“The vids re: #WalterScott show EVERYTHING the police say never happens: racial profiling, planted evidence, lies, media complicity, murder.”

How do I introduce this poetry video? The poet speaks of what you already know from experience.
And, yet, I feel as if I need to provide a warning that his poetry performance will tear your heart, bring tears, and bring out the heavy sadness of the known experience. Julian Randall speaks so genuinely from his heart. He shares what is in his heart with us so well that I ache with his every word.

    • I don’t want to hear what the cops mom has to say about their baby. Walter Scott is dead. Michael Slager stole a life and he didn’t have to. He did it b/c he wanted to. There was no threat whatsoever.

What would’ve been the issue with just staying quiet right now. Geez. There really always has to be someone making sure people remember the humanity of the cop, while the cop clearly showed a lack of it, in his interactions with others. Please, have several seats and kindly stop telling us what you think your son is when we’ve been shown who he truly is.

  4. I love you, Feidin Santana. Thank you for the video. God’s blessings upon your life.

Dear fellow white people… it doesn’t MATTER why #WalterScott ran. What matters is that the cop shot him in the back, lied about it.

Rep. Jim Clyburn Blames Conservatives for Walter Scott Shooting

..Clyburn said that the relationship broadly between African Americans and law enforcement is “very, very bad” and blames the American Legislative Exchange Council, a nonprofit conservative group that drafts and promotes state legislation, and the billionaire Koch brothers, who have donated to ALEC.

Clyburn called the group “dangerous” and claimed that it was partly responsible for the death of Scott because of its support of conservative legislation, including the “stand your ground” laws that allow a person to kill in self-defense without having the duty to retreat. He then added that while the Kochs are lauded for their philanthropy in New York City—they have giving hundreds of millions of dollars to Memorial Sloan Kettering Center and the home of the New York City ballet and opera—some Ku Klux Klan supporters were once viewed as “upstanding citizens” as well.

“Let me tell you something, people who used to fund the Ku Klux Klan who were upstanding citizens by every other stretch of the imagination,” Clyburn told TIME. “The Klu Klux Klan didn’t run free throughout the South without financial support from some upstanding people. And that’s what’s going on here. The Koch brothers may be upstanding people in New York but they are funding these draconian attacks on voting, attacks on young black males—and that’s what ‘stand your ground’ laws are all about.”

A very brave young man. When someone is brutally murdered the only thing that can help the family in the immediate aftermath is to know the truth. This young man provided that for this family and may God bless him. Now comes the long march to justice, hopefully.

  7. eliihass says:

So it all began because a black man was driving a Mercedes -albeit it an old one..

  8. rikyrah says:

I have never seen the video. I don’t need to see the video. the description of what happened was enough for me.

If the murderer had shot a dog that was running away from him, there wouldn’t be any discussion about what he did.

I’ll remind folks that it’s LEGAL to have only one working tail light in South Carolina.

So, why the phuck did he pull him over for a broken tail light.

    • eliihass says:

The body language of the police officer in the dash cam video was of studied, calm aggression. He was determined to find something. Mr Scott was already guilty, the officer was only working to find a charge to stick him with.

Why are they just now releasing the dash cam video? Even with was they’ve released, the officer’s initial accounting of the event still isn’t corroborated by this dash cam video.

  9. WTF is Tom Fuentes problem? Says to stop bringing up Trayvon Martin’s name in police conversations.

  13. Liza says:

It has been open season on black men in this country since the day they were brought here. We’re just seeing a continuing recurrence of these 21st century race killings being committed by cops because of 21st century technology. Cops have been killing black folks for a long time and getting away with it. And we know for a fact that no one has been counting the dead bodies. No one has followed up with those who were maimed. We would have to employ methodologies used to count the number of people killed in a war to estimate how many black people have been killed and maimed by cops in this country.

And they just keep killing. Folks are watching, making videos, telling the world on social media what is going on this country but these cops just keep killing. The recent messages they have received from Darren Wilson and Daniel Pantaleo tell them that there are absolutely no consequences for any form of reckless policing that causes the death of a black man or child because this is America and that’s the way it has always been. A cop who kills a black person will not be indicted at the state level and will not be indicted for civil rights violations by the DOJ because, apparently, the federal laws are just not strong enough and “the bar is too high.” So these killer cops go on TV and get paid for talking about their crimes and then the cop worshippers flood their websites or their gofundme accounts with donations. Crime pays, for some folks at least.

This is the problem from hell that is so pervasive throughout the criminal justice system that we are probably still just looking at the tip of the iceberg. Look at Ferguson, for example. We only learned about the citizens of Ferguson enduring constant police harassment and intimidation because the DOJ investigated after Michael Brown’s murder. We don’t even know the depth and breadth of America’s cop problem, we just know that every day that goes by brings more bad news. And we know that the cop problem is only one piece of what is wrong with the entire criminal justice system.

This has to be a campaign issue in the 2016 presidential election. It absolutely has to be. The GOP will either avoid it or proclaim that everything is working just fine. And I can’t think of any Democrats who have the courage to take on an issue that would alienate the working class whites who they think are the key to winning in 2016. But this issue has to forced on them, literally rammed down their throats. None of this gets solved by waiting for people of good will to finally become the majority of the citizens. Forget that, it won’t ever happen.

