We end Black Comedians week with one trailblazer and two inheritors of his style: Paul Mooney, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock.
When I think of Paul Mooney, I think of fearless. He has never tried to sugarcoat his comedy, and though bruising and wincing, the truth just bursts through.
Paul Mooney is the Town Crier for America and has never shied away from that role. If you’re uncomfortable by what he says – GOOD! You’re supposed to be.
Eddie Murphy burst onto the scene and just bowled us over. His impressions on SNL were classic.
Chris Rock is another one that just went KAPOW on the scene.

Curious Lion Cub Gets Trapped on the Side of a Cliff… His Mom Puts Herself in Danger to Make Sure He Doesn’t Fall Any Further
A photographer was lucky enough to capture this scene, and what transpired was absolutely incredibly.
Clinging on for dear life, this little lion cub cried for help. His mother arrives at the side of the cliff, along with some other members of the pride, and realize the peril the little one is in. One misstep and he could be tumbling down the rest of the cliff. The females each try to scale the cliff, but the sheer steepness of it keeps them back.
Finally the power of motherly love kicks in and it was all caught on camera.

In a article that appears in the June 2014 issue of GQ, the magazine salutes Dave Chappelle’s sold out shows with a look back at what some folks (at least the one’s who were lucky enough to be there) consider to be one of the funniest nights on earth. They literally called it that! One night, Dave made a surprise appearance at the Comedy Cellar in N.Y.C. and he invited several of his famous friends onstage. Vigilante or vindicator? One man’s bid to root out voter fraud

To Jay DeLancy, North Carolina is fraught with voter fraud and the state is doing nothing about it.
So the former Air Force veteran has taken matters into his own hands and vows, as he sees it, to save the system from eroding honest elections.
DeLancy launched the Voter Integrity Project more than three years ago, leading a band of volunteers in scouring public records and knocking on doors to root out irregularities in voter rolls.
It’s tedious work, and DeLancy has generated mixed results as well as a measure of controversy.
Some call his efforts “sloppy” and question whether he’s addressing a serious shortcoming or whether he’s become — intended or not — illustrative of the tough Republican-driven voter identification law that critics contend intimidates and disenfranchises minority voters.
Moreover, this is all playing out amid hardening partisan divisions nationwide and legal and legislative battles as the nation hurtles toward a midterm vote with the Senate at stake and a presidential ballot in 2016.

Hillary Calls Black Views on Color-Arousal “Preposterous”
Hillary Clinton is at it again, insulting Black people and trying to walk over us on her hoped-for path to the presidency, according to quotes from her new book, as published in the New York Times. Apparently she discusses the 2008 campaign and reopens old wounds in her soon-to-be-released memoir.
Back in 2008, when Hillary-surrogate Geraldine Ferraro said that Senator Obama was only ahead in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination because he was Black, and when Bill Clinton said that Obama’s win in the South Carolina primary was insignificant because Rev. Jesse Jackson had also won the state, while Bill Clinton also called Obama’s candidacy “the biggest fairytale” he had ever heard of, the Washington Post quoted me and Color of Change expressing anger at the Clintons’ color-aroused appeals.

Well, six years later the time to forgive Hillary still is not foreseeable, because she is still insulting Black people about the same events while doubling down on her ignorance of our feelings that caused her to lose the nomination back in 2008. In her new memoir that discusses the 2008 race, she says,
“The preposterous charge of racism against Bill was particularly painful.”
I didn’t know until now that, in addition to Bill’s color-aroused remarks of 2008, Hillary considered the criticisms of those remarks to be “preposterous”. I naively imagined that Bill was speaking only for himself when he belittled Obama in association with Obama’s skin color. Now, I understand that Bill was speaking for Hillary and she considers criticism of her color-aroused campaign to have been not merely wrong but also “preposterous”. I would have thought that, in retrospect, it was Bill’s calling Obama’s presidential aspirations a “fairy tale” that turned out to be “preposterous”.
Apparently, Hillary Clinton has learned nothing about securing the Black vote for herself, because none of us who criticized the color-aroused nature of her campaign in 2008 feels that we were wrong to do so, and we certainly do not believe that our criticisms were “preposterous”. The New York Times obviously quoted this particular statement from Hillary’s memoirs because they know it will be inflammatory and because the media criticized Clinton as much as Black people did for the comments that Hillary’s surrogates, including Bill, made.
Apparently Hillary has learned nothing, believing that the Blacks who criticized her campaign had reasons no more legitimate than the criticism that came from, for example, Fox News. To Hillary, Blacks might as well have been part of the right-wing conspiracy for all the credit she gives to our perceptions. She rejects and discounts our opinions in the same way she rejected theirs.
