Cantor Campaign Spent More On Steak Houses Than Opponent Spent On Entire Race

    Daniel Strauss – June 11, 2014, 10:35 AM EDT

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s (R-VA) re-election campaign spent more money at steak houses than David Brat, who ended up defeating Cantor in the Republican primary, spent on his whole campaign.

NBC noted that according to FEC campaign finance reports, Cantor spent $168,637 in payments at BLT Steak and Bobby Van’s Steak House in 17 payments up to May 21.

By contrast Brat’s campaign spent $122,793 in the race.

Cantor also raised far more than Brat in the race. Cantor campaign raised $5,447,290 and spent almost as much — $5,026,626. Brat raised just $206,663

And the fact this Jack Trammell guy is teaching instead of campaigning shows the Democrats had no plans to win against Cantor. Otherwise he wouldn’t be scheduling classes instead of campaigning.

The MSM was completely caught off guard, showing how useless they are.

Let’s be absolutely clear about the bullshyt meme that the sycophants in the MSM want to push now because of Cantor’s loss.

All that was ‘lost’ because of Cantor’s loss, i.e. Immigration Reform and the VRA.

NOTHING was stopping Cantor from doing Immigration Reform before his loss, and even if you say that his opponent running on it was the reason he denied a vote in the House, ok. His ass has lost now. He has nothing to lose. Bring the bill up for a vote.

Now, as far as that VRA is concerned, I feel like climbing through the computer screen and bytchslapping you myself.

The reason why they won’t even hold hearings on the VRA IS BECAUSE THEY DON’T WANT TO FIX THE VRA.

They are VERY pleased by what the Supreme Court has done and anyone who wants to write anything other than that can kiss my entire Black ass.

So, what the fuck do I care if his replacement will also commit economic treason against this country?

David Brat: Embrace Christian Capitalism, Or Hitler Will Come Back

    By Jack Jenkins
    June 11, 2014 at 12:13 pm

When David Brat defeated House Majority leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) in the Republican primary of Virginia’s 7th Congressional District last night, House Republicans likely lost their only Jewish representative. In his place, they may have gained a radically pro-capitalist Christian theologian.

Christian Tea Party candidates are certainly not unusual, but a trail of writings show that Brat, an economics professor at Randolph-Macon college, has an especially radical theology to support his right-wing politics. Brat’s CV lists him as a graduate of Hope College, a Christian school in Michigan, and Princeton Theological Seminary, a Presbyterian Church U.S.A. seminary in New Jersey. He claims to be a “fairly orthodox Calvinist,” but several of his published writings expose a unsettling core theology that is centered around lifting up unregulated, free-market capitalism as a morally righteous system that churches should embrace—or else.

In a 2011 paper entitled “God and the Advanced Mammon — Can Theological Types Handle Usury and Capitalism?”, published in Interpretation: A Journal of Bible and Theology, Brat champions the moral superiority of the capitalistic system. “Capitalist markets and their expansion in China and India have provided more for the common good, more ‘social welfare,’ than any other policy in the past ten years,” he writes, adding “So, as a seminary student concerned with human welfare, I naturally wanted to learn about these free markets.”

Brat goes on to list a number of arguments for and against the practice of usury, but concludes the paper with a chilling warning about what will happen if churches fail to build a movement in support of free-market capitalism—namely, a Hitler-like figure could rise to power. He writes:

Would you be surprised to learn that Tea Party heartthrob Dave Brat’s campaign manager has a Facebook page with loony comments about abortion, racism, and links to extreme right wing websites?

Well, it did before yesterday, when he scrubbed it.

From comparing George Zimmerman’s shooting of unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin to abortion to calling for the abolition of the Food and Drug Administration and encouraging the adoption of the silver monetary standard, Zachary Werrell – one of just two paid staffers for the upstart campaign of Randolph-Macon College economics professor Brat – in 2012 and 2013 sought to build a public profile as a socially conservative libertarian voice. The Facebook postings were either taken down or made private overnight Tuesday in the wake of Brat’s win, but Yahoo News took screeshots of some of the remarks before they were removed from view. A cached version of Werrell’s page remained available on Google as of mid-Wednesday.

“Can someone who was outraged that George Zimmerman was found not guilty of ‘SOMETHING ANYTHING’ and who is simultaneously pro-choice explain the logical dissonance there? Ie. Why its not ok to kill someone who is banging your head into concrete but its ok to kill someone for simply existing who, through your conscious actions, you brought into the world?” Werrell had written in an Oct. 24, 2013 posting.

The month before, the campaign manager for the likely next congressman for Virginia’s 7th District – no Democrat has represented that district since 1971 – questioned whether existing state lines were defensible. “Should sections of States be allowed to secede from a State if they feel they are un/underrepresented in the State Government?” Werrell asked. “I say yes. I derive that opinion from our first foundational document – the Declaration of Independence. What say you?”

On Oct. 25, 2013, he called for an end to the regulation of prescription drugs, citing a story from the Ludwig von Mises Institute. “Abolish the FDA!” he wrote.

On Oct. 29 of that year, it was a piece by Fred Reed from Lew Rockwell’s website on “The Wussification of Boys” that set him off. “There is a war on boys!” Werrell wrote. “Rough housing, playing soldier, etc, are all punished or medicated away. And we wonder why there is gender inequality in the classroom and in college/attendance/graduation rates.”

The Reed piece called for the end of women teachers in co-ed or boys’ schools. “It is time to get women out of the schooling of boys,” wrote Fred Reed. “It is way past time. Women in our feminized classrooms are consigning generations of our sons to years of misery and diminished future.” The piece further argued that “women should not be allowed within fifty feet of a school where boys are taught” and that “Women are totalitarian. Men are happy to let boys be boys and girls be girls. Women want all children to be girls.”

Cantor to resign as majority leader July 31

    2) Brat co-authored an analysis of Ayn Rand. According to his CV, Brat co-wrote and presented “An Analysis of the Moral Foundations in Ayn Rand” in 2010. “Brat says that while he isn’t a Randian, he has been influenced by ‘Atlas Shrugged’ and appreciates Rand’s case for human freedom and free markets,” Betsy Woodruff wrote in the National Review.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is not going to run as a write-in candidate this fall after his primary defeat Tuesday night, according to two Republicans close to him. The news means he will definitely give up his position as majority leader at some point before the end of the year.

    Tea Party Cannibalizes Cantor

The Republican majority leader fanned the flames of the Tea Party movement, hoping it would help him to take over from John Boehner. Last night he got burned.
Winston Churchill once said “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile—hoping it will eat him last.”

Last night, Eric Cantor was eaten by the Tea Party. Chomp. Chomp.

It is perhaps the most shocking loss in modern congressional elections—the powerful Republican leader losing his perch to an unknown member of his own party despite outspending his opponent by more than 25 to 1.
