3 Chics Politico’s In FULL SUPPORT Of UN Ambassador Susan Rice for Secretary Of State, Or Any Other Position The President Chooses For Her To SERVE

Just so we’re absolutely clear on who’s IN CHARGE AROUND HERE; it’s President Obama.  Now, take a closer look at the man beside him and the woman in the GOP’s crossfire, because, heaven forbid, should she become the next Secretary of State.

Now we all know that Condi Rice is BLACK, and she was Secretary of State.  Never in the history of the United States have we ever had a Black President, Black Attorney General, and Black Secretary of State in the same administration.

So our questions to you are:  What’s all the hoopla about Rice, and why all the negative, unfounded attacks on AG Holder over the “Fast & Furious” debacle?  And let’s not forget the stinky, smelly, malodorous, pile of shit in the room called racism against President Obama which has been unprecedented.

Come after ME; COWARDS

TROUBLED! You bet they are

Go have a seat Susan Collins; the “troubled” meme is as lame as

And this former Congressman-turned tv show host-failure using CODE words like “TEMPERAMENT” AKA ANGRY BLACK WOMAN

Well, tell us all about the temperament you had when they found that dead intern Lori K in your office Joey Scar.

*****************************************************************************

Of course we really need friends like this in the Democratic party, don’t we?

Ben Nelson Criticizes Rice’s Reaction To Consulate Attacks

Nelson said Rice should have stressed that early reports of such incidents are almost always wrong, rather than speaking with such authority. “She wasn’t cautionary and that was a mistake on her part,” Nelson said during his weekly conference call with reporters.  He rejected the suggestion, however, that the Obama administration tried to cover up the situation.

What a condescending bunch of nonsense, Ben Nelson. Your exit from the Senate can’t come soon enough.

The President has spoken, and we hope he selects Susan Rice as America’s next Secretary of State.

So now we come to the position of Secretary of State, because, if the ATTACKS from the GOP is about Susan Rice’s fittness to be the successor to Hillary Clinton, we think it’s fitting to know exactly what that job entails. Susan Rice is the UN Ambassador, not the Secretary of State, at least not yet.

SECRETRY OF STATE’S JOB DESCRIPTION

Foreign Relations

The Secretary of State is the chief advisor to the President of the United States on foreign matters both political and military. While the Secretary of State has no military authority, he or she is often uniquely able to gauge the response of a given nation to a particular military act.

Management
The Secretary of State is responsible for the administration and management of foreign embassies and consulate offices. Foreign trade missions and even some intelligence assets report directly to the Secretary of State, and the consular officers are all sworn to obey the directives set forth by the President of the United States, sworn through the Secretary of State.

What we’d like to know is why hasn’t SoS Clinton been attacked? After all she did say this:

While the theories about The GOP wanting Susan Rice out of the picture, so that John Kerry can step in as SoS, and Scott Brown can get back in as Senator….. a distraction….yadah, yadah, yahda!

And to the media,***LOOKING@YOUCNN* who keep pushing the John Kerry for Secretary of State, “easy to nominate” talking points

All of the GOP, any Democrats, and other threatened white folks can have a STADIUM full-O-seats, because you don’t get to dictate to the President who he can select for his cabinet.

SG2 here:

We all know what the real deal is with this fake outrage about Ambassador Rice. It’s called racism! The GOP is attacking Ambassador Rice to get back at President Obama. President Obama, FLOTUS, Valerie Jarrett, Susan Rice,Eric Holder..the GOP is intimidated by all that black power. It’s very threatening to them. I advise the GOP to get therapy and eat your peas. We’re not going to the back of the bus!

Go, Ambassador Rice! We stand in solidarity with you! No doubt about it!

Susan Rice: Just Another ‘Incompetent’ Black Woman
    Dec 1, 2012 4:45 AM EST

You can disagree with Susan Rice, but our U.N. ambassador is not an incompetent liar, as conservatives have implied. Sophia Nelson on the old stereotypes at play in the GOP’s attacks.

Why all this anger and investigation now into Ambassador Rice’s every decision, dating back to 1998 when she was assistant secretary of State under President Bill Clinton? Did I miss a memo? Has she been nominated for a new job yet in the second Obama administration?

Sorry folks, it just doesn’t add up.

