  1. I don’t see Democrats stepping up & doing one damn thing about police violence against black people but yet want our votes. They don’t give a damn about black lives. Black people killed daily by police and Democrats tongues are glued to the roof of their fucking mouth.

Minorities exploited by Warren Buffett’s mobile-home empire

GALLUP, N.M. — After a few years living with her sister, Rose Mary Zunie, 59, was ready to move into a place of her own.

So, on an arid Saturday morning this past summer, the sisters piled into a friend’s pickup truck and headed for a mobile-home sales lot here just outside the impoverished Navajo reservation.

The women — one in a long, colorful tribal skirt, another wearing turquoise jewelry, a traditional talisman against evil — were steered to a salesman who spoke Navajo, just like the voice on the store’s radio ads.

He walked them through Clayton-built homes on the lot, then into the sales center, passing a banner and posters promoting one subprime lender: Vanderbilt Mortgage, a Clayton subsidiary. Inside, he handed them a Vanderbilt sales pamphlet.

“Vanderbilt is the only one that finances on the reservation,” he told the women.

His claim, which the women caught on tape, was a lie. And it was illegal.

It is just one in a pattern of deceptions that Clayton has used to help extract billions from poor customers around the country — particularly people of color, who make up a substantial and growing portion of its business.

The company is controlled by Warren Buffett, one of the world’s richest men, but its methods hardly match Buffett’s honest, folksy image: Clayton systematically pursues unwitting minority homebuyers and baits them into costly subprime loans, many of which are doomed to fail, an investigation by The Seattle Times and BuzzFeed News has found.

Clayton’s predatory practices have damaged minority communities — from rural black enclaves in the Louisiana Delta, across Spanish-speaking swaths of Texas, to Native American reservations in the Southwest. Many customers end up losing their homes, thousands of dollars in down payments, or even land they’d owned outright.

The teen has been wanted since Dec. 11, after he missed his probation meeting, authorities said. Couch’s notorious “affluenza” defense in 2013 spared him jail time for killing four innocent bystanders in a drunk-driving crash. Another victim, a teenager, was left severely brain damaged and paralyzed.

If the police thought Tamir was an adult, then why didn’t his Second Amendment rights protect him? Oh. Right.

    Dave @D_v_E
Our legal system is adversarial in nature for a reason. Prosecutors are supposed to present the state’s case to a grand jury. Period.

    Dave @D_v_E
It’s not a prosecutor’s job to present conflicting evidence to a grand jury. It’s not a prosecutor’s job to present the defendant’s case.

    Dave @D_v_E
The sole function of the grand jury is to determine whether the state has evidence to go forward with a prosecution. That’s it.

    In an OPEN CARRY STATE,

a child was EXECUTED in less than 2 seconds.

The pivotal question for me, since the beginning of this travesty is:

HOW, did this obviously unqualified man, get a position on the Cleveland Police Department? For me, it was the key to why they have been so odious with this case. Blaming a CHILD for being MURDERED in less than 2 seconds. Nobody wanted to answer this obvious question, so they have been peddling hard at the coverup on this case, because the answer to that question would mean the loss of numerous jobs.

Webb Attacks Clinton With Eye on Independent Run

When Jim Webb quit the Democratic presidential race on Oct. 20 amid low poll numbers and a minimal debate presence, the former Virginia senator left open the possibility he’d return for a White House run in a different political guise. Now he appears to be edging closer to making good on it.

On Saturday morning, Webb used Twitter and his Facebook page to attack Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton for her handling of Libya during her time as secretary of state.

The lengthy condemnation on Facebook, which said, among other things that “Clinton should be called to account for her inept leadership that brought about the chaos in Libya,” came just days before the end of the year, which his team had previously told CNN would be reasonable time for them to make a decision about an independent bid.

Since dropping out of the race for the Democratic nomination, Webb has continued to maintain his Webb2016 website, which he has updated with posts about the possibilities of an independent run. On Twitter, he and his fans have been promoting a #WebbNation hashtag.

A run by Webb, who often manages his own social media accounts and has also used them recently to promote a petition in favor of his run and to deliver kudosto Bernie Sanders in his battles with the Democratic National Committee (“nothing more than an arm for the Clinton campaign,” Webb tweeted), could further complicate the already unpredictable 2016 election.

While observers typically have analyzed the prospect of a third-party or independent run by Republican front-runner Donald Trump — or even one from Sanders — Webb could still alter the dynamics of the race even with his smaller profile.

A recent CNN poll, for instance, forecast tight races between Clinton and several Republican contenders in hypothetical match-ups for the general election. Webb’s campaign has told Bloomberg it would concentrate on mobilizing voters in the ideological middle, along with people who have become dissatisfied with politics.

In a tight race, even a small base of support could make him a factor. Ralph Nader, for instance, famously won only small percentages of the vote in many states in the 2000 presidential election, yet that arguably helped tip the Electoral College vote to then-Texas Governor George W. Bush, denying Democratic Vice President Al Gore, the winner of the popular vote, the presidency.

This is a HOT MESS. and agian why DWS€ needs to BE GONE. We don’t have any FORWARD-THINKING Democratic candidates. Just more rehased, recycled FOOLISHNESS

    • Liza says:

There is huge difference between Ralph Nader and Jim Webb. Ralph Nader has nationwide name recognition and he’s had that for a long time. Jim Webb is nobody and name recognition costs a lot of money that he can’t raise because he hasn’t got an ice cube’s chance in hell of winning. At the most, he can get a relatively small amount of financial support from a relatively small group of supporters who might wish to disrupt the election. But he won’t make a dent in this election, he is nobody.

A Cuyahoga County, Ohio, grand jury has declined to indict police officers Timothy Loehmann and Frank Garmback in the death of 12-year-old Tamir Rice on November 22, 2014, according to prosecutor Tim McGinty.

Loehmann shot the boy after being called to a Cleveland park where the boy was playing with a toy gun.

  33. Liza says:

Anyone could have predicted this, but when it actually happens it is just another kick in the gut. Tamir Rice is a murdered child. Period.

First Book mixes market forces and philanthropy to help poor children

By Lyndsey Layton December 27 at 6:36 PM

In a small, two-bedroom apartment in Corona, Calif., Trinity Santos, 5, reads her hardcover copy of “Green Eggs and Ham” again and again. She never tires of the Dr. Seuss classic, sometimes reading it to her 3-year-old brother, Joshua, said their mother, Diane.

Life is a struggle for the Santos family. Diane worked as a waitress before her children were born, and the family of four lives on the $35,000 that her husband earns as a phlebotomist. They don’t have much.

But the children own the four dozen books in a small, homemade bookcase, courtesy of First Book, a nonprofit organization that combines market forces and philanthropy to get new books into the hands of poor children to encourage early reading.
