Videos | GOP ABANDONED Vote On Hurricane Sandy Relief Funds: Rep. Peter King Says “Indefensible!”

One has to question the motives of the GOP for not voting on and passing the Sandy Reief Funds bill. It would be too much like say, DOING THEIR JOBS for the AMERICAN people. But like clockwork, Speaker Boehner’s letting the nutjobs in his party run the asylum.

boot on the neck

USA TODAY: WASHINGTON — House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio indicated late Tuesday the 112th Congress would end its term without voting on federal emergency aid for victims of Superstorm Sandy.

“The speaker is committed to getting this bill passed this month,” Boehner’s spokesman, Brendan Buck, said in an email.

Buck also emailed a news article reporting that Craig Fugate, head of the the Federal Emergency Management Agency, said his agency will not need additional money until spring.

FEMA money will not cover everything needed by states hit by Sandy. Other needs include claims filed under the National Flood Insurance Program, repairs to mass transit and Community Development Block grants needed to help localities rebuild.

Peter King:  “I think it’s unprecedented for the United States Congress to walk away from a natural disaster,” King said, adding that he was not given a reason for the postponement. “This to me is just walking away from responsibility.” Seriously?!  King said this?

You’re damned skippy it’s INDEFENSIBLE.

Nancy Pelosi Demands House bring Sandy Relief legislation to the floor

TPM:  New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) on Wednesday released a joint statement in which they criticized the House of Representatives for adjourning on Tuesday night without voting on legislation to provide relief to victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The statement:

With all that New York and New Jersey and our millions of residents and small businesses have suffered and endured, this continued inaction and indifference by the House of Representatives is inexcusable. It has now been 66 days since Hurricane Sandy hit and 27 days since President Obama put forth a responsible aid proposal that passed with a bipartisan vote in the Senate while the House has failed to even bring it to the floor. This failure to come to the aid of Americans following a severe and devastating natural disaster is unprecedented. The fact that days continue to go by while people suffer, families are out of their homes, and men and women remain jobless and struggling during these harsh winter months is a dereliction of duty. When American citizens are in need we come to their aid. That tradition was abandoned in the House last night.

Could it be that New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut are all Democratic strong hold states? Does the GOP expect a GOP Governor to scream out for mercy? *looking@uChrisChristie*

American people hate CONGRESS. Not all of congress, just the HOUSE

Obama urges House Republicans to quickly pass Sandy aid package

    WASHINGTON | Wed Jan 2, 2013 11:43am EST
(Reuters) – President Barack Obama urged Republicans in the House of Representatives to vote Wednesday on a $60.4 billion Superstorm Sandy disaster aid bill, saying hard-hit states need the federal aid urgently to help rebuild after the October 29 storm.

“When tragedy strikes, Americans come together to support those in need. I urge Republicans in the House of Representatives to do the same, bring this important request to a vote today, and pass it without delay for our fellow Americans,” Obama said in a statement.

Rep. King calls for donation cut-off to fellow Republicans over stalled Sandy aid bill

“I’m saying anyone from New York and New Jersey who contributes one penny to congressional Republicans is out of their minds,” Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told Fox News. “What they did last night was put a knife in the back of New Yorkers and New Jerseyans.”

LOL King’s one to talk about being out of one’s mind. When did he come to this conclusion?