I have a plausible explanation for all of this rancor, but many of you won’t like it. The fact is that stereotypes die hard, particularly when they are about accomplished black women in America. Ambassador Rice, like Michelle Obama and millions of other well-educated professional black women, catch hell everyday in corporate America, whether they be in industry, government, entertainment, journalism, or academia. It is a fact borne out in countless studies, surveys, books (mine included), and reports: black women are the hardest demographic to retain and advance, and the most likely to file EEOC complaints or allege other problems of race and gender bias.

The problem for us as black women is that we never really know if it is our gender or race. How could we? We have the unique burden of being both black and female. Unlike our white female counterparts, we are not white. And unlike our black male counterparts, we are not male. They each have one “advantage,” while we have neither.

Hi Ametia. I agree completely. They (my party) are making too big a deal out of this. Weather its terrorists or a mob, its still a criminal act. We should all be coming together as Americans and think about the tragic deaths in Benghazi. I think picking John Kerry would be a big mistake. Ambassador Rice would be a great choice. With so much going wrong in our Country, you would think our Congressional leaders have better things to do than blame someone for how they perceived how those tragic events unfolded. Hopefully the President is not forced to cave in on selecting Ambassador Rice. And i am with you 100% about racism. I have no use for it and i did not raise my son to believe in that crap either. Its about what’s inside, not outside. If someone wants to disagree with anothers politics, that is fine. America was made on that tradition. But not racism. As long as i am breathing i will never see an African American treated that way again. Thanks for listening. Bill.

Susan Rice May Have Major Financial Stake in Keystone Pipeline
    —By Maggie Caldwell
    Wed Nov. 28, 2012 2:32 PM PST

Susan Rice, thought by many to be Obama’s number one pick for Secretary of State, holds millions of dollars in investments in Canadian oil companies and banks with stakes in the $7 billion Keystone XL Pipeline, according to a piece out today from OnEarth, a magazine published by the environmental advocacy group Natural Resources Defense Council. As head of the State Department, Rice would have ultimate authority in determining the fate of the pipeline, which would link northern Alberta’s remote oil sands fields to Texas’ Gulf Coast refineries.

The piece reveals that Rice has significant holdings (PDF) in more than a dozen Canadian oil companies and banks that would benefit from the growth of the Canadian tar sands industry and the construction of the controversial pipeline. OnEarth’s Scott Dodd finds that nearly a third of Rice’s personal net worth—estimated in 2009 to be between $23.5 million and $43.5 million—is invested in Canadian oil producers, pipeline operators, and other energy companies including several with egregious environmental records on both sides of the border. Financial disclosure reports further show that Rice has between $300,000 and $600,000 invested in TransCanada, the company that is seeking the permit from the State Department to build sections of the pipeline from Oklahoma to the Canadian border.

What More Does John McCain Want From Susan Rice?

    By Charles P. Pierce

    at 1:35PM

Susan Rice has explained herself. Everyone else in government seems satisfied except John McCain and Lindsey Graham.

Well, the one thing you have to give the spotlight-humpers currently trying to make a meal out of the career of Susan Rice is they’re nothing if not predictable.

Rice, and acting CIA director Michael Morell, took time out of their busy schedules to go up to Capitol Hill and soothe the wounded fee-fees of John McCain, Lindsey Graham, and the inexplicable Kelly Ayotte, who has decided that the foreign-policy credentials she burnished keeping New Hampshire safe from General Burgoyne have made her a serious player, and who apparently has been adopted by Grumpypants and Huckleberry Closetcase because they can convince her that Susan Rice went to prom with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. So Rice and Morell give them the courtesy of a meeting that these three had no real right to demand, and this is what we get from Huckleberry when the meeting is over.

The concerns I have are greater today than they were before, and we’re not even close to getting the basic answers,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), joined by McCain and Sen. Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), told reporters after the closed-door meeting. “I would place a hold on anybody who wanted to be promoted for any job who had a role in the Benghazi situation.”

This whole long con has passed now into the realm of pure McCarthyism.

“We are significantly troubled by many of the answers that we got and some that we didn’t get,” said McCain, an Arizona Republican. “It is clear the information that [Rice] gave the American people was incorrect when she said it was a spontaneous demonstration triggered by a hateful video. It was not, and there was compelling evidence at the time that that was certainly not the case.”

