The Justice for Michael Brown Leadership Coalition will be holding a massive demonstration in Ferguson, Mo at Ground Zero on Saturday, August 30th, 10:00 am Central Time and are calling for supporters nationwide to stand with them in solidarity in a national day of protest against police brutality throughout the country!
Justice for Michael Brown Leadership Coalition Demands
1.We demand that Darren Wilson, the officer involved in the shooting death of Michael Brown be immediately fired from Ferguson police department instead of remaining on paid leave. We demand Darren Wilson be charged and vigorously prosecuted for the murder of Michael Brown.
2.We demand that Missouri Governor, Jay Nixon, under the emergency law clause he issued immediately remove St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert P. McCulloch from the case involving Michael Brown.
3.We call upon the United States Federal Attorney General, Eric Holder and Missouri state Attorney General Chris Koster to investigate the policies and practices of the local municipalities in Saint Louis City, Saint Louis County and other municipalities throughout the state of Missouri that have demonstrated a legacy of racial profiling. Accordingly, we call upon those officials to develop penalties/policies to put an end to those practices.
4.We call for the Missouri State Auditor Tom Schweich to do an audit of the funds of the local municipalities that have demonstrated a history of racial profiling. We demand accountability of how much revenue is being generated from traffic violations and how these funds are being spent.
5.We call for the Ferguson Mayor, James Knowles and Police Chief Thomas Jackson to immediately resign from their positions of authority and if not we will call upon the people to immediately do a recall of the Mayor of Ferguson.
I am praying for the children.

Woman with kids was carjacked at gunpoint, and police officer ignored her
by admin / August 31, 2014
Reported by: Kacie Whaley
A Dallas woman said several police officers ignored her pleas for help Monday after her ex-boyfriend abducted her children at gunpoint.
Miesha Kilson was speeding down the street trying to escape her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Steven Douglas, on Monday morning. She had asked Douglas to leave her home a couple days earlier, but when he refused, tempers flared, and he began to chase after Kilson and her three children, two of whom he fathered, according to WFAA8 News. Douglas eventually crashed into Kilson’s vehicle, leaving she and her children facing oncoming traffic.
“When I hit the curb, my tire went flat, and I could just hear shots behind me, and my baby said, ‘Mama! He’s shooting!’” Kilson told KDFW News. “And I look back and he had [a gun] up in the air.”
Kilson said her children’s father walked up to her vehicle, grabbed one of the windows, and pulled it out. At that moment, Kilson said she saw something that made her think she was about to be saved. “And I look over, and as I looked up out that passenger window, I swear I saw an angel ‘cause I saw a police car right at my car,” she said.
The officer was law enforcement veteran of 28 years Corporeal Les Richardson. “That man looked up, he said ‘What’s going on?’ right at my window, directly,” said Kilson. She yelled ‘get him’ at the policeman, referring to Douglas. But instead of helping, she said Richardson left the scene.
“Douglas saw the policeman, so he moved the gun,” said Kilson. “The policeman drove off. He drove off. He didn’t come back.”
According to police, Douglas then proceeded to grab their 9-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son out of Kilson’s car and drive to another location, reported WFAA8 News.
Kilson had called the police and told them that an officer had fled the scene. She said she then asked a motorcycle cop for help. “A motorcycle cop said ‘I was right here. I saw everything and I heard all the bullets, but I was writing a ticket,’” said Kilson. A male witness also tried to flag down a police officer to help Kilson, but no one stopped.
Kilson said five police cars passed her, but police say that some of those cars were on their way to an auto repair shop where Douglas had crashed later in the day after a police chase, according to DFW News. A police statement said that when they found Douglas, he pointed his “small caliber pistol at Officer Moreno,” at which point the officer shot and killed Douglas.
The two children Douglas kidnapped were later found safe at their grandmother’s house.
Cpr. Richardson is now on administrative leave while an investigation is completed on why he abandoned Kilson.

Just curious.
Can We Talk About How Black Women Are Treated as Threats, Too?
We tend to focus on the consequences of stereotypes about men, but black women are victims of racialized violence as well. Understanding this is a matter of life and death.

