Hi, everyone. I haven’t been on this blog for a while, because I started a new job (after 5 years of underemployment or unemployment) and outlining my dissertation for my PhD. I’ve missed y’all, but I’m back, fresh and ready to blog.
My friend, the Rude Pundit, shares the same sentiment about the GOP that I do, so he gets the hat tip for this:
So Republicans have said, through their actions, that the only way the federal government can function is if they rule it. All of it. This is not a blithe assertion. Even when bills are crafted in a way to make the GOP happy (like the background check legislation or, going back to 2009, the bank bailout), even when they are in the room writing the damn things, even when they get to propose a bunch of amendments, they filibuster or threaten to vote them down. And don’t get them started on Obama’s judicial and other nominees.
He’s not lying, either. The whole GOP in some form or fashion, has been in cahoots to just flat out obstruct any and everything designed to help those who are NOT.LIKE.THEM. Of course, when you are aided and abetted by the likes of Senator Critters like the soon departing Max Baucus (D-Big Pharma) and Senate Majority Leader Harry “Soggy Pop-Tart” Reid….ugh.
His Rudeness summed it up perfectly:
But it’s something else entirely for one party to assert that they will not allow government to function unless they are in charge. That is new. That is insidious. That is frightening. And it is more of a threat to the United States than a dozen Bostons (sic) marathon bombers.
Who, BTW, were home-grown terrorists, just like Timothy McVeigh, and Eric Rudolph. But I never heard of Senator Lindsay “my slip is showing” Graham demanding that their rights to due process under the law be denied, while handing them over to a military tribunal for torture and fun.
Our government at work, folks. Forgive me for bitching, because this isn’t the Government I voted for and never will accept.

Thanks, everyone for the kind wishes. The irony is that I’m working in a position that will hopefully allow me to pay it forward for other unemployed workers.
The GOP has committed Economic Treason against this country for decades. Straight up, no chaser.

Got a few Blue Dog Democrats among that bunch, starting with the newest Senate Critter, Heidi Heitkamp.
Honestly, I wish those who are so quick to hang the “progressive” label on these candidates would make them prove their progressive cred before blogging to ask for money on their behalf during campaign season. Candidates like Heitkamp and Baucus spew the progressive, democratic shyt until they get office, just like the RATS on the Supreme Court (Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Scalia).

We need to vote every single DEMOCRAT out in 2014, at least those who haven’t already retired. *looking@youmaxbaucus,*et.al. The media will continue pushing the lies, distortions, fear mongering, and carrying the GOP’s water. When you have a Senate who votes against 90% of American voters, you know who they’re serving. Girl, thanks for the congrats. It’s a mixed blessing, in that I’m not where my creds should have me, because of the curse of being long-term unemployed. The good news is a steady paycheck and benefits – which the unemployed miss out on when they lose their gig.
My vote is not only for voting out all fake-Democrats, but just have an old fashioned housecleaning. If some CBC members get caught, so be it.
