Mitt Romney’s BROKEN PROMISES | Examining Romney’s Massachusetts Governor Economic Record Claims

Mitt Romney, “Corporate Buy-out Specialist” (LOL) I love this title, has consistently claimed that his business experience taught him lessons that will result in economic growth for the country.  Let’s examine his claims, shall we?

You can review Romney’s record on:

  • Massachusetts Record
  • Debt
  • Governmnent
  • Jobs
  • Taxes

Mitt Romney ran for governor of Massachusetts promising more jobs, decreased debt, and smaller government. By the time Romney left office, state debt had increased, the size of government had grown, and Massachusetts had fallen behind almost every other state in job creation. Romney economics didn’t work then, and it won’t work now.

Mitt Romney has drawn the wrong lessons from his experiences, both in business and in Massachusetts, and is using his misguided economic philosophy to shape the policies he’s promoting in his run for the White House. He’s making the same promises he made when he ran for governor, and America can’t afford the same results we saw in Massachusetts.

President Obama believes we need a job-creating economy built to last – one where we grow the economy from the middle out, not the top down, and where hard work pays off, responsibility is rewarded, and everyone from Main Street to Wall Street does their fair share and plays by the same rules.

OFA takes over the front page of the Boston Globe website to spread the message of Romney’s failures in MA:

This morning on NBC Today, David Axelrod said:  “I think people need to know what the facts are, the facts of where we’ve been over the last three years… and the facts of Governor Romney. He offers himself as an economic guru and savior off of his experience in business. And when he was governor of this state, this state was 47th in job creation. He created huge new debt here – debt went up 16 percent. Incomes went down while… around the country incomes were going up. His was a record of failure… The Boston Globe said that it was one of the worst economic records in the country. And people need to know that because this is the sole basis on which he is running for president.”—

And current MA Governor Deval Patrick said “I’m here on behalf of the people of Massachusetts and the successor, myself, of Governor Romney. And I can tell you, he sold to the people of Massachusetts when he was running for governor the same lines he’s trying to sell to the United States and it just didn’t happen that way… He told us he would be about creating more jobs. We were 47th out of 50 in job creation during his time in office. He said that he would shrink government and make it more efficient. In fact, government grew in size in terms of the workforce. He told us he would bring fiscal discipline and left a structural deficit of over a billion dollars. So the record, which is relevant and indeed his only experience in public leadership, in government leadership, doesn’t point to the case he’s trying to sell to the American people today.”

Ametia was on a conference call with the former Mayor of North Adams for 26 years, MA   John Barrett.  He revealed on the call that then Gov. Romney never came to the city of North Adams, NOT ONCE.  He disengaged from the political/government support system and worked from a strictly business stance.  you can hear John Barrett tell his full story here on C-Span.  “Mitt Romney’s Economic Record as Massachusetts Governor Examined”

David Axelrod, a strategist for President Obama, takes questions from members of the media in front of the State House in Boston Thursday.

  2. Ametia says:

Axelrod is KICKIN’ ASS & taking names. LOL He’s all over the media today. GO AXE!

  3. Ametia says:

BTW; on the call, I asked Ben LaBolt OFA press secretary where are Romney’s tax returns?

Romney keeps his assets off shore in the Cayman Island in swiss bank accounts. Why? He doesn’t want to pay his fair share of USA taxes? He doesn’t want to release them, because he doesn’t want to and will do it in his own time? We should keep DEMANDING that Mitt Romney release his tax returns. President Obama, Bush, all have released theirs. Romney is setting a “precedent” by not releasing his tax returns.

WHERE ARE YOUR TAX RETURNS, MITT ROMNEY?!!!
