It’s worth mentioning too that this controversy happened in tandem with Rand’s sudden decision not to attend a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the legality of the drone war. He was supposed to attend, then his office said he had a scheduling conflict. I don’t doubt that that’s true, but given his 13-hour filibuster and its political aftermath, this hearing should have been a top priority for Rand. What could have been more important than following up his 13-hours of anti-drone rhetoric with an actual Senate hearing scrutinizing the President’s drone policies not just at home but abroad?

Exactly. These “libertarians” have alot of peeps fooled with their “limiting government” “anti-war” rhetoric. They are only against government when they think it benefits the poor and they aren’t against war because they care about the actual victims of those wars, it just fits into their pacifist ideology. Make no mistake, war is despicable, but the reason is because of the peoples’ whose lives get destroyed by them, something that Rand Paul has no respect for.

Ron Paul’s vibrant fan base is in open rebellion today over Rand Paul’s perceived reversal on domestic drone strikes. The Kentucky senator, whose famous 13-hour Senate floor filibuster did much to strengthen his ties with his father’s hardcore following, told Fox Business Network on Tuesday he’s OK with drone strikes on American citizens who, for instance, rob a liquor store.

They literally wrap themselves in flags (at least flag pins) but if you were to make a checklist of all of America’s founding and ongoing principles, as a democracy and society, you’d find a substantial Republican checklist of things they despise.
It’s kind of sad that the public is unfazed by how anti-American the GOP has become, we almost expect it to be expressed on any issue or after any event. Instead of outrage though, the reactions is more, “Yep, knew they’d say something like that.”
