State vs George Zimmerman in the Murder of Trayvon Martin

Judge Debra Nelson's Court1Now Is The Time for Justice4TrayvonMartin

After hearing Trayvon Martin’s death screams it was so disturbing, so piercing until I couldn’t get them out of my mind. When I laid down at night.. I heard them. The screams rang in my ears.  I had to ask God to heal my mind. It was just too much to bear. Then the unthinkable happened. George Zimmerman STOLE a dying child’s last screams and claimed them as his own. Let that swirl around in your head for a bit. It’s offensive & wicked beyond description.

Trayvon’s death galvanized a nation. He became our son!  We demanded justice and here we are at trial. May jurors do their jobs and follow the evidence. Lets pray justice prevails. The world is watching!

  1. Anyone with a functioning brain know that’s a child’s screams. IF Trayvon was white and Zimmerman black they’d be asking for murder 1. We don’t have it twisted.

  2. Congressman Bobby Rush Reprimanded for Hoodie Worn During Trayvon Martin Speech

  4. Ametia says:

This murdering POS gets to sit in a courtroom at his own trial for murder wearing a bullet proof vest. Damn shame Trayvon wasn’t wearing one under his hoodie.

  5. Court is in recess until tomorrow 9am est.

    • Ametia says:

Thank you for covering this trial, SG2.

      • YVW! I am very passionate about justice being done for this kid. The hate out there is toxic. It’s very depressing. The racists say the most brutal things ever to be uttered about a dead child. No conscience, no morals, no soul. Just toxic hate!

      • Liza says:

Yes, thanks, SG2. There is no way to get through this alone.

        • I’m happy we’re all together. I need the support too. I can lean on y’all when O’Mara starts to drag a dead kid through the mud. I’ll never understand how any adult can do that to a child. But then again…to the racists Trayvon is not human. It’s their mindset.

      • Liza says:

O’Mara has already shown us what he’s made of and what he’s willing to do to win. I suspect that for him it is all about the fame even if he’s on the wrong side of history. At the very least he will get a book deal.

        • It’s always about the money. Nothing else matters to some but money. Morals be damned!

          • Xena says:

O’Mara’s conflict is with Zidiots who promise to donate money if he proceeds in the case the way they want him to. Also, they want him to say certain things in the media. No matter how many times it has been refuted in court that there is no evidence that GZ’s nose was broken, and no matter how many times in court it has been refuted that Witness 6 recanted and changed his story admitting he saw no “MMA” blows, O’Mara repeats that like a mantra to the public.

      • Liza says:

Yeah, O’Mara doesn’t seem to be morally conflicted, he must’ve sold out a long time ago.

      • rikyrah says:

I have to also put my thanks in, SG2.

  6. Judge Nelson instructing potential jurors not to discuss this case with anyone or do any research, do not read blogs, Twitter or emails. Potential jurors are not to watch the news or read newspapers.

    • Ametia says:

I’m not clear here. so the jury is NOT being sequestered, is this correct?

It’s going to be a nightmare trying to keep these potential jurors from INFORMATION about this trial.

  7. Ametia says:

Is Judge Nelson going over the jury questionaires with the defense and state procecutors?

  8. Juror B76 is up.

    • Ask why kid was out at night buying candy?

      • Ametia says:

Trayvon was 17 years old. He doesn’t need an explanation as to the whys, whats whesn about him buying candy. GTFOH.

To these CaCs, the only crime Trayvon commited was being BLACK.

        • That’s their trick when one refers to him as a kid, then they ask why his parents allow him to walk to the store at night? Hell, the kid was a minor but he wasn’t 7 years old.

          • racerrodig says:

Not to mention he left about 6 PM….not 1 AM. WTF is wrong with these people.

      • Ametia says:

What is wrong with these people? These people think Trayvon didn’t have a right to be out at night, wearing a hoodie, walking, carrying SKITTLES & ARIZONA ICED TEA. , because he WAS BLACK!

Place a white 17 year old boy behind this description and situation, and he’d of made it to his destination alive that night.

  9. Bye, Juror B30! He says he doesn’t watch the news but most folks his age have a routine.

I remember my Mom & Dad glued to the news at 6pm. We were like…”I don’t wanna watch the news”. LOL!

