Darren Wilson, the Missouri police officer who shot and killed teenager Michael Brown in August, resigned from the Ferguson police department Saturday, telling the St. Louis Post-Dispatch it is “the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.”
Wilson, who avoided a grand jury indictment in the shooting death of Brown, was rumored to be stepping down for weeks and told the Dispatch, “I’m resigning of my own free will. I’m not willing to let someone else get hurt because of me.”
Wilson stated that it was “the hardest thing I have ever had to,” before adding that being a police officer was “the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do.”

This implies that Wilson’s shooting and killing Michael was easier! I am sickened.

CNN reporting Missouri’s lieutenant Gov is calling for Michael Brown’s step dad to be arrested & charged for inciting riot. If the lieutenant wants to go there, he’d better arrest Bob McCulloch. He incited a riot by not indicting the killer cop and making the announcement a 8pm dark. Fuck all of them!

Ferguson protestors have gained the lead in TIME’s Person of the Year poll, with seven days to go in the voting.
Unrest in Ferguson and around the country focused attention on race and policing, helping to lift Ferguson protestors into first place in the TIME reader poll with 10.7% of the vote. Thousands of demonstrators marched in solidarity with the family of Michael Brown, an unarmed black man who was shot by the police, disrupting Black Friday shopping in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Seattle and other cities.

Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson was involved in a violent altercation with the father of his lover’s child that saw assault charges brought in a case closed just six months before the Missouri cop shot dead Michael Brown.
Ferguson erupted as protesters reacted angrily to news of the Grand Jury’s decision not to indict the officer for the fatal shooting.
Wilson, 28, had been in hiding since August 9 when he pumped six bullets into the unarmed teen until the day after the verdict, when was interviewed by ABC News..
While the Grand Jury considered the evidence, Brown’s family waited for answers and protesters seethed with anger, Wilson married his lover, fellow Ferguson officer, Barbara Spradling, in a secret ceremony in St Louis County.
The couple are now expecting their first child together.
Now, court documents seen by MailOnline have revealed the turbulent history of the relationship that ended two marriages, sparked an ongoing custody battle and saw Wilson and Spradling, 37, embroiled in the assault case with her former lover, John Blumenthal, 52.
Papers filed at Jefferson County Court expose the true extent of Wilson’s disrupted home-life and show the volatile backdrop against which the officer undertook his life of public service.
They reveal pressures of which the Grand Jury was unaware as they considered the Wilson’s state of mind when he pulled the trigger on August 9 and discharged 12 rounds. Six bullets hit home, felling the 6ft 2 teenager.
According to court records, on 16 May 2013 John Blumenthal returned home around midnight to find Wilson – 24 years his junior – on the sofa with the mother of his child in the house that he and Barbara Spradling still shared.

St. Louis County prosecutor Robert McCulloch’s decision to “open up” the grand jury proceedings by including massive amounts of testimony and evidence has been decried as “highly unusual,” “deeply unfair,” and evidence that police officer Darren Wilson received “special treatment.” McCulloch’s move to include a good deal of exculpatory evidence and testimony led to a three-month, closed-door proceeding that included 70 hours of testimony, including 60 witnesses and three medical examiners. The breadth of the evidence presented to the grand jury has led many to declare that it turned the entire proceeding into something that walks and quacks an awful lot like a trial, but without many of the procedural rules that would make a trial truly fair.
This move to morph a grand jury inquiry, which is typically a short rundown of the case for the prosecution, into a trial-like parade of mountains of evidence raises serious issues about the rights of Michael Brown’s family to have a fair process for their dead son, as well as highlighting concerns about unequal treatment of different kinds of criminal defendants. But seemingly lost in this jumble of legal concerns is the fact that McCulloch’s decision to shift the truth-seeking function of a criminal trial into the secret realm of the grand jury room violated another set of constitutional rights—ours. It violated our collective public right to an open criminal justice system. And if ever there was a trial to which Americans deserved a meaningful right of access, Wilson’s trial was it. Instead, we have a post-hoc document dump.
Haven’t we been saying all along that Darren Wilson’s ass needs to go to trial, the brown family needs a DEFENSE, and Wilson a JURY TRIAL.
