But for the sequestered jury of six women, much may depend on how a mother is steadfastly convinced that she can recognize her son’s screaming pleas for help.
On Friday, both sides relied on the testimony of two anguished mothers to end the second week of proceedings and leave the jury with powerful sounds and images to consider over the weekend.

Longwood gym owner accused of attacking woman who conned him
SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. —
A Seminole County gym owner has been jailed after investigators said he tried to get even with a woman who owed him money.
According to court documents, Tina Mangiardi agreed to plead guilty in March after being accused of taking more than $2 million from investors as part of a Ponzi scheme.
Adam Pollock, who runs Kokopelli’s Gym and Fitness Center in Longwood, was one of her investors, but he’s now in jail, accused of attacking the former model after realizing he invested in a scheme.
Surveillance video obtained by Channel 9 shows Mangiardi, an admitted con artist, pulling into the parking lot of Kokopelli’s.
She told police she was going there to pay a debt she owed to Pollock, but Mangiardi said once she was inside the gym, Pollock put on a pair of black gloves and pulled out a knife, threatening to cut off her fingers and toes as collateral.

The Trayvon Martin case has been nothing short of heartbreak from the very beginning. Regardless of what anyone believes about Trayvon’s past, his innocence or George Zimmerman’s, the fact remains that a teenager is dead. I honestly didn’t think I would get emotionally broken up more than I was over the story that Rachel Jeantel’s friendship with Martin stemmed from the fact he was one of the only people who never picked on her. The story painted such a tragic picture of friendship and two people whose lives will never be the same.
Then came this week’s testimonies and reactions from Trayvon Martin’s parents to leave me – and so much of America – floored. On Friday morning, Sybrina Fulton took the stand to talk about her son. As part of her testimony she had to identify her child’s screams in his finals seconds of life. Later in the day, Tracy Martin had to sit in court as the medical examiner, Dr Bao, explained how Trayvon died in severe pain and was alive for minutes after getting shot in the chest.

The investigative report was released today on the Travon Martin shooting and the involved details on George Zimmerman’s injuries which were heavily documented in the media reports.
CNN actually showed the blood drops on Zimmerman’s back of the head, and an apparent fuzzy picture of Zimmerman’s broken nose that required no medical treatment. At the scene of the murder, Zimmerman was asked several times if he wanted to go to the hospital and he refused.
References were made to some small minute amounts of THC in Trayvon Martin’s autopsy reports, that suggested he had used marijuana at some point. Attorneys for the Martin family concurred that this evidence is irrelevant and that the police declined to test Zimmerman for alcohol or drug although that would have been procedure in most murder cases.
However no references were made to any drug tests performed on George Zimmerman the night of the murder. No blood samples, no urine samples were taken on the perpetrator, just the victim which indicates sloppy police work and an incomplete investigation by Sanford police. Police did not arrest George Zimmerman that night of the death he caused, not for any tests or for any charges to be laid at all.
The documents revealed some interesting facts in the investigation that followed:

1) Temazepam – is a hypnotic, psycho active drug, used for short term insomnia, anti-anxiety, anticonvulant and muscle relaxant properties. Hypnotics are addictive, can cause daytime fatigue, motor vehicle crashes, cognitive impairments and falls.
This drug temazepam also distorts normal sleep patterns, the limit of prescription is 2 – 4 weeks. It causes impairment of body steadiness.

Contraindications: should be avoided by people who:

High Risk Groups: are those who are emotionally unstable, severe personality disorders, Borderline Personality disorder BPD.
2) Librax a choldiazepoxide and clidinium bromide used for ulcers, IBS and gastritis prescribed for anxiety patients and is also addictive.Suddenly withdrawing from the drug causes anxiousness, sleeplessness and irritability.
3) Adderall another drug given to patients with ADHD- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a psychostimulant. It is a given that ADHD patients, who are known to exhibit risky behavior. Adderall is not recommended in patients who exhibit signs of mental illness, and is sometimes used as an amphetamine stimulant, for its euphoric or “feelings of getting high” effects. In this case, George Zimmerman must have been diagnosed with ADHD to be prescribed this drug and must exhibit the characteristics of that illness.
Unfortunately as usual the mainstream media twisted the evidence examples in the 182 page report and picked the most supportive to Zimmerman’s case.
The evidence does not support the theory that Zimmerman feared for his life. Most likely the influence of Zimmerman’s prescription drugs appear to have a great impact on what happened the night of the murder of Trayvon Martin.
Zimmerman could have done a number of things if he was suspicious of Trayvon Martin but the most important part was that he disobeyed the police, and did not stand down he pursued Trayvon and was actually running after him.
So the state has Zimmerman’s medical records which includes he has a history of prescription drug use; drugs that have a list of side effects we see rattled off on those tv commercials.

