Tyler Perry to host, Cee Lo Green to perform at Obama fundraisers in Atlanta
(CBS News) President Obama is set to attend three fundraising events in Atlanta on Friday, and will get some help from a pair of famous faces.
Actor/director Tyler Perry is hosting a fundraiser for Mr. Obama at his Atlanta home. Tickets cost $35,000 per person, according to CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller, and approximately 60 people are expected.
The event at Perry’s home is one of five fundraisers Mr. Obama will attend Friday (he also had two other events in Chicago earlier that day).
Another, held at Tyler Perry Studios, will feature a performance by singer/”The Voice” judge Cee Lo Green. That event will be attended by 1,000 people, with general admission tickets starting at $500. A limited number of tickets sold for $250.
All proceeds from Friday’s trio of events – expected to total more than $5 million, per Knoller – will go to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee authorized by Obama for America and the Democratic National Committee

Well….I’d say our President is leaving with what he came for…The support of Georgia….I attended a fab set at the High Museum in downtown Atlanta this evening..Traffic was a bit difficult on my way down but coming home on 75 North was a vision to behold….As I crossed over the W. Paces Ferry exit (the exit where Tyler Perry’s mansion sits) I noticed that to my left on 75 South, folks were held up by the highway patrol and local police, blue lights FLASHING!…Folks were standing on the highway with cars turned off!!!…Traffic was backed up for at least 20 miles!!!!….President Obama’s visit shut the city down!!!!…I’m very happy that Mr. Perry offered his support in such a big way and that we were able to show our love and support for the President and his quest to be re-elected! As he should, since he’s got so much unfinished business on behalf of the American people….
Remember this 2010 fundraiser in Atlanta? Can’t have the keys back..
