My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.”

By Ricardo Lopez and Kim Geiger

    March 3, 2012, 3:45 p.m.
In what was surely a rare move for the conservative radio host, Rush Limbaugh apologized Saturday to the Georgetown University law school student he called a “slut” and “prostitute” earlier in the week.

The apology, posted to his website, said he did not mean to make a “personal attack” against Sandra Fluke. The third-year law student had testified before Democrats in favor of President Obama’s new rule requiring employers to offer health insurance plans that cover birth control.

“My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir,” he wrote. “I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.”

Limbaugh’s words had sparked an immediate backlash, drawing ire from all sides and leading some companies to pull advertising support for his show.

But although he apologized for the remarks, Limbaugh did not back down from his position on the contraceptive requirement.

“I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress,” he wrote. “I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. A Message from Carbonite CEO, David Friend Regarding Ads on Limbaugh
    March 02, 2012

Over the past two days we have received a tremendous amount of feedback on Rush Limbaugh’s recent comments. I too am offended and very concerned about his comments. Limbaugh’s remarks have us rethinking our future use of talk radio.

We use more than 40 talk show hosts to help get the Carbonite message out to the public. The nature of talk radio is that from time to time listeners are offended by a host and ask that we pull our advertising. This goes for conservatives like Limbaugh and progressives like Stephanie Miller and Ed Shultz. We even get customers who demand that we pull the plug on NPR. As an advertiser, we do not have control over a show’s editorial content or what they say on air. Carbonite does not endorse the opinions of the shows or their hosts.

However, the outcry over Limbaugh is the worst we’ve ever seen. I have scheduled a face-to-face meeting next week with Limbaugh during which I will impress upon him that his comments were offensive to many of our customers and employees alike.

Please know your voice has been heard and that we are taking this matter very seriously.

    Sincerely,
    David Friend

PRO FLOWERES IS HUGE MULTI-BILLION $$$$ CONGLOMERATE

ProFlowers is a major flower retailer in the United States. It is an e-commerce company that sells products shipped from growers, suppliers and its own distribution facilities to consumers. ProFlowers is headquartered in San Diego, California. It is part of a larger entity, Provide Commerce.[1], which is in turn part of Liberty Media.

ProFlowers was sued by its major rival, Florists’ Transworld Delivery (FTD), for false advertising and unfair competition in August 2005. The suit focused on ProFlowers’ claim to ship “direct from the fields” with “no middlemen”, alleging that the company actually often stored flowers in refrigerated warehouses, including those of third parties. For its part, ProFlowers responded that the lawsuit was “without merit” and brought counterclaims against FTD. The lawsuit was settled a year later. ProFlowers did agree to make some modifications to its advertising, although as of February 2008, ProFlowers is once again claiming in its TV commercials that it delivers flowers “straight to the door from the growers’ fields”.[3]

Two months after the FTD suit was filed, two law firms filed a class action lawsuit claiming that ProFlowers used deceptive marketing, also targeting the company’s freshness claims. ProFlowers called it a copycat of the FTD lawsuit. It was settled with ProFlowers not admitting any wrongdoing, but offering $10 store credits to the millions of customers in the class, paying $250,000 in attorneys’ fees, and “altering its advertising”.[4]

Florist advocacy groups continue to take umbrage at ProFlowers’ marketing which disparages the role of the local florist, particularly since ProFlowers itself uses local florists to fulfill its same-day, late next-day and Sunday delivery orders.

In September 2009 a class action lawsuit was filed against Provide-Commerce, the owner of ProFlowers and Encore Marketing the owner of Easy Saver, for fraud, with ProFlowers customers signed up unknowingly for the latter service leading to an unsolicited monthly fee

The Obama Administration may be making a case that the president saved and turned around the economy, but White House officials are happy to talk about social issues instead. A day after Rush Limbaugh referred to Sandra Fluke, a law student who had hoped to testify before a House committee on the need for insurance to cover contraception, as a “slut” and “prostitute,” Democrats are in battle mode. Press Secretary Jay Carney said the conservative talker’s comments were reprehensible during a briefing at the White House, while Obama himself called Fluke to offer his support.

