In honor of Sybrina Fulton, a woman of class who chooses to help others in spite of her own struggles — this is a video that I uploaded in May.

      I am crying…..I cannot stop.

      • Yahtc says:

Oh, Sybrina, lady of dignity, beauty and strength,

I care and pray for you. May my prayers and loving, supportive thoughts for you help you in those quiet moments when you are not in the public spotlight making all of your positive contributions to help others. May my prayers and reaching out to you with embracing thoughts be a balm for you when those bursts of grief wash over you. May your heart be comforted in His steadfast love.

Ben Jealous spoke about racial profiling by law enforcement agencies and officials, as well as George Zimmerman’s acquittal for his fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, “stand your ground” self-defense laws, and the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.

  3. Hollywood Actors Suit Up For ‘Black Tie Week’ in Honor of Trayvon Martin

*Television host and former reality TV star Teck Holmes and “Burn Notice” star Eric Bivens-Bush have partnered up to launch a new movement called “Black Tie Week.”

Black Tie Week was created in an effort to change the perception of Black men in America and get people to continue speaking out on the inequality in the criminal justice system after the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial.

Holmes and Bush aim to make a visible statement from Sept. 3 – 8, 2013, by having Black men, young and old, wear suits.

“The Trayvon Martin case has inspired the men to come together to encourage a solution for improving the public perception of Black Americans. How a person dresses is how they are perceived. Black Tie Week brings our entire community together to change the perception of young black men,” said Holmes, who hosts Cartoon Network’s game show “Hole in the Wall.”

A group of Black Hollywood talent has come together for the campaign including Wesley Jonathan, Edwin Hodge Shawn Carter Peterson, Aldis Hodge, Nicholas “The World Famous N.I.C.” Demps, Dennis L.A. White, Malik Barnhardt, Toryan Rogers and director/writer Terry Gingles, according to a report in Jawn Murray’s AlwaysAlist.

The Black Tie Week photo campaign was shot by photographer Lanisha Cole and there were also contributions by makeup artist Hanna Morrow and publicist Sherise Ford.

The week-long Black Tie Week tribute campaign aims to raise the national consciousness of the devastating racial profiling problem in the United States, and to recognize the ongoing commitment to addressing the urgent needs of our African-American youth.

    • Ametia says:

Ummm, I am soooooooooo NOT down with the suit thingy. This sends the wrong message that had every young black boy worn a suit & not a HOODIE, he’d be perceived as a good, upright NEGRO and might still be alive (TRAYVON)

Just raise the money and take away the “black-tie” and it’s implications!

      • Yahtc says:

I agree, it disregards the racism…..Trayvon was profiled as suspicious because he was BLACK. This is all about the horrors of RACISM! People wearing suits and ties have been lynched. Again, this is about the horrors of Racism!

      • Yahtc says:

      • Ametia says:

        NEED I SAY MORE?

        black tie-Obama-Black-Tie

      • Ametia says:

@Yahtc, exactly. Clothes ain’t got SHIT to do with racism. Th only thing clothing has in common with racism is they are both used to cover up.————————- FILL IN THE BLANK

      • I concur. I wish they’d have come up with a better idea of raising money. Racism does not stop b/c one has on a suit. Look at what President Obama has to face everyday from racists who thinks he has no right to be sitting in the Oval office.

      • Ametia says:

UGGH! The more I read this article, the madder it get.

“Change the perception of black men in America”

The only way this MIRACULOUS feat will everhappen is if Black men were actually born white.

      • Yahtc says:

Ya gotta watch the video I posted here, Ametia.

      • Yahtc says:

        Video = Use that POWER!

      • yeah I see your point Ametia. I don’t really like the suit thing for Trayvon either bc it does seem as if they’re putting down the way he was dressed that night.
should he have worn a suit to 7/11??
there’s a place and time for suits, especially for kids!!
Believe me if suits would’ve been in style he would’ve been wearing one, but he’s just like every other kid in America. when it’s chilly and drizzling a pair of long pants and sweater is appropriate!

but I don’t think the suit thing is a bad idea, I just don’t like the feeling I get from it in this circumstance. especially after all the nasty things ppl have said about how he was dressed.

    • Xena says:

Sincere efforts to educate and inform those who stereotype, but they should keep in mind — Barack Obama wears suits. White Supremacists don’t care about the appearance, education, articulation, financial status, nor accomplishments of Blacks.

      • Ametia says:

Xena, no doubt it’s a sincere effort, but misguided and feeds into the if only those niggas would just do xyz, they’d be abc…. ADNAUSEUM. Excuses to continue the racist behavior

      • Yahtc says:

What you wrote needs to be repeated Xena:

White Supremacists don’t care about the appearance, education, articulation, financial status, nor accomplishments of Blacks.

        • Xena says:

@Yahtc. Many moons ago, I stood and witnessed the White wife of a pastor try relating to a Black parishioner who was sharing about discrimination at the work place. The pastor’s wife was sincere, but she was far from reality. She grew up poor where the kids on the other side of the tracks were not allowed to play with them. She had three changes of clothes, had a hard time learning in school, etc. Her first marriage was abusive.

          Then she went through how she exercised faith and things bettered for her. I remember what the Black parishioner said;
“Alice, you changed your education. You changed your income. You changed where you lived. I did all those things too, but I cannot change the color of my skin.”

      • Ametia says:

@Yahtc: DING, DING, DING! You win the prize. All white supremacists care about is they HATE BLACK SKIN.

        The DAMN PIGS!

      • Yahtc says:

White supremacists should all be thrown in pig stys.

  4. Was Juror B 37 Planted in The George Zimmerman Trial

    • Ametia says:

YES! The whole fucking trial played like some NIGHTMARE straight out of the TWILIGHT lZone.

    • racerrodig says:

What Vandalism in the neighborhood ??

    • Xena says:

Of course Juror B37 was planted on the jury. That became VERY obvious by the verdict then going back to her voir dire and what her literary agent said — even if she had not given the AC360 interview. The AC360 interview sealed the fact that she was planted.

    • explicit bias? 50%??? who are these fuckers and where do they hang out?? maybe i’m confused. i’m gonna goggle those terms! most of the racism I’ve seen has come from this case. it’s like all the racists came out from under their rocks. and having POSs like taaffee on tv is a really big problem bc it makes them feel like they’re not alone. if I was in charge I would fine hln for allowing that kinda shit on the air for infecting innocent normal people with racism.
This is a learned behavior/attitude, couldn’t this be remedied by just hanging out with black ppl?? hello? like in school or idk, at home eating dinner with friends? this is just not dealt with enough. we need this to be a regular conversation and addressed from a young age if there’s so many racists left. ppl can’t be allowed to grow up to be racists when we have so much media and education available. it’s so frustratingly unfair!

  5. 2dogsonly says:

They just issued an apology.here is their statement.
Meant to press key for tubby. Please be as honorable as we have been and forward incorrect donations to the Mark OHorror Law Firm or better to the George Is White So He Cannot Be A Thug website.