  10. Juror B30: age 65, doesn’t watch news, too much negative.

    uh huh..

    • Liza says:

Hey, SG2, I really like the pictures with this post. I haven’t seen some of them including the ones of Trayvon dressed up in the black suit.

      • TY, Liza! Isn’t he too handsome in his suit? I love the pose with his coat thrown over the shoulders.

      • Liza says:

He was a good looking kid, had a very sweet face and smile.

      • Liza says:

Yeah, he did. That is one of things about this that is so profound (and painful) for me on a personal level because I grew up in Jax but left Florida in 1975. That is the progress we can see, that Trayvon wanted a career in aviation and didn’t see any obstacles. That is the way it should be. But his murder is a throwback to those other times, and not even a throwback because this is what has never changed. And I can’t reconcile this.

So now, after all these years, I know that it is just the rule of law that will stand between the Zimmermans and the Trayvon Martins. That is why this trial is so important.

      • Friends of Trayvon Martin: Jerome Horton and Darrell Green

      • Ametia says:

It’s IMPERATIVE to keep the photos of Trayvon out there, because the wingnuts and haters are trying to DEHUMANIZE this boy. We’re not going to let them.

        • Do you know those ignorant people are still complaining about the media showing a photo of a young kid? I asked. How old do you want the photos to be? He was a 17 year old kid. There aren’t any older photos. Stupid addled brain people!

      • Liza says:

No, I had not seen that video yet. Amazing, isnt it? He was just a kid, fascinated by aviation, dreaming about what he was going to be.

  11. Ametia says:

Let’s GET REAL here. There’s no human living in FLORIDA that hasn’t not been exposed to the murder of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman. Just like with OJ Simpson, so jury selection had better be as honest as they can pick one here.

  12. Ametia says:

I don’t think sista’s gonna make this jury. She’s too willing.

    • I concur.

      • Ametia says:

The dude being questioned now is bullshitting. He sounds like a Faux Noise junkie. He knows exactly what went down, and won’t be an impartial juror either.

      • A Fox watcher.

      • Deborah says:

@SouthernGirl2: Great blog! I will be here for support and strength. My own is now 18, and will be graduating from HS. We all think about what the Martin family has been through and will go through once the trial starts! TM was so adorable! He was a sweet kid, and quite handsome! What the racists and bigots are doing to this kid, is despicable and reprehensible but in my heart, I know that Justice will be done. I even had a dream of Sybrina and Tracy, making their victim impact statements and letting Fogen and his famiily know how despicable they are and how they painted their son as a thief, a thug and a menace to societyII. I look at Fogen and wonder how does he live with himself? How dare he steal the cries of this boy and then LIE on this boy??? He is going straight to HELL along with his brother!

      • Hi Deborah

Here’s the deal. The racists don’t think of him as a human and that is why they can smear his name and label him a menace to society thug. In their minds he’s not worthy of life or justice. We see how they openly treat our President. It’s hate that has been taught and passed down from generation to generation.

      • Deborah,

Excuse my manners. Welcome to 3ChicsPolitico. I got so caught up until my mind just went soft. Glad to have you here discussing the case with us.

Fox News guest suggests Trayvon was armed: ‘You could kill somebody’ with iced tea

    By David Edwards
    Monday, June 10, 2013 11:34 EDT

A Fox News guest on Monday suggested that George Zimmerman’s lawyers will be able to argue that their client used reasonable force when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin, who was only carrying Skittles and a can of Arizona Iced Tea, because “you could kill somebody” with iced tea.

While waiting for jury selection to begin on Monday, Fox News host Jamie Colby and former federal prosecutor Doug Burns discussed the case on the network’s live Internet video stream.

“I know that George Zimmerman’s attorney will prove that he has no criminal background, he’s not an aggressive guy,” the Fox News host explained. “That he’s a gentle kind caring soul who was minding the neighborhood, the police didn’t get there quick enough and he had reason to pursue, even though he was told no to. He was just doing his Good Samaritan job.”

    • There wasn’t a dent in the can. They so wanted police to find a weapon on Trayvon. Now they’re wishing…”if only he had a weapon”. Catch fire, Fox News!

    • Ametia says:

      WTF

    • Ametia says:

Why not add SKITTLES to the lethal weapons list.Of course Trayvon wrestled that gorilla down to the ground and tried to shove those SKITTLES down his throat. Clearly, Trayvon was armed & dangerous with SKITTLES.

