hat tip-The Obama Diary:
Published on May 28, 2013
First Lady Michelle Obama delivers remarks before joining school children from across the country to harvest the summer crop from the White House Kitchen Garden. For this harvest, the First Lady invited children from two New Jersey communities that were affected by Hurricane Sandy, as well as all the children who helped plant the garden in April so they could see the fruits of their labors.
The picture with the First Lady holding the fennel so the young boy could sniff it has to be one of my all time favorites. It tells such a powerful story and is very revealing about the heart and concerns of this wonderful woman. I can’t get enough of Michelle Obama, she has quietly changed the way we interact with our politicians and their spouses.
She started the close hug that every politician is now mimicking, but hers is the real deal. From the heart.
Lane, your words were never truer. That photo is my favorites too. Silently helping gour youth to connect and partake of God’s gifts. She’s showing us all what really matters. IT’S THE HEART CONNECTION.
Gotta LOVE our FLOTUS; she just shines with love for the garden and being with the youth. She leads by EXAMPLE. And it is EXEMPLARY. Thanks for the photos and video, Rikyrah.
