African American History |Aesha Ash | Ballet

aesha ashAesha Ash was born in Rochester, New York, and started dance at the age of five. At 13 years old she enrolled at the School of American Ballet in New York City. She joined the New York City Ballet at the age of 18, where she remained for eight years. Ms. Ash then joined the legendary Bejart Ballet, in Switzerland as a soloist. After enjoying success in Europe, Ms. Ash returned to the United States in 2005 and joined Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet. Since June 2007, Ms. Ash has been a freelance guest artist.
