Kids Set to Take Over the White House for a Day (Sort of)
    Mar 27, 2015, 8:40 AM ET
    By JORDYN PHELPS

    Calling all kid presidents!

Having a parent who works at the White House is no longer a prerequisite for participating in “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The chance to spend a day “at work” at the White House used to be limited to the sons and daughters of staff who work there. But this year, on April 23, the president and first lady are also opening the White House gates to kids in the D.C. community who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity.

“Every year, lots of kids are left out,” President Obama said in a web video, announcing the new twist to the long-held tradition of parents bringing their kids to work for a day. “Maybe they’re foster kids, or homeless, or struggling in school, or their parents don’t have jobs that allow them to bring their kids to work

I do believe this. Transferred hate.

    • Ametia says:

      FUCKING A!

    • sunshine616 says:

I believe it to. The hatred for one man of color has been evenly distributed to all people of color now. Everything is his fault so now it’s ours too. Dress well, get educated, be respectful and then we will treat u as equals. Tell that to our president, who suffers attacks daily because he was the elected commander in chief and those that hold strong to their power are still in disbelief that they have to take orders from someone who they believe to be unequal. Racism is a culture in this country. There has to always be an “other” to rule or take advantage of. Never, in their wildest dreams, did they think, their supreme right to whiteness, would be challenged, and wow, are they running scared. All the bundys, men in blue, and right wing nut jobs that continually vote against their own interests, are losing their shit because they believe their privilege is being questioned, and whether they like to admit it or not, it’s a nice privilege to believe that you will get home in one piece after a traffic stop. I wouldn’t want to give away my right to live either. And that is what we are fighting for. They are fighting for the right to take our lives unpunished, unquestioned. Let that sink in and tell me things have changed.

FLOTUS Michelle Obama Says Malia and Sasha Are Not Influential and I Love It
    Luvvie — April 7, 2015

I’m not a parent yet but I look forward to the day where I can tell my children that what’s mine is NOT theirs. First Lady Michelle Obama was told that Malia and Sasha were chosen by Time Magazine as two of the most influential teens and she did the Mommy-est thing she could. She disagreed.

“They are not influential. They just live here. They have done nothing to gain any influence.” I LOVE HER. She is such a Black mama because she even laughed at the idea. Like psht. She almost said “those jokers? Nah.”

You haven’t been insulted til your parents bring you back down to life in such a way

S.C. Cops Exonerated in 200+ Shootings

The police officer who shot an unarmed black man in the back eight times before killing him will stand trial for murder, but his conviction is far from certain. The State reported two weeks ago that police in South Carolina fired their weapons at 209 suspects in the past five years, but not one has been convicted. Just yesterday, a white policer officer from North Augusta was charged with with a felony (discharging a gun into an occupied vehicle) after shooting a black man to death through the man’s car door when he was in his driveway.

“Not every office is trained in CPR.” DROPS MIC, WALKS OFF STAGE

Short: WHITE OFFICER SHOOTS UNARMED BLACK MAN IN THE BACK 8 TIMES!

NO CPR FOR YOU, WALTER SCOTT.

      • eliihass says:

That left me gobsmacked Ametia! Every Boy and Girl scout is CPR trained, and here we are in 2015 and we’re being told that police officers aren’t all CPR trained!

      • eliihass says:

Even nannies are being required to have CPR training. But you do remember that even if they are, many of these cops won’t even offer it to dying black victims. Remember how the emergency response team stood around refusing to give Eric Garner CPR?

Jurors in the Boston Marathon bombing trial have found Dzhokhar Tsarnaev guilty on all 30 counts, including 17 that carry a possible penalty of death.

Jurors will reconvene at a date not yet set to decide whether Tsarnaev will be executed. They deliberated for 11½ hours before reaching Wednesday’s verdicts. Tsarnaev stood with his head bowed and his hands clasped as the decision was read.

How Will White Conservatives Defend the Killer Cop Who Shot Walter Scott?
    by WARN

Another unarmed black man has been shot dead by a white police officer.

The video can be watched here. I will not be posting or otherwise sharing it online.

I do not want to contribute to the online necropolis of black bodies shot dead by cop and/or white identified vigilantes.

I am also finding it difficult to convey my exhaustion with once again having to write about how another unarmed black man has been killed by the police. My hand is moved by a commitment to tell the truth; writing is a small act compared to those who actually suffer the slings and arrows of racist white violence by America’s police.

    • Ametia says:

SHOOTING an UNARMED Walter Scott in the back was not a BAD DECISION, IT WAS COLD-BLOODED MURDER

    • sunshine616 says:

What we saw in this press conference was an attempt to quell the protests. They believed if they fired and charged him quickly and talked about body cams on officers, it would solve everything, but, in the shadows of their answers lay the truth that they believe. By not answering questions and giving the family time to mourn they give themselves more time to formulate answers that satisfy their white base and quiet the calls from justice. They want us to care about the welfare of the family of the murderer and remind us that they are trying to be humane. How nice that they are giving the benefit of the doubt to a murderer. I’m starting to think this good cop bad cop thing is as much a fantasy as the I existence of white supremacy. In what world do you shoot someone in the back and think it’s ok to mosey on over to the body as if it is a stroll in the park. Any attempts by anyone to justify, or pick words carefully in the description of this crime shows that power and supremacy is what’s most important to that individual.
Let’s be honest here, the chiefs disgust in the video is not what happens in it but the fact that it was caught on video at all.

      • sunshine616 says:

I meant nonexistence of supremacy. Sorry for the spelling error, As it kind of changes the meaning of the sentence

      • Ametia says:

        TELL.THE.TRUTH, SUNSHINE616. TELL.IT.

      • Ametia says:

Yes, let’s care about the murderer Michael Thomas Slager made “a bad decision.” WHITE pregnant wife, PLEASE!

      • sunshine616 says:

Can we discuss the callous and almost trained and rehearsed way he walked over to scott and planted evidence? It’s almost as if there’s a class in the academy called how to get away with murder. Someone call shonda! Smh!

      • sunshine616 says:

Oh and that bad decision BS!! That press conference was a bad decision. Murder and planting evidence is a crime.

      • Ametia says:

That mayor is so full of shit. Notice they always try to humanize the killer cops and their family while our men and boys are being gunned down like wild animals. Fuck these fools.

      • sunshine616 says:

And this is how we know that if there wasn’t video this would’ve ended like all of the others. Even with video they couldn’t bring themselves to really label him a killer or a killing. It’s a tragedy! Nah dude, your boy in blue fucked up, pregnant wife or not. Admit it, punish it, make sure it never happens again, but no, the poor wife who is pregnant lets think about her, who still has her husband breathing today, and now gets to keep her health insurance. whereas if I got fired from my job my family would lose their benefits at the end of the month. Where is the humanity in that? And body cameras are not the answer damnit!!! It’s a culture. They all need to be retrained. I believe that cops should have a four year degree with classes heavy in sociology, psychology as well as criminal justice and law courses.

      • eliihass says:

“..I believe that cops should have a four year degree with classes heavy in sociology, psychology as well as criminal justice and law courses…”
