3 Chics Presents: Trayvon Martin, Gone But NEVER Forgotten

Trayvon Martin's Prom PictureWe’re all caught up in the horror of Trayvon Martin getting murdered while carrying AZ Ice Tea and a bag of Skittles, and demanded justice for him. Well that justice has not seen resolution yet.

George Zimmerman is still playing games while waiting trial for the murder. He’s selling his autograph to raise money! How long will this madness go on?

Meanwhile, in the Stand your Ground state of FLORIDA, Jordan Davis was shot and killed by an older white  registered gun owner for listening to loud music. Michael Dunn fired 8 rounds into the vehicle Jordan Davis was riding in because he felt threatened. Two of those bullets struck Jordan Davis killing him and Michael Dunn fled the scene. Jordan Davis was unarmed. There was no weapon. Don’t think that the battle of white men killing our boys in the name of SYG is over. Far from it. This is why this law needs to be gone. It’s an excuse to kill and get away with it.

The killing of Trayvon Martin ripped our hearts out and opened old crusted wounds. Now we are faced with another senseless killing of an innocent kid. If you’re walking or riding in black skin, YOU’RE  a threat. Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis died needlessly. They were 17 year old kids doing nothing wrong. The SYG law puts young black kids lives in danger. It needs to be GONE! These kids deaths will not be in vain because we will not stop until justice is served and Stand Your Ground law is history. No doubt about it!

  3. I have 2 sons. When they got their drivers license, we had the talk on how to behave IF ever stopped by the police. I pounded it into their heads because I was frightened beyond description. As a mother of black boys, I am tired of living in fear.

    1. Do what the officer tells you.
    2. Keep your hands on the wheel.
    3. Make no sudden moves.
    4. Please use Yes sir & No sir

For young black boys this could mean the difference between life or death.

  4. Zimmerman Edits out “F’cking Coon” from 911 Tape He Filed with Court in lawsuit against NBC

    http://m.dailykos.com/story/2012/12/07/1167991/–Zimmerman-Edits-out-F-cking-Coon-from-911-Tape-He-gave-the-Court-in-lawsuit-against-NBC

George Zimmerman filed a lawsuit against NBC claiming that NBC made him (George) look racist in a edited 911 tape they aired.

The thing is, when George Zimmerman filed his Complaint with the Court, he, Zimmerman, edited out the portion of the 911 tape that George makes himself look racist when he said, “F’cking Coons.” (listen to Time Stamp 2:22)

Also, at Time Stamp 3:20, on the tape you can hear George knocking or taping on a door and if you listen closely you can hear George say: “Keep an eye on my truck.” Who did George say that to, and why did he edit those words out of the Transcript he filed with the Court?

Try to wrap your head around that one.

Zimmerman files a lawsuit with the Court claiming he has suffered damages of “emotional distress” from an edited 911 tape that he claims made him him look racist — but at the same time — Zimmerman gives the Court his own edited version of same 911 tape by cutting out his own comment: “F’cking Coons”

  5. New Zimmerman motions: Trayvon Martin shooter asks judge to remove GPS monitor

    http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/trayvon-martin/os-george-zimmerman-motions-gps-20121207,0,3545703.story

George Zimmerman’s defense team has filed several new motions in advance of next week’s hearing in his second-degree murder case, including a request to remove Zimmerman from GPS monitoring and allow him to travel throughout the state.

Zimmerman, the defense argues, “needs to be able to travel more freely throughout the State of Florida for reasons of his own personal safety and… to have the ability to assist his defense” by meeting with witnesses, including experts.

A Neighborhood Watch Captain went on an illegal patrol and profiled an innocent child as a rogue, thug criminal, who he decided, without reason, deserved to be followed in the darkness and when he caught him he questioned and killed him. His only reason given for his erroneous beliefs was that the child was black and did not belong in the neighborhood. To defend himself with claims of “stand your ground” and “self defense” he concocted a series of demonstrable lies, claiming the child tried to take away the weapon he himself carried everywhere he went and that he was beaten to within an inch of his life, by Trayvon Martin, who had no dna or other trace evidence on his hands. Even while Zimmerman was covered with his own blood. Evidence that Martin never touched Zimmerman at all.

