10. Jimi Hendrix
This isn’t really accurate, because Hendrix won a Grammy in the year 2000 for best music film. But he’d been dead for 30 years when they gave it to him, and I’m sticking this in the “Lifetime Achievement” award category that I’m not really counting for the purposes of this made-up list on the internet.

State Department Dumps Hundreds of Hillary Clinton Emails Hours Before Nevada Caucuses
https://news.vice.com/article/state-department-dumps-hundreds-of-hillary-clinton-emails-hours-before-nevada-caucuses
Hours before the start of the Nevada caucuses, where Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are locked in a dead heat, the State Department dumped another batch of Clinton’s emails from her tenure as Secretary of State, dozens of which were retroactively classified “confidential” because they contain sensitive information.
The 562 emails cover a wide-range of issues, including discussions about Israeli settlements; appointing ambassadors to vacant posts; NATO-led bombings in Afghanistan that resulted in a “large number” of civilian casualties; Clinton personally lobbying lawmakers to support free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea; and a completely redacted email about Senator John McCain that White House official Denis McDonough was copied on, which prompted Clinton to request that her aide, Cheryl Mills, call her “thru ops” — a likely reference to classified channels.
An email sent to Clinton on December 30, 2009 by Sidney Blumenthal, her unofficial adviser and longtime confidant, contained complaints from a former CIA official and former CIA analyst (and possibly the sources of some of Blumenthal’s intelligence on other subjects that he sent to Clinton during her tenure, which the State Department retroatively classified) alleging that President Barack Obama was trying to “throw the CIA under the bus” and blame the agency for failing to thwart an attempted terrorist attack. The email centered on the failed Christmas Day plot by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to blow up a jetliner bound for Detroit with plastic explosives hidden in his underwear.
Tyler Drumheller, who was chief of the CIA’s European Division, sent Blumenthal an email exchange he had with Larry Johnson, a former CIA analyst who was a staunch supporter of Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign against Obama. (Drumheller died last year.) Drumheller’s email contained a copy of an article Johnson wrote on his blog No Quarter that took Obama to task for the intelligence failure. Blumenthal forwarded Clinton Drumheller’s email and Johnson’s article:
H: I am forwarding you the email exchanges from Tyler Drumheller and Larry Johnson, which explain how the CIA is being blamed, their understanding of what went wrong in the intelligence process, and how politicization by the White House is antagonizing the intelligence community. Both Tyler and larry have called me too to express their consternation. Hope this is helpful. Sid
Clinton then forwarded Blumenthal’s email to her senior advisor Philippe Reines and wrote, “FYI.”
Will Nevada caucuses be Clinton’s firewall or Sanders’ proving ground?
http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-democrats-nevada-analysis-20160219-story.html
Hillary Clinton has done just about everything right ahead of Saturday’s caucuses in Nevada.
She began organizing early, visited the state repeatedly, hired some of its most talented political professionals and cultivated broad support from organized labor, Democratic leaders and the party’s grass roots.
But Clinton made one glaring mistake: She failed to take Bernie Sanders seriously enough.
Most crucially, she allowed him to dominate the television airwaves in the state starting in December and continuing through his momentum-building performances in the first two presidential nominating contests in Iowa and New Hampshire.
Now Clinton’s once-sizable lead in voter surveys has all but vanished, and both sides are bracing for a close finish.
“Nevada has become a highly contested race and could either be Clinton’s firewall or Sanders’ proving ground,” said Rebecca Lambe, a top strategist for Democratic Senate leader Harry Reid of Nevada, who has not taken sides.
It is far too soon to talk in terms of political life and death, or other such melodramas.
But a loss in Nevada, which once seemed almost inconceivable, would do grave harm to Clinton and establish the Vermont senator as more than a charmingly irascible distraction en route to her certain nomination.
Even a close Sanders finish could raise strong doubts about Clinton’s candidacy, especially if he manages to cut deeply into her presumed base among Latino, black and Asian American voters.
Powerful Nevada Latino Group is Sitting Out Caucus
by Amanda Sakuma
LAS VEGAS – Minority voters on Saturday will play a critical role for the very first time this election, and yet, the major powerhouse that typically drives Latinos to the polls is instead staying out of the process almost entirely.
Nevada’s influential Culinary Union has shied away from activating its massive voter mobilization machine, leaving the bulk of its political organizing on ice after union leaders decided to hold back on endorsing a presidential candidate just yet.
But Culinary is not just declining to chose sides. In fact, the union has done uncharacteristically little to ensure that its 57,000 members — nearly half of whom are Hispanic — will turn out to caucus on Saturday.
…For Clinton, the Nevada caucus will be a major test to her
stronghold on support from minority voters. Bernie Sanders could
dramatically reshape the race moving forward if able to prove that his
support extends far beyond white voters.
There are signs that the Clinton campaign is feeling anxious about its lock on Latino voters without Culinary to draw members to caucus.