Neuter Limbaugh AND the GOP by Also Going After His Owners, Like Willard Romney!

I fully support the attempts by women’s groups and others to put pressure on Rush Limbaugh after his misogynistic comments earlier this week. There seem to be some who are operating under the illusion that they may be able to shut Limbaugh down and get him off the radio altogether. In my opinion, even stating that as a purpose could come back to bite us. Let me assure you, this won’t happen. Some point to the example of getting Glenn Beck canned from Fox News, but radio operates under a completely different financial model than a cable network, which would make it close to impossible to shut him down completely.

But that doesn’t mean the effort is worthless, which is why I have been joining the effort all day, contacting advertisers and others, to make sure sufficient pressure is placed on them to make them nervous.

Note, I said and others. Who are the others, might you ask?

Can you say the Republican Party and Mitt Romney?

Let me explain something. You see, Rush Limbaugh doesn’t actually work for “EIB.” He works for an entity called Premiere Radio Networks. That entity is owned by Clear Channel Media & Entertainment. By the way, Premiere also owns the Glenn Beck Radio Program. But what’s most interesting about this are the owners of Clear Channel; Thomas H. Lee Partners LP and…

    Bain Capital Partners, LLC.

    Perhaps you’ve heard of them.

That’s right; Mitt Romney owns the Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck radio programs. Talk about your conflicts of interest. And our golden opportunity!

I applaud Representative Speier’s call for a woman’s boycott of Rush Limbaugh’s sponsors. I believe she was grossly short-sighted in her call to action though. There are millions of men more than willing to take up this fight with you all. For many years we have all tolerated Limbaugh’s sick, divisive commentary, but this time it’s different. He didn’t just disparage a single law student, he attacked every mother, wife, sister and daughter in this country. He couldn’t have miscalculated his timing more. After the Komen fight and the fight over the Affordable Care Act’s contraception provision, women, liberals and anyone that actually cares about basic women’s health is ready to take this battle all the way. Do not let this go and enlist the help of your brothers.

  113. Pelosi rips Limbaugh over `slut’ comment, calls on House GOP to repudiate it

Congressional Democrats who have vowed to make the birth control controversy central to this year’s elections have been handed a gift in the form of one of the leading voices in the GOP: Rush Limbaugh.

In an interview with me, Nancy Pelosi considerably upped the stakes in this fight, ripping Limbaugh’s recent comments about women who use contraception as “obnoxious,” and calling on House GOP and other Republican leaders to publicly repudiate them.

Limbaugh recently derided Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown student who testified at a House contaception hearing, as a “slut,” adding that “all the women at Georgetown University” should put “as much aspirin…between their knees as possible.”

Pelosi said she was surprised that Republican leaders had yet to condemn the comment, but said GOPers would not be able to escape it. “They won’t disassociate themselves from it. They’re tattooed with that,” she said. “I wouldn’t want those words repeated in my office.”

SLEEP TRAIN HAS PULLED ALL ITS ADS FROM LIMBAUGH’S SHOW!! HIT THE WALLET OF THIS FAT FUCKER, LADIES!

One of Rush Limbaugh’s advertisers announced Friday that it was pulling all of its commercials from his radio show in the wake of Limbaugh’s incendiary comments about a female law student and contraception.

After being bombarded on Twitter, mattress store Sleep Train said that it would no longer advertise during Limbaugh’s top-rated show following days of outrage over Limbaugh’s statements about Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown student who was denied a chance to speak at a Congressional hearing about birth control.

“We are pulling our ads with Rush Limbaugh and appreciate the community’s feedback,” the company wrote in a tweet.

Limbaugh called Fluke a “slut” and a “prostitute,” saying that she was having “so much sex” that she wanted the government to pay for her contraception. Then, he went further, saying, ” if we’re going to pay for your contraceptives and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”

    • All women in America need to stand against this ish. We cannot allow Rush to get away with this. If we don’t speak up now, what will this slug say next? Who will he call a slut next? Will it be you, your daughter, mother, sister, grandmother? Do you want this as the norm? Hell to the No. We CANNOT tolerate it…. ever.

    RUSH APPROVES OF BOYCOTT!