  26. The Trayvon Martin Killing Goes to Trial

    http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2013/02/trayvon-martin-one-year-anniversary

Ever since George Zimmerman was charged in April 2012 with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, a story that sparked a firestorm of debate over racial tensions, law enforcement, and gun regulations has mostly faded from the headlines. Now it returns, with Zimmerman’s trial opening on Monday in Sanford, Florida. The case hinges on some complex and controversial questions; below are several key aspects worth considering. Also see our collection of primary documents and videos from the case for additional background.

    ——————————————————————————–

Does Zimmerman’s story add up? A written statement and police video released last June, in which Zimmerman reenacts the deadly altercation for investigators at the scene, raised questions about Zimmerman’s story in more ways than one. He seemed to suffer from some peculiar memory loss that night regarding a street in his neighborhood of many years, and his description of the confrontation did not jibe with a prior written statement that he’d given police.

    More details ..

  27. Mark O’Mara says it’s important to have jurors from Seminole country. Wanna know why? He wants racists jurors and he knows they’re there. God help us!

  28. Trayvon Martin’s father calls for peace at the start of the Zimmerman murder trial

“We are relieved that the trial is starting today with the selection of jury members. We are seeking justice for our son and a fair trial. Trayvon’s life was taken unnecessarily and tragically, but we call upon the community to be peaceful. We have placed our faith in the justice system and ask that the community do the same. Please pray for Trayvon and for our family.”

  29. Tony Pipitone: The judge can decide the Frye issue whenever she wants after the hearing ends, though lawyers say it should be resolved before opening statements so the attorneys know what they can and cannot expect to be introduced as evidence.

  30. racerrodig says:

  31. I see bias Rene Stutzman! Ugh!

  32. Judge Debra Nelson denies Zimmerman motion to delay trial.

    • rikyrah says:

Remember in the beginning….they were all about the speedy trial…until they realized that they’d have to put on a n actual defense..

naw , mofo…you’re going to trial.

      • O’Mara has tried everything to get this trial delayed but Judge Nelson ain’t having it. He’s had a whole year to prepare for trial but he couldn’t stop from being before the cameras smearing a dead child.

      • roderick2012 says:

        Co-sign.
Judge Nelson should have wrapped concluded the Frye hearing Friday without O’Mara’s last witness because he specifically scheduled it so that the guy in England would testify last.
        Too bad so sad.

  33. rikyrah says:

That child went to the store and never came home.

He was murdered for Walking While Black.

There is no reason on this Earth why he should be dead.

    Yet, he is.

There was no Trayvon ‘confronting’ Zimmerman.

Trayvon was minding his own damn business when this racist sociopath decided to stalk, hunt and murder him.

  34. Trayvon Martin Timeline: Key Dates In The Murder Case

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/09/trayvon-martin-timeline_n_3412879.html#slide=2549894

The trial of George Zimmerman, set to kick off with jury selection on Monday, is one of the biggest court proceedings to take place in Florida since Casey Anthony was acquitted of murdering her child.

Zimmerman shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin as the latter was walking back to the home of his father’s fiancee from a Sanford, Fla., convenience store with a bag of candy on the night of Feb. 26, 2012.

Defense attorneys argue that Zimmerman, then 28, was attacked by Martin while serving as a neighborhood watch volunteer. Zimmerman’s camp contends the Hispanic American acted in self-defense when he shot the African-American teen in the chest at point-blank range. Prosecutors have deemed the slaying an instance of second-degree murder.

The case, which has been over a year in the making, has prompted allegations of racism and police corruption. While public opinion is mixed, there is no mistaking the fact that Martin’s killing and the circumstances thereof have captured headlines around the world.

  35. Xena says:

Here’s to a continuing lifting up of Trayvon’s parents.

  36. Good morning, everyone! Here we are at trial. Let justice be done!

    Hoodies up!

    • Ametia says:

What’s been happening with jury selection? Just signing on.

The photo gallery of Trayvon is OUTSTANDING, SG2.

      • The court is in recess for about 20 minutes. Potential jurors are filling out questionnaires. Judge Nelson will then bring them in one at a time and they will be questioned and some will be stricken.
