Florida Goes to President Barack Hussein Obama! It’s OFFICIAL: WINS With 332 ELECTORAL VOTES

Ask Floridians how those attempts at VOTER SUPPRESSION worked for them, Governor Rick Scott & GOP.

President Barack Obama will win Florida, CNN projects. It was the only state that had remained uncalled in the presidential race. With the state’s 29 electoral votes, the final nationwide tally is 332 electoral votes for Obama, 206 for Mitt Romney.

Obama reached the needed 270 electoral votes for victory shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, based on CNN projections. Romney called the president to concede about an hour later.

In 2008, by comparison, when Obama also won Florida, he had a total of 365 electoral votes to John McCain’s 173 electoral votes.

Long lines at polling places, lengthy ballots and a large number of absentee ballots delayed the final count in Florida.

More to come…

  1. Take you time and read this article. It’s fking mind-blowing!

Why Romney Never Saw It Coming
He was the numbers guy. But in the end his numbers were all wrong.

    http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2012/11/why_romney_was_surprised_to_lose_his_campaign_had_the_wrong_numbers_bad.html

Mitt Romney says he is a numbers guy, but in the end he got the numbers wrong. His campaign was adamant that public polls in the swing states were mistaken. They claimed the pollsters were over-estimating the number of Democrats who would turn out on Election Day. Romney’s campaign was certain that minorities would not show up for Obama in 2012 the way they did in 2008. “It just defied logic,” said a top aide of the idea that Obama could match, let alone exceed, his performance with minorities from the last election. When anyone raised the idea that public polls were showing a close race, the campaign’s pollster said the poll modeling was flawed and everyone moved on. Internally, the campaign’s own polling—tweaked to represent their view of the electorate, with fewer Democrats—showed a steady uptick for Romney since the first debate. Even on the morning of the election, Romney’s senior advisers weren’t close to hedging. They said he was going to win “decisively.” It seemed like spin, but the Boston Globe reports that a fireworks display was already ordered for the victory. Romney and Ryan thought they were going to win, say aides. “We were optimistic. More than just cautiously optimistic,” says one campaign staffer. When Romney lost, “it was like a death in the family.”

How did the Romney team get it so wrong? According to those involved, it was a mix of believing anecdotes about party enthusiasm and an underestimation of their opponents’ talents. The Romney campaign thought Obama’s base had lost its affection for its candidate. They believed Obama would win only if he won over independent voters. So Romney focused on independents and the economy, which was their key issue. The Republican ground game was focused on winning those voters. “We thought the only way to win was doing well with independents and we were kicking ass with independents,” says a top aide. One senior adviser bet me that if Obama won Ohio, he would donate $1,000 for every point that Romney won independents to my favorite charity. (That would be a $10,000 hit since Romney lost Ohio but won independents by 10 points). In the end, Romney won independents nationally by five points—and it didn’t matter one bit.

    • The Romney campaign thought Obama’s base had lost its affection for its candidate.

      Rolling laughter

LOL Shows you how ignorant & clueless Mitt & Co. are to think Black folks thought PBO was just a passing fancy, a novelty, that would wear off like a drunken high.

      • The Romney campaign was openly dismissive of the Obama ground game. Why are they wasting so much money with neighborhood offices, they asked?

        ______________

Just fking wow! I have to read the article again to fully absorb it all. Their arrogance is truely mind blowing. Mitt Romney based his entire campaign on white voters. He didn’t give a rats ass about any other group. The reason he didn’t concede is because he was STUNNED out of his mind that he lost.

        Popular Vote:
        Obama: 61,811,225
        Romney: 58,580,193

        PERCENT:
        Obama: 50.5%
        Romney: 47.9%

        Electoral College:
        Obama: 332
        Romney: 206

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — President Barack Obama was declared the winner of Florida’s 29 electoral votes Saturday, ending a four-day count with a razor-thin margin that narrowly avoided an automatic recount that would have brought back memories of 2000.

No matter the outcome, Obama had already clinched re-election and now has 332 electoral votes to Romney’s 206.

The Florida Secretary of State’s Office said that with almost 100 percent of the vote counted, Obama led Republican challenger Mitt Romney 50 percent to 49.1 percent, a difference of about 74,000 votes. That was over the half-percent margin where a computer recount would have been automatically ordered unless Romney had waived it.

There is a Nov. 16 deadline for overseas and military ballots, but under Florida law, recounts are based on Saturday’s results. Only a handful of overseas and military ballots are believed to remain outstanding.

Ametia, MN showed up. Senate, House, Voter Suppression and Discrimination Amendments shot down! I was glad to see no votes as well as non-votes out-state. Have a good day all.

Sup, my fellow MinneSnowtan? Yes, folks are smart in MN.

      A little home state bragging
      SMARTYPANTS

People usually think of Minnesota as a “blue state.” And pretty generally that’s true. But anyone who’s been paying attention here knows its more complicated than that.
Just throwing out names like Ventura and Pawlenty should suffice.

Back in 2010 we elected a Democratic Governor (Mark Dayton) and in a historical move, a Republican State House and Senate. You might remember that it led to a government shut-down not too long after the election.

But after yesterday our liberal forebearers can rest a bit easier…we kicked butt and took names in this state.

First of all, we helped re-elect President Barack Obama (53/47) – thus being one of the triumvirate of states that saved David Axelrod’s mustache ;-)

    Where’s that video of Scott?

In Miami-Dade, for instance, so many people were in line at 7 p.m. in certain precincts that some people didn’t vote until after midnight.

The hourslong wait at the polls in some areas, a lengthy ballot and the fact that Gov. Rick Scott refused to extend early voting hours has led some to criticize Florida’s voting process. Some officials have vowed to investigate why there were problems at the polls and how that led to a lengthy vote count.

  7. Ametia says:

Obama’s win in Florida came in part from heavy support from black, Hispanic and younger voters. Exit polls conducted for the Associated Press showed Obama was favored by more than 9 of 10 black voters and 3 of 5 Hispanic voters in Florida. The president also was the choice of two-thirds of voters under age 30.

Mitt Romney led among both white and older voters. THIS IS WHO ROMNEY WAS COUNTING ON TO GET INTO THE WH. MAJOR FAIL!

  8. vitaminlover says:

We knew it all the time!

  9. President Obama becomes 1st Democrat to carry Florida twice in presidential elections since FDR.

  10. Hey Mitch McConnell

How did making President Obama a one term President work out for you? You are a DISGRACE! While you were obstructing, President Obama’s coalition was coming together to stomp a mudhole in the GOP’s obstructing, voter suppressing, voter intimidation ASS…YES WE DID!

    • Ametia says:

Our POTUS is breaking all kinds of records and making MEGA HISTORY.

I hope folks are chronicaling and scrapbooking this presidency. I KNOW i AM. Too much rewriting of history going on in this country.