Our God opens the spiritual ears of even the deaf although they cannot hear with their natural ears, for salvation is not limited to only those with completely functioning body parts. He shall open the ears of the jurors. It’s not what O’Mara says, or West says, or any witness. It’s what God says.

It’s not punishment. Caterpillars go into cocoons and it is a dark and lonely place. They have a default faith because they are vulnerable. But, while in that place, they are being transformed. They form wings to fly free, no longer crawling. As they break free, their wings get stronger. Tracy and Sybrina are breaking free.
That is why we feel helpless in comforting them at times, and can even think that they are being punished, because if we are instrumental in breaking the cocoon, their wings do not gain strength and they come out crippled, unable to crawl; unable to fly. They need to fly to plant eggs to bring forth more life. The life they bring is change and courage and pride to others so that creepy ass crackers won’t be so bold as to think they can commit murder and not face justice.

However, the tape remains under their jurisdiction because there is an ongoing investigation into GZ violating Trayvon’s Civil Rights. That is why there are no witnesses for the State regarding GZ’s harassment in the state’s case. Those witnesses are for the feds.

1. GZ was a member of the gym since 2010. He took several months off at the end of 2011, and was back training in January 2012.
2. GZ worked hard in training, although he did not advance quickly because he was obese (still is. Haha).
3. GZ learned how to protect himself from blows to his face. (GZ had no defensive wounds on his hands.)
4. GZ learned how to reverse when “mounted.” (If he was indeed mounted, GZ could have gotten free.)
5. GZ learned how to apply wrist holds and take-downs. (In his statements, GZ clearly says that he pinned Trayvon’s arm to prevent him from getting the gun.)
7. GZ learned how to use his feet and legs to balance when punching the bag. (Highly unlikely that Trayvon knocked him down with one punch.)
8. Wrapping the hands and wearing boxing gloves protects the hands and wrists from injury. (Trayvon had no such injuries after purportedly punching a 208 lb man on his head and in his face.)

The State is putting as little effort in attempting to convict George as possible.
Any expert could testify that anyone with a minimum amount of experience would have been able to reverse whatever ‘mount’ Trayvon had on George.

NBC’s Dan Abrams, whom I generally respect, has announced that he believes the jury will find the the defendant not guilty of both murder 2 and manslaughter. Given the State’s difficult burden to disprove self-defense beyond a reasonable doubt, which he believes to be impossible since the defendant has a coherent theory of the case supported by many witnesses as well as the photographs showing the injuries to his head, he said that he does not see any way that the jury can convict him.
In reaching that opinion, I believe Abrams commits the same mistake that so many of his colleagues commit on a daily basis regarding all of the important stories and issues of the day. They assume that there are two sides to every story and each side has both strengths and weaknesses. In other words, they assume the opposing sides are roughly equally legitimate. This assumption is not based on a thorough evidence based review of the respective sides or an objective evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the opposing arguments.
In fact, the assumption of equivalency is a false assumption and an extremely poor substitute for investigative journalism and critical thinking.
Abrams also commits another mistake by failing to acknowledge that the jury will decide how much weight to assign to the evidence. For example, the jury could decide that the defendant is a liar and disregard everything he said that is not independently supported by other credible evidence.
For a long time I have been describing this case a simple case. The jury can reasonably infer based on the evidence introduced at trial that the defendant attempted to locate and physically prevent Trayvon Martin from being yet another fucking punk and asshole who always escapes out the rear entrance of the neighborhood before the police arrive. They could also reasonably conclude that Trayvon uttered the terrified death shriek since he was unarmed and the shriek ended with the gunshot. Finally, they also could conclude that the absence of any of the defendant’s blood or DNA on Trayvon Martin’s hoodie means Trayvon did not attack the defendant.
Anyone who has taken the time to study this case should realize that there is sufficient evidence in the record to support a verdict of guilty to murder 2.
Indeed, Judge Nelson so ruled on Friday.
Therefore, Abrams opinion that there is not sufficient evidence to support a guilty verdict is flat out wrong.
