      Some serious truths Ametia..
Who knew Wesley was a brave truth-teller..?
Spike has never been afraid to tell his truth when he feels like it…and his speech ran the gamut – racism, gentrification, the fallacy of standardized tests as the only way to determine superior talent and ability, discrimination, demeaning, disregard and offhand dismissal of black people, demands that black people be 10x better and even when they excel and top their class, are still denied everything their white peers would have enjoyed – like winning the best film thesis at NYU Film school and never being sought out by any of the top Hollywood directors or studios..whereas a white mate would be immediately wooed – and wined and dined by every top Hollywood industry big shot..

But most importantly, he unmasked the so-called ‘liberal-minded’ Hollywood who all mostly voted for President Obama, but still have no regard for black people in general..Most having still only a black security guard in their employ and as the only non-white person on their staff at their huge studios…and when they decide to hire black talent, they pick one usually white-washed, non-threatening suck-up black actor/actress who takes on a mostly fake persona and stomach-turning affectation, and is so manufactured and cloying. They tout and pass around this token ‘acceptable’ and usually beholding black person – and proceed to recycle them for everything – award shows, nominations/presentations, magazine covers, etc. as if there were a lack of talented black people in a business that is brimming over with incredibly talented black actors and actresses who’ve barely worked in years –

“They tout and pass around this token ‘acceptable’ and usually beholding black person – and proceed to recycle them for everything – award shows, nominations/presentations, magazine covers, etc.”<b.

This is why I am weary of Lupita Nyongo being splashed across the cover of mags everywhere.

Why are folks pretending that 2008 wasn’t a bloody fight btw Hillz & Obama and that a lot of us were not amused by Hillary’s campaign

    • eliihass says:

      Not just 2008…
Why does everyone pretend that Hillary didn’t unceremoniously telegraph that she was abandoning the administration – and then actually go on to quit her SoS job hoping to run against her boss – or to push V.P Biden off the ticket to set herself up for 2016..?

Why are we pretending that close friends and advisers of theirs were not – and continue to this day, brazenly bad-mouthing, undermining and sabotaging the Obamas and the administration for the entire 8 year duration…and not once did Hillary ask her friends to stop…Heck, Bill was making very hostile moves until just a few weeks before the 2012 DNC convention where he got top billing to flatter himself – Has everyone forgotten that some of the President’s re-election senior campaign staff had to go meet with Bill in New York to negotiate his ransom demands and to see how to meet them to get him onboard and to stop publicly undermining and contradicting the President..?

Has everyone forgotten that even as Bill paid minimal lip-service at the DNC convention in 2012, and actually made it really more about how great he was…that he was still sending unsolicited advice on how to kneecap the President, to Romney and even Paul Ryan…and was still getting counsel from Mark Penn who helped him strategize and write his speech? Have we forgotten that Bill’s right-hand man and top advisor and confidant Douglas Band publicly declared in 2012 that he was voting for Mitt Romney..?

      http://www.politico.com/story/2012/09/report-clinton-aide-voting-romney-080617

Have we forgotten that Hillary conveniently left the country during the elections and refused to even compliment or say a positive word about her boss – with the excuse that her position as SoS prohibited her from ‘getting involved politically’ – As if

…Yet, she and her campaign somehow have had no qualms in typical Clinton bullying form, making John Kerry the current SoS, all but publicly endorse her for president even though he’s also now in that same post that supposedly precludes the holder from chiming in on anything political..?

Pray tell, where were all these voices now shushing us and insisting that we must rally like good Democrats around Hillary our great white hope, or risk the Republicans decimating our country…Where were they when Lynn de Rothschild, James Carville, Kiki Mclean, Ed Rendell etc. and their other rogue No Labels brethren were actively attacking and undermining this historic presidency…Heck, does anyone even remember that they even sent out the usual corrupt, greedy, self-serving black voices like Doug Wilder and Willie Brown to push hard for President Obama to drop V.P Biden and put Hillary on the re-election ticket in 2012…?

These people must really learn to stop insulting our intelligence…

        Ametia,
We had a serious discussion about Anne Boleyn, and why she died. The little budding feminist was furious that Anne was killed because Henry VIII wanted a son. She was indignant: ” he had a wonderful daughter. How dare he did that to Anne Boleyn because she could not give him a son.”

    WARN

Will the Paris Terrorist Attacks Finally Force American Conservatives to Tone Down Their Violent Rhetoric?

n Friday night, the city of Paris, France was under attack by terrorists armed with guns and explosives. More than 100 people have been killed. Hundreds have been wounded. There was mayhem and blood in the streets of Paris.
President Obama has correctly described the day’s horrific events as “an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share.”

Terrorism is politically motivated violence against a vulnerable population that is designed to intimidate, sow fear, create panic and alter public policy.
Terrorism is serious business that kills people, breaks bodies and alters lives.
    It is not a game.

In the United States, the right-wing media and movement conservatives have for decades consistently used eliminationist and other violent rhetoric to describe liberals, progressives and other people with whom they disagree. As was seen in the recent attacks on a Charleston-area black church, and other violence by right-wing anti-government militias, such rhetoric does not float in the ether of the public discourse, harmless and unacknowledged. No, it does in fact lead to action.

Our Terrorism Double Standard: After Paris, Let’s Stop Blaming Muslims and Take a Hard Look at Ourselves, If the political cycle is not changed, the cycle of violence will continue

By Ben Norton / Salon November 14, 2015

Anytime there is an attack on civilians in the post-9/11 West, demagogues immediately blame it on Muslims. They frequently lack evidence, but depend on the blunt force of anti-Muslim bigotry to bolster their accusations.

Actual evidence, on the other hand, shows that less than two percent of terrorist attacks from 2009 to 2013 in the E.U. were religiously motivated. In 2013, just one percent of the 152 terrorist attacks were religious in nature; in 2012, less than three percent of the 219 terrorist attacks were inspired by religion.

McCain: Obama’s failed leadership led to rise of ISIS

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) says President Obama’s “failed policies” and lack of leadership have led to the rise of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

“It’s because of the president of the United States’ failed policies, ‘leading from behind,’ which has led to this chaos and renewed influence and growth of ISIS,” McCain told John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on New York’s AM-970 on Sunday.

McCain predicted in the interview, which was conducted before the terror attacks in Paris on Friday, that ISIS would take advantage of the migrant crisis to send its operatives to major Western cities.

“I am sure that Baghdadi, the leader of ISIS, has already told some of these young men, go into the refugee flow and call us when you get to Berlin, New York, Paris, wherever it is,” he said.

A migrant passport was found on the body of one of the attackers responsible for the Paris massacre.

Greek police have sent the fingerprints of the person registered to the passport to officials in France to confirm the passport belonged to the assailant, according to the Associated Press.

McCain said the U.S. must be “very, very careful” about whom it admits to the country.

(McCain need only look no furhter than COLUMBUS, the discoverer who invaded America and claimed he discovered it.)

    http://thehill.com/policy/national-security/260178-mccain-obamas-failed-leadership-led-to-rise-of-isis

    THIS:

“No Senator McCain . . . our incursion into Iraq, toppling Saddam, destroying the country, putting a US Puppet regime in place in our feeble attempt to nation-build led to the rise of ISIS. Bush conflated 9-11 with Iraq and we threw gasoline on that terrorist fire. I don’t blame Obama for not doing the SAME THING OVER AND OVER and expecting different results. The Arab countries in the region need to put their OWN skin in the game. Otherwise, US ground troops will be dragged into another NEVER ending quagmire.”
