ARLINGTON — Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Friday that the “stand your ground” self-defense law he signed while in office should not apply to the case of a teenager who was killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer in his home state.
“This law does not apply to this particular circumstance,” Bush said after an education panel discussion at the University of Texas at Arlington. “Stand your ground means stand your ground. It doesn’t mean chase after somebody who’s turned their back.”
Zimmerman’s attorney doesn’t know what defense to use. I heard they weren’t going to go for SYG defense, they would go for self-defense. All of which are BOGUS, since this murdering clown wasn’t charged from jump and evidence collected, no labs, no pissing in the jar, NO NOTHING.

After fatally shooting Trayvon Martin, Florida community watch captain George Zimmerman “couldn’t stop crying,” according to a family friend who spoke with him Saturday.
“After this started – the reports I got – [Zimmerman] “couldn’t stop crying,” Joe Oliver told “Good Morning America” on Sunday.
Oliver, who said he is a close friend of the family, said Zimmerman has gone into hiding, fears for his life, and is “just now becoming aware of how big this has gotten.”
Oliver said he has been in regular contact with members of Zimmerman’s family, who have briefed him on Zimmerman’s day-to-day reactions as the case has grown into a national referendum on race, gun laws and criminal justice.
On Saturday, the militant New Black Panther Party offered a $10,000 bounty for Zimmerman’s “capture.”
On Friday, members of the Miami Heat basketball team dispatched Twitter pictures showing team members wearing “hoodies,” apparently in solidarity with the family of Martin, who was wearing the popular hooded jacket when he was shot. Last week, President Obama weighed in on the controversial case, saying that if he had a son he would “look like” Trayvon Martin.
Craig Sonner, an attorney advising Zimmerman who appeared on “GMA” alongside Oliver, confirmed Oliver’s relationship to the family.

SPLC’s Potok Confirms Sanford Was Home to the New Knights of the Ku Klux Klan

Several days ago, during a face-to-face conversation with “Mr. V”, a New York resident that has family and friends based in the Sanford, Florida area, From The G-Man was informed that many sections of Florida, including Sanford, were “hood” areas.
When asked to explain, Mr. V stated, “Hood, as in Ku Klux Klan! I’m not surprised that this shooting occurred, based on what family and friends have told me in the past.”
From The G-Man launched an investigation into the claim on March 21, and on the same day two sources that were contacted confirmed that the KKK has had — and continues to have — a significant presence in the “Sunshine State”.
“According to our archives, there is no listing of an organization known as the New Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, but there have been a number of Klan chapters set up in various sections of the state dating as far back as the 1930s, and many of them could have spread out to areas like Sanford,” said Alicia Clarke, Curator of the Sanford Museum.

MIAMI (AP) – Wearing a hoodie. Listening to music and talking on his cellphone. Picking up Skittles for his soon-to-be stepbrother. Friends say that’s how they would have imagined 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on a Sunday afternoon.
Starting a fight? Possibly high on drugs and up to no good? No, friends say that description of Martin from the neighborhood crime-watch volunteer who shot and killed the unarmed black teenager doesn’t match the young man they knew.
“There’s no way I can believe that, because he’s not a confrontational kid,” said Jerome Horton, who was one of Martin’s former football coaches and knew him since he was about 5. “It just wouldn’t happen. That’s just not that kid.”
I know the media and the racists want desperately to find any type of violence in Trayvon’s past. Ain’t gonna happen. There’s no there..there!

key issue in the case (or non-case) against George Zimmerman, who killed Florida teen Trayvon Martin last month, has to do with less than a second of difficult-to-make-out audio. Did Zimmerman utter a racial slur during the 911 call that preceded the shooting, or didn’t he?
Jeff Toobin explains why it matters to the CNN wire staff:
“It’s extremely, extremely significant, because the federal government is not allowed to prosecute just your ordinary, everyday murder,” he said. “Two people fighting on the street is not a federal crime. However, if one person shoots another based on racial hostility, racial animus, that does become a federal crime.”
Unfortunately, “A top CNN audio engineer enhanced the sound of the 911 call, and several members of CNN’s editorial staff repeatedly reviewed the tape but could reach no consensus.” This does not bode well for those of us hoping to at least get this one question answered.

SANFORD, Florida (Isabelle Zehnder reporting) – The Sanford Police Department’s handling of the shooting death of Trayvon Martin is under intense scrutiny, and many say “rightfully so.”
There appear to be many glaring errors on the part of the police department including, his parents say, the fact that police failed to identify their son more quickly.
Trayvon was reported missing by his mother, yet his body was left in the morgue for three days classified as “John Doe,” ABC News reports.
The family said officers didn’t bother to ask neighbors if they recognized Trayvon, who had been staying with his father who lives in the neighborhood where he was shot.
Police reportedly had Trayvon’s cellphone in their possession yet they alledgedly made no attempts to call his friends or family whose numbers could have been retrieved from his phone. According to his girlfriend, she and Trayvon were talking on the phone moments before he was shot and killed by 28-year-old neighborhood watch captain, George Zimmerman.