  9. “The Hunt is On, and Brother, You’re the Prey”

    http://networkedblogs.com/Fx2AU

In his beautiful song entitled A New World Order, Curtis Mayfield said, “The hunt is on, and brother you’re the prey.” Sadly, that remains true today. We are hunted by vigilantes like Zimmerman. We are hunted by racist police officers. And yes, we are even hunted by some of our own misguided brothers and sisters.

Earlier this year, George Zimmerman hunted and shot down Trayvon Martin for being a black teenage in a white neighborhood. After killing Trayvon, Zimmerman was free as a bird for over forty days. If we did not protest, Zimmerman would probably be free today. At least for a brief moment in time, we were outraged. We mobilized, organized, wrote, marched and spoke. Once the killer was finally arrested, we were pacified. We took off our t-shirts, put away our protest signs and went back to sleep. As Ayesha says on Lupe’s new cd, “and two weeks later, it was back to normal.” After all was said and done, the Stand Your Ground law remained in place as a license to kill black people. If black people formed self-defense groups and openly brandished firearms, perhaps then Florida would repeal that law.

  11. The black male. A demographic. A sociological construct. A media caricature. A crime statistic. Aside from rage or lust, he is seldom seen as an emotionally embodied person.

    STOP KILLING OUR KIDS, DAMMIT!

  12. Excellent article.

Hey America! Can you please stop killing our (usually) innocent Black male children now?

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/12/02/1166032/-Hey-America-Can-you-please-stop-killing-our-usually-innocent-Black-male-children-now

I’m now at the place where I am 100% comfortable saying that it is yet again open season on Black people, especially young Black men, in America. With Jordan Davis’ murder last week, I fell off the psychic precipice I was hovering on increasingly in the face of more and more of these types of deaths of innocent Black people this past few years. The precipice of hoping and praying and wanting so much to believe despite the evidence that America was not heading backwards at an accelerated pace in this country where the value of Black people, Black lives, is concerned. All while celebrating the nation’s first Black president, no less.
I’m not sure that any rational Black person can conclude differently at this point. I understand why Jordan Davis’ own mother and father feel so compelled to quash any idea that their son’s murder was a hate crime or about race (for reasons not too hard to imagine since, of course, in America the minute Black people start complaining about racism being a big problem the majority of white people of all political stripes start tuning out. Makes sense when you know that around 81% of whites the last time someone checked don’t believe that racism’s a big problem at all even though none of them actually have to live with racism’s potentially-deadly consequences for their children). But their denial doesn’t change the reality of the situation, when another innocent young Black boy is shot dead for no rational reason at all yet its not even something that is all that surprising:

He doesn’t make it. He doesn’t take another breath. He doesn’t get to finish high school. He doesn’t get to go to his prom. He doesn’t get to experience his first day on a college campus. He doesn’t get to marry the love of his life. He doesn’t get to have children. He doesn’t get to grow old. He doesn’t get to die in peace. Stereotypes of a black male, truly understood. Sorry Biggie, this time it ain’t all good. Jordan Davis died when he got to the hospital. He was just 17. Shot by a man who didn’t like his loud music and who said that someone in Jordan’s SUV pointed a gun at him, so he felt “threatened.” No gun was ever found, except for the one that took Jordan’s life.

  15. Melissa Harris-Perry Mourns Boy Shot Dead In Florida

    [wpvideo WF0oVEtj]

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/02/melissa-harris-perry-jordan-davis_n_2227793.html#comments

Melissa Harris-Perry mourned the death of Jordan Davis, an unarmed black teenager shot and killed in Florida, on Saturday.

Davis, a 17-year old boy, was shot by Michael David Dunn last week during an exchange about loud music at a gas station. Dunn fired shots into the SUV where Davis was in the backseat, claiming that he saw a shotgun in the car. No shotgun has been found and Dunn has been charged with second degree murder.

On Saturday, Harris-Perry drew parallels between Davis’ death and the killing of Trayvon Martin, a black teenager who was also unarmed when he was shot and killed by George Zimmermann earlier this year. One similarity, she said, was “that sense for those of us who know them and love them that this country is no place for young black men.”

    • Ametia says:

There is a place for young black men in AMERICA. It is old white men who are threatened by young BLACK MEN’s existence in this world, because some old white men are crazy, racists, fearful, unevolved, murdering, insecure animals.

  16. Very well done and I am going to reblog this because it is so important. Thanks for the excellent blog. Hugs, Barbara