No details. Nothing specific. Just John McCain, being troubled, as he has been since the country declined to make him its president. What happened with Rice and the talking-points, and why it happened, has been explained at length by everyone closely involved in the episode, including David Petraeus, whose word once was gospel, before the episode of The General, His Wife, The Other Woman, The Other General, The Other Other Woman and The Lovesick Shirtless FBI guy erupted.

What more can Rice do? She has explained herself. Petraeus has explained what happened and why. The entire apparatus of government seems satisfied with their explanation of the tragedy in Benghazi and has moved on. Rice can’t help it if Fox News is a monomaniacal propaganda mill, or that McCain is little more than a steaming lump of frustrated ambition at this point. The Foreign Relations committee will have at her, if the president follows through and nominates her, which he almost has to do now. The “American people,” on whose behalf McCain and Graham (and Ayotte, the permanent parenthetical in this lash-up) allegedly are acting, have accepted the explanation, where they are paying attention at all. This must baffle McCain, who believes that there is no country outside of a green room any more.

McCain and Graham — and the hapless Ayotte, who is clearly, and pathetically, looking past Rice all the way to the 2016 Iowa caucuses — have nothing. They want to beat up on Rice simply because they can’t beat up on the president, although McCain made a run at that over the weekend. And they came out of the meeting and ran their mouths about what went on because they knew Rice wasn’t going to go into details of that meeting in public. They are a pair of cowards, with a feckless rookie in train, and they are playing dangerous games with the country’s security. They hereafter should be ignored and, if Graham goes through with his threat of putting a hold on Rice’s nomination, Harry Reid should move his desk out onto Constitution Avenue, and no Democrat should cooperate with this clown ever again.

I haven’t posted a comment here in awhile–actually months! I spent the last six months of the Presidential Election season promoting President Obama on my Facebook page. (And thank God all of OUR hard work COLLECTIVELY paid off !) Over the last few months, however, I have continued to follow you girls. I haven’t forgotten about 3chicspolitico. ;)

Ametia, I just have to tell you that you hit the mark here tonight with your post on Ambassador Rice. It is by far the best written defense of her that I’ve seen on any blogs. Your words are my sentiments exactly. And like you, SG2, and Zizi said above, I don’t trust the Clintons either.

I shall share this blog post on my Facebook page as I’m still using it to support the President in his second term. Keep on pushing…because we still ‘ain’t gonna let nobody turn US around’… ;)

    • Ametia says:

Hi NCW. So good to see you. I know you’ve worked tirelessy to help get PBO elected. And you know what; SG2 called out Hillary for not supporting Susan Rice in the thread, but retracted after Ed made the announcement. We knew, and now that we’ve actually seen what she’s said. It was not A FULL-THROATED defense at all. Just Rice is doing a fine job, or some such. Who does Clinton thinks she’s fooling?

    • Hey NCW!

So nice to see you. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen your fonts. And it’s always a welcome pleasure. Thank you for dropping in. We’re in this together.

We got to keep on pushing…

AND WHO IS THE CURRENT SECRETARY OF STATE?

  11. rikyrah says:

    Go Dr. Rice.

she is more than qualified for the job of Secretary of State.

    PERIOD

  12. zizi2 says:

Hillary did not “defend” Amb Rice. All she did was repeat what Pres. Obama said that Amb Rice was doing a good job. Hillary Clinton’s silence is quite telling, precisely because the Bengahzi lapses emanate from her state Dept. yet she has sat there and allowed Susan Rice to be lynched. And now the emoprogs have followed suit to disqualify her because she has investments in TransCanada. but are silent on the fact that the decision about keystone XL is being made by Hillary Clinton.

In 2008 when Hillary was nominated she and her husband were allowed to divest of financial holdings that posed potential conflicts of interest. Nobody disqualified her because of that. yet PL & Emoprogs are already screeching to high heaven about Amb Rice having committed a grave sin of having investments in an oil company.

    It galls me.

    • Ametia says:

Hi Zizi. Good to see you. SG2; CALLED it. I thought it ODD that Ed Schultz just dropped that lil line about ‘Clinton standing up for Rice, and then moving on to the next rant.

Yes; Hillary is certainly the captain of this fiasco as SoS, and she had not spoken out in Susan Rice’s defense. I don’t trust the Clintons, and I’ve said it time and again, I’d never vote for another one to step into the Oval Office.

I LOATHE these folks, really, I do.
