I am a Canadian and I had the great privilege to volunteer for the Obama-Biden campaign in 2008 in Louisiana and I made some phone calls in Florida in the 2012 election.

That is so important for young people to know! Our children are taught they ONLY come from slaves…downtrodden, hopeless slaves. They are not taught their history, the courage and genius of it all. And no, I don’t mean the queens and kings of Africa..I mean they aren’t taught the incredible bravery, intelligence and ingenuity of the ones that made it thru the middle passage and got us to here. Our kids don’t know this, heck, WE barely know it! We hear it right here on this sight when we find great tidbits about our history and make it our topic for a week! All of us are constantly learning about people we have not heard one word about. Our kids need to know that the totality of our history in this country is not just picking cotton and waiting for General Grant to come save us.
ALL.OF.THIS.
And that we don’t just use our GOD-GIVEN creativity to serve just the NEGROES, but ALL HUMANITY, just as we’ve always done as a people. We already know that the 2520s have stolen, lied, and TRIED co-opt our culture and other cultures, but we know IT ALL FLOWS FROM GOD to us. We’re just the open, willing VEHICLES.

Yes; he was. And his and FLOTUS’ messages to our young black men and women is the same message they’d hear in their churches, if they attend. This is why we have to be vigilant and not allow anyone to DESTROY our religious/spiritual foundations.
Did you hear him tell the men to go into their barber shops, on the B-Ball courts, and churches and help spread the positive, uplifing messages, tell folks the TRUTH about LIFE. I.KNOW.THAT’S.RIGHT.

No can’t say that I know or remember Genarlow Wilson. LOL I’ve got all three links open and ready for the ceremony.
Genarlow Wilson was imprisoned for having teen sex with a White girl.
That’s it! I guess Genarlow Wilson just flipped that incident around and kept moving forward, so happy for him. Congratulatons! We need our men out in the world making a difference in our communities.