  119. Thanks,aquagranny911,For some reason this turn around against women, makes my blood boil,I think that if we don’t stop the injustice against women, the republicans have a plan to take women’s rights back forty years, and I’m at an age that I will not go down without a fight.Right now the only peak I care about is peaking the intrest of women our grandmothers fought way to hard to get us this far,and I really don’t want to let them down,I have daughters, and grand daughters, and I would never want a limp drugie like limpbutt, calling my girls sluts. But thanks for the support.

  120. Just imo, the best way to really hurt the Rushslime is through local advertisers in your area who may be advertising on his show too. Yes, go after the big national guys but if ‘Joes Garage’ is advertising in your home town, organize a boycott & tell them why you will be taking your car to someone else.

$$$ talks and bull shit walks!

And DAMN!!! I hope Ms Fluke sues his sorry ass for slander for every $ she can get! She’s just an ordinary person, not a politician or celebrity. There are limits to “free speech” & what Limprag did was just pure evil after the treatment she got from that Issa jackal.

  121. I hope this, young women has a very good lawyer.I am so sick of this vile pig’s mouth,if he isn’t using a racial slur against our president,or his family, and to further grow his hate he now includes young collage women, and apperantly all women,I am assuming that must include his mother, and four wife’s.I certainly hope they got a good settelment from that overly blotted pompas ass.I have looked up all of the sponcers that so proudly stand behind him,and I am telling everyone not to shop any of your store’s or buy any of the products that advertise for him.Come On ladies let’s show him who’s strong enough to shut his vile mouth.I hope the republican party is proud of their leading spokes person. And you call yourself’s christian conservitives, please list your church’s so that I don’t send my children or anyone else I know there,I absolutley do not want to learn your kind of christianity.I feel he should be taken off the air,I don’t think we need to hear that kind of garbage filling our airways.Open your eye’s FCC or hear’s,if you can’t do your job,I know a lot of people looking for work that understand’s right from wrong.Hay Romney likes to fire people get him to dump the pig.

  122. Has anyone posted a list of Limbaugh’s sponsors? I want to make sure they get none of my business. Like, ever.

Regardless of my position on abortion, good for the Congressman to stand up and call on women to boycott Limbaugh’s racism and chauvinism.

    • Ametia says:

HI Mr. Bab. Welcome to 3 Chics. I’m Pro-choice, and I’m curious to know what exactly what is your position on abortion. Just curious…

    • Hi, Mr Bab!

      Welcome to 3Chics.

I would never have an abortion. But I want to the right to choose. I don’t want any man dictating to me what I can and cannot do with my own body. I decide!

      • Let’s make them stop paying for their stupid viagra pills, the only reason they had them developed was because, these old fart’s wanted to mess around with younger women, and couldn’t do the deed.So here we are with men wanting complete control of what a women’s choice will be and how they’re going to stop aborations, and do unnessary ultra sounds,no man will ever tell me what I can and can’t do.I have an idea every time they want to fill there viagra script, let’s use that transvaginal wand to stick up there wazoo! before they can take them home. How long would they let us do that? Whats good for the goose is good for the gander? DG

      • Welcome to 3 Chics, Dianna!

Let’s make them stop paying for their stupid viagra pills, the only reason they had them developed was because, these old fart’s wanted to mess around with younger women, and couldn’t do the deed.

You’re getting down to the brass tacks. Go on and tell the truth. How dare these old men try to control a woman’s body. I’ll be damned. Women of America need to unite and send a powerful message to these mofos. Lets strip the viagra from their LIMPY behinds.

      • Dianna Gillem you made me laugh. The sorry truth is that men hit their sexual peak between 18 & 25 after that it is down hill while women just keep on ticking and get even better as they age. That’s why some limp old men grab the pills & try for a young chica in hopes of being 25 again, if only in their minds.

      • Ametia says:

Now y’all brining in the REAL DEAL. IMPOTENCE, LOW SELF-ESTEEM, LOSS OFP PENAL POWER. Can’t get it up, pop a pill, can’t get us preggers, attempt to take away our pills. GTFOH!

      • That’s why some limp old men grab the pills & try for a young chica in hopes of being 25 again, if only in their minds.
