Houston Citizen Bernadette Lancelin Rants Against Obama Border Policy
    .
    http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2014/07/10/houston_citizen_bernadette_lancelin_rants_against_obama_border_policy

RUSH: Did you see, ladies and gentlemen, have you seen the YouTube video of a furious mother in Texas? She just goes off over the influx of illegal immigrants during an unfiltered TV interview. Her name is Bernadette Lancelin. And it might be pronounced Lancelin. It’s Lance with an l-i-n at the end of it. The way I was raised to phonetically pronounce things when you don’t know is Lancelin.

Bernadette Lancelin is African-American. She’s from Houston. She says she is furious that the White House wants to spend billions of dollars to feed and house thousands of unaccompanied immigrant children who’ve entered the country illegally. She says to the TV camera, “What about the kids here? What about the kids here in our neighborhood? And not just in our neighborhood, but in our country? All these kids, really? Why can’t they go back?”

  2. Did y’all see this? She needs to go sit her sweaty ass down & stfu. They’ll be coming for her black ass tomorrow and saying go back to Africa.

    • Ametia says:

OMG This greasy, sweaty, ignorant fool! Check her bank account, if she has one or her back pocket and I’ll bet you it’s stuffed with cash or a CHECK for that performance.

What did CPL used to say? These negroes will sell their mama for a 3 piece & a bisquit!

      • I could smack the living ish out of her for performing for these clowns. The ignorant fool doesn’t have enough sense to realize she’s being used against the black Potus. Black ass heffa!

Mitch McConnell Gets Busted Mitt Romney Style on Tape Hating Women and Students
By: Sarah Jones more from Sarah Jones
    Friday, July, 11th, 2014, 4:33 pm

Another tape, another busted, out-of-touch, entitled Republican.

Mitch McConnell (R-KY) thinks that whilst running against a female candidate — Alison Lundergan Grimes (D-KY) — on a party platform infamous for its War Against Women, he ought to inform female voters that he has no intention of granting them this preferential treatment they seek with equal pay, etc. Oh, and he also thinks students need to get over themselves.

McConnell smugly informed voters in Buckner, Kentucky that 50% of women voted for him last time and he gave them no preferential treatment so hey. It’s in the bag. Per Leo Weekly, “The last time I ran I got 50 percent of the women votes in the state. So I don’t grant the assumption that we need to sort of give preferential treatment to the majority of our population, which is in my view, leading and performing all across the… you know, maybe I’m missing something here.”

Boehner’s lawsuit against Obama is so dumb, even conservatives hate it
    Spandan Chakrabarti July 11, 2014

News came yesterday that John Boehner, in keeping with his disastrous record of being a failed Speaker of the House, plans to sue the President over the Affordable Care Act – specifically over the president’s decision to delay the enforcement of the employer mandate to give mid-and-large businesses to comply. Small businesses are already exempt.

This is all kinds of stupid. First, it’s dumb policy. There is no precedence for one chamber of Congress suing to stop a president’s interpretation and implementation of the laws – courts, as the third co-equal branch of government, are hard pressed to get involved in a fist-fight between the other two. There is also no precedence for this because the Constitution provides Congress with its own remedies for what it believes is abuse of power: the power of the purse, and the power to impeach.

Republicans tried to abuse their power of the purse – over the same issue nonetheless – by shutting down the government last year. That was a political disaster they are not willing to repeat. That leaves impeachment, another non-starter that would represent even worse partisan abuse by the Republicans.

Muslim leaders explain Barack Obama love

By KENDALL BREITMAN | 7/11/14 4:20 PM EDT Updated: 7/11/14 4:40 PM EDT

Muslim-American leaders said Friday that a new poll showing the community’s sky-high approval rating of President Barack Obama stems partly from its disdain for the Republican party.

“I think [Muslim-Americans] see the president sympathetically, but they also see his opponents to be, for lack of a better term, just damn awful,” said James Zogby, the president of the Arab American Institute. “The way Republicans have handled the Muslim community…what they feel is outright bigotry. It makes them see the president in a sympathetic light.”

According to a Gallup poll, 72 percent of Muslim-Americans said they approve of the president – the highest rating among any religious group in the U.S.

“Muslims, in our data for one thing, skew very young,” Gallup Editor-in-Chief Frank Newport said in an interview when asked to explain the findings. “The Muslims in our sample are the youngest among any of those religious groups and young people are more likely to be Democratic…and in our sample they likely live in the East and that’s the most Democratic region in the country.”

    fabulous comment #2 from TOD:

    Lovepolitics2008:

“They want to redeem Bush”… THIS.

There’s no question that republicans are never able to deal with not being in power. The minute a democrat ascends to the Oval Office, they begin the campaign to destroy him. Democrats, who are more mature politically, and are not authoritarians, don’t do the same.

