On Thursday morning, President Obama delivered remarks on the Affordable Care Act to an enthusiastic crowd at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Maryland, a crowd that reacted strongly to the President’s open mockery of Republican rhetoric against the law.
Referencing the Republican Party’s urgent efforts to kill the law before it takes effect, the President asked “What is it that they are they so scared about?”
The crowd responded, in near-unison, “Yoooou!”
THIS IS OBAMACARE
Tax credits will make premiums even more affordable for individuals and families. For example, in Texas, an average 27-year-old with income of $25,000 could pay $145 per month for the second lowest cost silver plan, $133 for the lowest cost silver plan, and $83 for the lowest cost bronze plan after tax credits. For a family of four in Texas with income of $50,000, they could pay $282 per month for the second lowest cost silver plan, $239 for the lowest silver plan, and $57 per month for the lowest bronze plan after tax credits.
We highly encourage commenters to share their experiences with healthcare, insurance companies, etc.
I think the ACA will EMPOWER us to make our own choices in selecting insurance companies, doctors, and hospitals for our care. As for companies, they will save money, because of the exchanges. It’s a win-win.
And folks who are screaming the loudest, they either don’t know what the hell is in the ACA, because they’re rather listen to Ted Cruz and Rush Limpballs(THEIR LOSS) , or they are the Rethugs who don’t want it to succeed because they HATE President Obama.
What is sad is that he lost his own mom from sickness and she had little or inadequate insurance-if I am not mistaken. Also thank God that young Sasha was covered.
My daughter was diagnosed with meningitis when she was 3 years old. She was running a very high temp and we took her to the Children’s Hospital and they ran a spinal tap and found out she had meningitis… and then I became hysterical. My baby was burning up with fever and she cried & cried. She made it through it all tho. Thank God for doctors at Children’s Hospital.
Good to hear, SG. How old is she now and I am hoping that there were no lingering effects? Bless you, your husband and your daughter.
She is 28 now. No effects. Glory to God!
Yes. Glory! He can work where nothing else can if you have nothing else and he can also work through doctors. I am glad that you are a praying parent. Boy does it make a difference. However ObamaCare has to also be God-inspired to help so many.
My mother was a praying woman too. When I called her to tell what was going on, she encouraged me to believe God will heal my baby. He did!
My mom prays also. What a heritage to have. Is your mom still with you?
No, she passed away in 2001. On the day she died her last words to me as I left for work was…”I love you and pray as you go”. *tears*
Sooooo sorry, many hugs and love.
Thank you! I need those hugs. :)
I can’t tell you how many days I long for that sweet little woman.
What a frightening experience for you to go through, SG2!
My heart is shaken just reading that……I cannot begin to imagine how hard emotionally that was for you. *hugs*
**hugs back**
I was so overcome with emotion & scared out of mind of what could happen. My baby went to ICU immediately and she kept pulling out the IV so they had to shave one side of her head and put the IV there.
We had just returned home from visiting my husband’s family in Louisiana and so many people were holding the baby and kissing on her. NOT GOOD!
Whew! Too much!
God was watching over you and heard your heart!
I am so glad your daughter has no lingering effects.
God loves her!
@SG2. You were blessed to have your daughter cared for and she’s alive to bear her own children.
AMEN!
Thanks for posting.
I was there. It was a very good speech.
Lucky you!