Didn’t I say this earlier? His HEART has always been with the HILSTER!
LOL
LOL..
In the end, the racists will only be emboldened and quite frankly, seriously amused and as far as they’re concerned, their default racist assumptions of inferior mind and will – all ‘validated’ in more ways than one….Realizing that after all their nerves and worry that they’d been exposed and that their days of brazen, arrogant racism, overreach and impunity, were now over…that ‘the blacks’ were not after all, going to revolt and demand better…
That in spite of all that unfolded in the course of the last 8 years.. all the free lessons God arranged for us to learn…all the exposing that God arranged for us to witness… and all the opportunities to get smarter, recognize our worth and latent power…and stake our rightful position as a dignified people, deserving of respect – not humored or patronized…and whose support had to be, going forward, respectfully sought out, and properly and fully earned…
Obviously, not much was learnt by those who were meant to have learned lessons…notwithstanding those very instructive happenings that very publicly played out and showed us who was who – and what was what…
What was supposedly a breakthrough – a rare opportunity to re-boot and from a new place of strength and principle…insist on much better for black folks…All of God’s massive effort to help us along, and out of that prostrate horizontal position where for too many years black folks have laid – and have been stomped on, and walked all over …all that assist offered these past 8 years was all for naught…
The take-away today from these so-called black leaders is that black folk are fickle, dumb and easily bamboozled…lacking in self-respect…
That they can be peed on, and that the person peeing on them doesn’t even have to lie any longer that it is raining…That they will in fact seek out massa, and practically beg to be peed on…That having been in that prostrate position for so long, they have become quite comfortable in it…and any attempt to get them up from the ground to stand tall, and look massa in the eye and demand respect, is considered unhelpful and actually offensive, and will be immediately rejected..
After all this time in politics, most of these so-called ‘politically savvy’ folks seem to have entirely missed that even most basic of lessons from massa, on how to extract concessions when you are in a position to get one…or like the Clintons, even when you aren’t owed any – or shouldn’t be in a position to extract any…
For all their jigging… they are just so grateful for their names to be mentioned from massa’s lips….blatantly exploited under the barely there guise of being marginally acknowledged in the audience – as Hillary did last night with a very giggly and over the moon Marcia Fudge…I mean, Jim Clyburn by his own account, wasn’t even being actively or directly courted by the Clintons themselves any longer…Clyburn himself had to practically track down Bill Clinton to excitedly and worshipfully tell him that he would be making the official endorsement – to which the Clintons responded with a nonchalant shrug and an ‘you really don’t have to’…
For these folks, massa’s passing acknowledgement of them is always going to be more than enough…the leftover shrimp here, and a sip of cheap wine there…that’s extra sweetener…
p.s:
Massa’s pat on the head, and the lure of massa’s naturally much colder ice cubes, also have an ecstatic Luis Guiterrez, Tom Perez and Juan and Joaquin Castro acting all feisty and punch-drunk….obsequiously traversing the country to Latino-rich zip codes to secure the Latino firewall for massa Hillary, the inevitable, in what should have been a breeze process to a planned coronation…and shockingly, at only just the start of the Democratic primaries …instead of being back in D.C doing the jobs they were mostly propped up for, and mostly undeservedly hired to do…
SPEAK! I’m APPALLED at the way this party has DIGRESSED. Everything PBO has built. The HOPE, MOMENTUM, INTEGRITY, in working with the process.
But all that hard wok in building, was not good enough fort these folks. They’re like frighten little children.
I.CAN.NOT
It’s all so depressing Ametia..
And everyone wonders why people get turned off politics and politicians – become jaded and completely disengage from the democratic process…
They want it back to BUSINESS AS USUAL.