Like The Root’s Diana Ozemebhoya Eromosele, who recently penned the essay “Michael Brown’s Death Reopened My Eyes to My Privileges as a Black Woman,” I understand that, as a woman, I behave differently in public spaces than the black men I know and love. Actually, as an activist who has been involved in various rallies against police violence and “cop watches” in my community, I even have a habit of “mouthing off” to police officers when I know they are behaving in ways that are inappropriate and sometimes illegal.
But as I witness the national response to Michael Brown’s slaying, and how the citizens of Ferguson, Mo., are being terrorized by a militarized police force, I am forced to take a long, hard look at my behaviors and how dangerous they are. The truth is that, although cases of state and racialized violence against black women may happen less frequently than with black men, black women are still constantly perceived as threats by law enforcement and others, and must begin behaving with that awareness.
It’s no wonder that I’m just now coming to terms with this. The message that men are the only ones in danger when it comes to racialized violence is a strong one.
My mother’s conversations with me regarding how to be safe in the world generally centered on my femaleness—how to carry myself to ward off sexual harassment and assault, and which men to trust and which men not to. They were starkly different conversations from those she had with my brother.
She never spoke to me about how the sheer presence of my black skin might cause me to be beaten mercilessly by a highway patrolman; that knocking on a stranger’s door for help might mean him shooting me in the face; that being involved with a man whom police suspect of criminal activity might mean my home being raided, my infant child being injured and me being killed; that my female children aren’t safe from police violence; that, even at the age of 92, I could still suffer death at the hands of the police. My mother, although unintentionally, made a serious parenting mistake.
As I raise my own daughter, I realize that I can’t make the errors my mother did. I have to teach her, as I would teach my son, that the police and random strangers may mean her more harm than good, that she has to be alert and mindful of the way her black body moves.

At least 6 Ferguson officers apart from Brown shooter have been named in lawsuits
Federal investigators are focused on one Ferguson, Mo., police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black teenager, but at least five other police officers and one former officer in the town’s 53-member department have been named in civil rights lawsuits alleging the use of excessive force.
In four federal lawsuits, including one that is on appeal, and more than a half-dozen investigations over the past decade, colleagues of Darren Wilson’s have separately contested a variety of allegations, including killing a mentally ill man with a Taser, pistol-whipping a child, choking and hog-tying a child and beating a man who was later charged with destroying city property because his blood spilled on officers’ clothes.Federal investigators are focused on one Ferguson, Mo., police officer who fatally shot an unarmed black teenager, but at least five other police officers and one former officer in the town’s 53-member department have been named in civil rights lawsuits alleging the use of excessive force.

That powerful image struck my heart with the horrific truth!
Keep bringing it, SG2.
Brilliant.
They should do the same thing at the former Dozier School for Boys in Marianna, Florida.

Riverfront Times Seeks Juvenile Records for Officer Darren Wilson
By Riverfront Times Staff Fri., Aug. 29 2014 at 8:00 PM
In response to a number of inquiries today, the Riverfront Times confirms that it is seeking the juvenile records of Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, the man who shot and killed Michael Brown.
After the Post-Dispatch announced Friday that it is seeking the juvenile records for Brown, many people on Twitter asked that the same scrutiny be placed upon Wilson, who is currently under investigation for the shooting death of the unarmed 18-year-old man.
This is just one avenue of many in our continuing commitment to cover a significant news story for our community.
We have taken this action as a professional news organization, independently and not in conjunction with any other organization, as we seek to report facts and not rely on innuendo or speculation.

Beyond Ferguson: Understanding the big picture
Smartypants
august 30, 2014
I just want to say that Carol Anderson nailed it in her column titled: Ferguson isn’t about black rage against cops. It’s white rage against progress.
When we look back on what happened in Ferguson, Mo., during the summer of 2014, it will be easy to think of it as yet one more episode of black rage ignited by yet another police killing of an unarmed African American male. But that has it precisely backward. What we’ve actually seen is the latest outbreak of white rage. Sure, it is cloaked in the niceties of law and order, but it is rage nonetheless.
Protests and looting naturally capture attention. But the real rage smolders in meetings where officials redraw precincts to dilute African American voting strength or seek to slash the government payrolls that have long served as sources of black employment. It goes virtually unnoticed, however, because white rage doesn’t have to take to the streets and face rubber bullets to be heard. Instead, white rage carries an aura of respectability and has access to the courts, police, legislatures and governors, who cast its efforts as noble, though they are actually driven by the most ignoble motivations.

Excellent article.
This article is SPOT ON. Overt Black anger is a reaction to first COVERT then OVERT (KILLER COPS) WHITE RAGE.
BAM
Amen!
Outstanding article which I agree with.
It’s just MIND-BLOWING that all 5 of these demands/call to action are all rights/laws that should have been afforded all the citizens of Ferguson, but where not due to 21st JIM CROW PRACTICES.
Yes!