But in the case of Barack Obama, we’ve seen the resentment and the hate reach new levels. Race is a factor of course. But another one is that republicans have been SO HUMILIATED by the Bush presidency, they want Bush’s successor to be humiliated to. To leave office with approval numbers as low as Bush’s numbers were. Just so they can comfort themselves in the fact that it’s not just republican presidents who can be rejected by the population.

I’ll go further. I wonder if unconsciously, the pundit class wants the same thing. Let me explain…

They’re so obsessed by the political game, they seem to be totally uninterested by policies and their effects on the american people. They have big salaries and don’t need any help; they absolutely don’t CARE about what happens to people. So the fact that Barack Obama is working to help people DOESN’T IMPRESS them at all. The fact that Barack Obama is working to repair the damage of the Bush years DOESN’T IMPRESS them at all. Since they don’t care, the integrity, empathy, hard work of this president doesn’t generate in them positive sentiments. They judge him, SOLELY, on the way he plays the political game and on the way he interacts with them, the “media stars”. They would like him if he was friendly towards them, if he flattered their egos, if he made them feel important.

So the media class doesn’t like the president. And since they want interesting “narratives”, since they’re entertained by watching a politician’s numbers go up and down, I can’t help feel that deep down inside, they wish they’ll be able to tell the story of a rock-star politician who ascended to the Presidency after an historical, exciting campaign… but left office with as low approval numbers as his republican predecessor.

(And of course, let’s not forget JEALOUSY. They don’t want to feel inferior to this very brilliant president who is , on top of everything, a better WRITER than all of them.)

    • Ametia says:

      They are all INFERIOR.

PBO sneaked in on these MOFOs, while they weren’t looking, they weren’t ever entertaining the notion that any POC would ever sit their black asses in that Oval Office leather and preside over our country, and that’s were they made their mistake.

    Cindy:

    Happy Friday Carolyn,
    I am so convinced that the main reason, the repukes and MSM want a picture of President Obama at the border, is to place it next to Bush “real” Katrina moment (Bush in plane looking down on those who were suffering), and run with some eye catching headline;

Bush/Obama Katrina moment and they both did nothing.

Of course they would photoshop the picture by inserting crying babies and mothers at the border with the President standing there.

They want to redeem Bush by comparing the President to him; hoping that a picture of President Obama at the border would destroy him.
“AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN” and they are losing their minds because they can’t manipulate him to do it.

16-Year-Old’s Rape Goes Viral On Social Media: ‘No Human Being Deserved This’

    By Tara Culp-Ressler
    July 10, 2014 at 9:07 am

In an incident that shares several elements with the infamous Steubenville rape case that made national headlines last year, a 16-year-old girl from Texas says that photos of her unconscious body went viral online after she was drugged and raped at a party with her fellow high schoolers. But the victim isn’t backing down. She’s speaking out about what happened to her, telling her story to local press and asking to be identified as Jada.

After other teens started mocking her online — sharing images of themselves splayed out on the floor in the same pose as Jada’s unconscious body under the hashtag #jadapose — the victim decided to speak out. She sat down with local outlet KHOU 11 to tell her side. “I’m just angry,” Jada said.

According to Jada, she was invited to a party at a fellow high schooler’s house. The boy who was hosting the party gave her a drink
that she believes was spiked with a drug that made her lose consciousness. She passed out and doesn’t remember what happened next. But then she started seeing evidence of her sexual assault circulated online, and some of her peers started texting her to ask her if she was okay.

Florida (aka Flori-duh) Republicans just got a major smackdown from a circuit judge who ruled that their congressional redistricting map was illegal. North Carolina, are you paying attention?

The map is now invalid because it “violates constitutional provisions that require fair districts,” per the Los Angeles Times. Or to put it another way, the GOP hoped to pull a fast one on Democratic voters and failed miserably. The plan is “invalid.”

In Florida, the GOP controls the Legislature, and the judge said that they did that with “improper partisan intent” in 2012.

A forgotten history of the largest slave auction ever on American soil
KRISTOPHER MONROE JUL 10 2014, 7:55 AM ET

Two miles west of downtown Savannah, Georgia, sits a historical marker in the center of a small plot of a fenced in city park. The triangular park measures not more than a fifth of an acre. The surrounding neighborhood is one of the most distressed and depressed sections of the city.

    The marker reads:

    largest slave auction in history

The marker was dedicated on March 3, 2008, 149 years after the slave auction occurred, and at the commemoration ceremony then-mayor Otis Johnson—only the second African-American to hold that office—offered up a short speech honoring the enslaved men and women whose labor helped build the oldest city in the state of Georgia. At the ceremony a local man handed out dirt from Nigeria to be sprinkled around the marker and Mayor Johnson poured water over the dirt to consecrate the ground.

