Meanwhile, in response to a question about access to abortion services for rape victims, Paul Ryan explained his position to WJL-TV in VA: “I’m very proud of my pro-life record. I’ve always adopted the idea, the position, that the method of conception doesn’t change the definition of life.” http://bit.ly/P3pdAV

Gawker released a trove of previously unreported documents which show, as the New York Times writes, that the“Bain private equity funds in which the Romney family’s trusts are invested appear to have used an aggressive tax approach, which some tax lawyers believe is not legal, to save Bain partners more than $200 million in income taxes and more than $20 million in Medicare taxes.” http://nyti.ms/TZy2jT

And in case you missed it, Romney was unusually candid at a fundraiser last night, acknowledging that big businesses “know how to find ways to get through the tax code [and] save money by putting various things in the places where there are low tax havens around the world for their businesses.“

Obama For America Announces The “Romney-Ryan: Wrong For Women” Tour

CHICAGO –On Saturday, August 25th,Obama for America will kick off a week of activity to highlight how Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are wrong for America’s women and their families. The “Romney-Ryan: Wrong for Women”week of activity will start tomorrow with the Women Vote 2012 Summit in Las Vegas, NV featuring Cecilia Muñoz, Valerie Jarrett and Natalie Portman.

Events highlighting how the Romney-Ryan ticket is too extreme for women and families will continue throughout the week, with events in Philadelphia, Richmond, Raleigh, Cleveland, Manchester, Milwaukee and Tampa, and will feature women who are well aware of how Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan’s policies would impact the health and economic security of women across the country. The women who will crisscross the country for these events include Congresswoman Donna Edwards; women’s health advocate and Georgetown Law graduate Sandra Fluke; Cindy Hewitt, a former Bain employee; Congresswoman Betty McCollum; Congresswoman Gwen Moore; Massachusetts State Rep. Kathi-Anne Reinstein; Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky; DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz; Massachusetts State Senator Karen Spilka and Massachusetts State Rep. Marty Walz.

Unlike President Obama, who signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act during his first days in office and has built a strong record of fighting for policies that strengthen economic and health security for women and their families, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan have shown they won’t stand up for equal pay and women’s access to health care. They would roll back the clock and return women to the exact same failed policies that caused the economic crisis in the first place. American women can’t trust the Romney-Ryan ticket to stand up for them.

Earlier today, the campaign also released a video titled “Republican Women For Obama” with women who identify as Republicans who will be voting for President Obama because they recognize his commitment to the issues that matter most to women and their families.

I don’t think that the women in the video are the only republican women who plan to vote for PBO in November, either, Ametia, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Seriously, the media are palying up Romney’s poll numbers just in time for their clown show next week at the RNC. Did I mention that I am going to Charlotte, NC for the DNC?