    A shame

  19. OMG! Walter Scott’s younger brother, Rodney Scott, almost passed out during an interview with @CNN. They had to cut the interview. Rodney Scott had to grab a hold of his attorney’s arm. You could see he was clearly going to pass out. So heartbreaking! That poor family! *tears*

I post video as soon as it’s available.

Walter Scott is the not the abnorm but the norm. Police brutality really is a continuation from the Civil War too. Did you know today marks the 150th Anniversary to end the Civil War. Only been 150 years. The bloodiest war on U.S. soil estimated 600,000 died. Confederate Robert E. Lee surrendered to Gen Ulysses S. Grant. Lee had only 28,000 famished soldiers left and the document they drew up promised to treat them fairly and provide food and supplies.
On Twitter racists talked of this never acknowledging the civil war was about slavery and as if angry over statement of Confederates losing. My take is they are still mad. Confederate flags still flown and displayed throughout the south. I think the supremacist carry this hatred for losing the war over to Policing, Education, Government etc. Thus a byproduct is police brutality. Because of the callousness of Walter Scott’s murder was warlike to me. We’re in a blindsided battle.

TELL.THE.TRUTH. They really do want to go to war with us, PEOPLES OF COLOR.

That’s why they buy up all the guns and tote them around like an appendage.

        Bringing NOTHING but the TRUTH!

      • Speak on it, Joyce!

And the election of President Obama was the straw that broke the camel’s back. All hell has broken out and they’re on a black man killing spree. White supremacy is going to get revenge for helping to put a black man in the oval office.

    • Joyce says:

On Twitter racists talked of this war ALL the time never acknowledging the civil war was about slavery. I posted several articles proving their statements wrong. Also when they post Civil War comments its as if they’re angry over statements/references of Confederates losing. My take is they are still mad. This one was gonna go the way of all the others. If it hadn’t been for another human being knowing what he was seeing is wrong and taping it this son if a bitch would be walking like all the other officers. It’s time to stop putting all of these officers on a pedestal and start treating them like any person who got caught shooting another and not just take their word. When a black man loses his life at the hands of police they question till the cows come home how he contributed to his own death and then give reasons why the cop had no choice. This isn’t fair, eqyal, or justice. It’s taking the word of one over ” the other”. And now since we see that cops can and do lie, shouldn’t we question all of their stories, since they all have such eerily similar circumstances. Almost as if cops are taught how to get away with murder. All pds must be dismantled and rebuilt with more educated, wordly, compassionate, people who truly care about community and not just extending their hand in discipline and showing others how much power they have been allowed to wield, with virtually no real training.

“All pds must be dismantled and rebuilt with more educated, worldly, compassionate, people who truly care about community and not just extending their hand in discipline and showing others how much power they have been allowed to wield, with virtually no real training.”

This would mean DISMANTLING WHITE MEDIOCRACY & SUPREMACY.

      • sunshine616 says:

And that’s why they fight so hard for something so unjust, their supremacy is everything to them and with that entitled unearned supremacy comes the mediocrity u speak of. They only have to be meh to earn respect and even when we earn the highest accomplishments our words are questioned and our lives are demeaned. This is their united states of america, we are simply allowed to live here. I’m scared for my kids!

      What did Chris Rock say?

  21. majiir says:

Slager knew he had f*cked up because he started saying “sh*t” over and over again. It pisses me off that his buddies in the police dept. went to bat for him and were fully intent on lying about what happened until the young man showed up with the video. SMDH. Blacks have been dealing with this mess for centuries and getting no justice. Fox News’ Greg Gutfield said, he couldn’t “believe his eyes” when he watched the video. Even he says what Slager did to Scott was wrong. Duh! He has spent so much time convincing Fox viewers that we’ve been crying wolf when we’ve been complaining about being abused by police officers in every frigging state. Now, he sees it for himself, but I don’t expect him to keep his eyes open for long because he gets paid handsomely to deny reality. The only reason he had to finally admit that Slager was wrong is because the video shows exactly what happened, and neither he, nor Bill Shine, or Roger Ailes, could find a way to “spin” the situation. They got smacked up side the head with the reality we’ve been living with, and dealing with, for centuries.

What disgusts me most is that some have set up a defense fund for Slager. I remember a time when someone did something that was so obviously, and egregiously, wrong, no one started a fund to raise money for him/her. It’s just appalling to me that some Americans see, and use, any opportunity to reward those who have committed horrendous crimes or who have said sh*t they shouldn’t have said, like some raised almost $1 million for the bakery owner in Indiana. It’s no wonder that so many are now leaving organized religion, especially Christianity. Most people don’t deal well with hypocrites and liars who give Jesus, and all he stood for, a bad name.

    • Ametia says:

Yes, setting up those defense funds clearly states they are funding the status quo

      A CULTURE OF WHITE SUPREMACY

    • sunshine616 says:

I mean look what happened with Darren wilson and the stupid pizzeria. The white “christians” doing their best to show us how they stick up for their kind. I mean really, it’s pretty fucking appalling that you can get rich in this country by flaunting intolerance and murder under the guise of laws made by white people to protect other white people’s rights to be murderous and hateful. Just fucking wow!

  22. Walter Scott shot dead over a traffic stop & the media wants us to be afraid of Muslims, ISIS while police terrorizing & killing black people.

    • eliihass says:

That was his mum at that press conference crying and praying…

Yes, that really got me too; seeing this grown man running helplessly and being hunted like an animal.

  23. Whew lawd! The officer shot down Walter Scott like he was prey and he did it so calmly. It’s open season on black men in America.