Bundy-Style Militia Leader In Texas: ‘Get Back … Or You Will Be Shot’
    DYLAN SCOTT – JULY 10, 2014, 3:12 PM EDT

An activist who is rallying a Bundy Ranch-style militia to the Texas border to address the ongoing crisis there reportedly released a YouTube video in which he said those crossing illegally would be warned: “Get back across the border or you will be shot.”

Operation Secure Our Border, with its own Facebook page, is being organized by members of the “Patriot” movement along with Oathkeepers and Three-Percenters, according to the San Antonio Express News. Those are some of the same militia groups that came to Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s defense earlier this year.

The Express News and The Monitor in McAllen, Texas, both reported on a YouTube video featuring Chris Davis, who has been identified as the commander of the militia, in which he apparently explained how the border would be secured.

Will The Media Carry Water For Darrell Issa — Again?
    July 10, 2014 11:01 AM EDT ››› JEREMY HOLDEN

    Here we go again.

Within hours of House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) selectively leaking emails from one of his investigations, the right-wing media is dutifully claiming that he had offered evidence of a cover-up in the controversy over IRS scrutiny of nonprofit groups.

The question now is whether legitimate media outlets will again let Issa and Fox manipulate them with selective leaks.

Fox News host Bill O’Reilly claimed on July 9 that the emails that Issa released were “hard evidence” that embattled former IRS official Lois Lerner was engaged in a cover up.

In reality, the email shows nothing more than a manager issuing guidance that email communication could be subpoenaed by Congress, underscoring the “need to be cautious about what we say in emails,” and confirming that instant messages were not archived but should be treated with the same caution as email.

WASHINGTON —President Barack Obama has booked a two-week summer getaway for his family on the picturesque Massachusetts island of Martha’s Vineyard. The White House says Obama will head north on Aug. 9 and stay until Aug. 24, when he returns to Washington. It will be the longest summer vacation of his presidency.

Obama and his family have sought rest and relaxation on the well-to-do island all but one summer since he became president. The exception was 2012, the year of his re-election campaign. Obama spends most of his time on Martha’s Vineyard playing golf, taking his family to the beach and on bike rides, dining out with friends and treating first lady Michelle Obama to date nights.

Obama, Senate Democrats clash over how to handle border crisis

By Alexander Bolton – 07/11/14 06:00 AM EDT

A bipartisan 2008 bill intended to crack down on child trafficking has become a flashpoint in the debate over an emergency spending bill to address the immigration crisis in Texas.

President Obama has asked for $3.7 billion and increased authority to deal with 57,000 unaccompanied minors from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador who have streamed across the border illegally. Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson warned Thursday the number could reach 90,000 by the end of September.

Unlike illegal immigrants from Mexico, these minors are guaranteed a court date by the trafficking law. They are often released to relatives to wait out their pending appeal, a process that results in only 1,800 per year being deported to their countries of origin.

States with the strongest and weakest unions
Despite a decades-long decline in membership, some states remain union strongholds, while others have almost no organized labor presence.

By Vince Calio, Thomas C. Frohlich and Alexander E.M. Hess, 24/7 Wall St.

    State of the unions
The percentage of American workers in unions remained effectively unchanged last year. This marks a departure from the nation’s long-term trend: In the past 30 years, union membership has dropped from 20.1 percent of the workforce in 1983 to 11.2 percent last year.

Despite this long running decline, some states remain union strongholds, while others have almost no union presence. In several states, more than 22 percent of workers were union members last year. Conversely, in five states, less than 4 percent of all employees were union members.

A number of factors help determine whether unions have a significant or negligible presence in a state, including industry composition, labor laws and political atmosphere. Based on data collected by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and calculations by Unionstats.com, 24/7 Wall St. identified the states with the highest and lowest shares of workers who are union members.

In recent decades, the private sector has accounted for the majority of the decline in the union workforce, while the share of public sector workers in unions has remained relatively constant, Unionstats founder Barry Hirsch wrote in an email. “Public sector members now account for half of all members despite being only [one-sixth] of the workforce,” he added.

Often, high levels of union membership in a state were due to the presence of industries where unions traditionally held considerable influence, most notably construction and manufacturing. As of 2013, 14 percent of all construction sector workers, and 10 percent of all manufacturing workers, were union members.

In addition to sector composition, Hirsch also noted that history played a role in determining unionization rates. “States that historically had high unionization in manufacturing are now more likely to have high unionized hospitals and grocery stores, and vice-versa,” he explained. In turn, when young workers have not been exposed to unions through friends and family members, “these workers are far less likely to support union organizing.”