GOP tries to make up Supreme Court ‘tradition’ that doesn’t exist
02/19/16 12:48 PM—UPDATED 02/19/16 12:53 PM
By Steve Benen
Marco Rubio, like most Senate Republicans, intends to maintain a blockade against any Supreme Court nominee put forward by President Obama, regardless of the person’s qualifications. He even has a talking point he’s eager to share.
Yesterday, CNN’s Jake Tapper noted, for example, that Justice Anthony Kennedy was confirmed in President Reagan’s final year in office, but Rubio replied that doesn’t count because the nomination was made a couple of months prior. The senator added:
“This is a tradition that both parties have lived by for over 80 years where in the last year, if there was a vacancy in the last year of a lame duck president, you don’t move forward.”
Rubio isn’t the only one using the word “tradition” this way. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said on social media yesterday that President Obama should “follow a tradition embraced by both parties and allow his successor to select the next Supreme Court justice.”
I’m not unsympathetic to the idea that traditions matter in the political process. In fact, I made just such a case earlier this week, exploring the consequences of congressional Republicans abandoning traditional norms that have helped make governing possible for generations.
But now seems like a good time to add some clarity to the matter. Honoring traditions is one thing; making up traditions that don’t actually exist is something else.
Look at that Rubio quote again: “This is a tradition that both parties have lived by for over 80 years where in the last year, if there was a vacancy in the last year of a lame duck president, you don’t move forward.”
Now, I have no idea if Rubio is confused, uninformed, or trying to deceive the public. I do know, however, that his talking point doesn’t make any sense.
There is no such “tradition.” In order for something to become “traditional,” it has to happen routinely over the course of many years, and in this case, the number of instances in which both parties have agreed to leave a seat on the Supreme Court vacant for a year, waiting for an upcoming presidential election to come and go, is zero.

Trump: ‘I would be so angry’ at Obama if I were black
Republican primary front-runner Donald Trump on Friday said that if he were black, he would be angry at President Obama, the first black president.
“People don’t know I’m a unifier,” Trump said at a rally in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. “You know, Barack Obama, African American. If I were African-American, I would be so angry at him.”
Trump said black unemployment has gone up under Obama’s watch.
“African-American youth has an almost 60 percent unemployment rate,” he said. “African-American people that are 25, prime-time age, 25-40, have such a high unemployment rate, you wouldn’t believe it. It’s gone up and it’s gotten worse since he’s been president

James Clyburn standing on the sidelines in 2008 was a big deal. But, didn’t nobody think he wasn’t for Obama..his whole family was volunteering for Obama big time back in 2008. If you recall, it wasn’t even close…Senator Obama stomped Hillary.
SC was also where we got the Bill Clinton ‘ Well, Jesse Jackson won South Carolina too.’
comment.
James Clyburn has made it clear to me, that he was always a Hillary supporter-HEAD-HEART.
He called out Bill Clintons & Hillary’s shenanigans in 2008. He didn’t take kindly to being lectured and talked down to by Bubba and their scorched-earth tactics and racial dog whistles.
But his head -heart have always been for Hillary.
Bill Clinton disrespected James Clyburn and treated him like a dog, called folks bastards, no way in hell would I have endorsed his wife. Hell to the fucking no!
This stranglehold that the Clintons have on black legislators in Congress and many other black folks is beyond my comprehension. They do not deserve this loyalty, they have not earned it, in fact they’ve done just the opposite.
I can’t even make up reasons why this should be so.

Clyburn on 2008: Bill Clinton Told Me, “If You Bastards Want A Fight, You Damn Well Will Get One”
Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC), the most powerful African-American in Congress, recalls a 2am phone call he received from Bill Clinton after Barack Obama defeated Hillary Clinton in the 2008 South Carolina primary.
Clyburn stayed neutral in the primary, however Bill Clinton didn’t think so.
“If you bastards want a fight, you damn well will get one,” Clinton said according to Clyburn.
“He was very upset,” Clyburn recalled. “His wife had just suffered a major defeat in the South Carolina primary, and I had not been involved in it, but Bill Clinton thought otherwise.”
“We met by accident several weeks later… we’ve seen each other several times since. In fact, I had a lovely breakfast with Hillary two to three years after that. I think everything’s okay,” Clyburn told ABC News’ Jeff Zeleny in an interview aired on Yahoo!
