The Candidacy of Hillary Clinton – Deja Vu All Over Again

I am watching the so-called candidacy of Hillary Clinton, and all I get is that sense of deja vu. Like I’ve been here before. And, the reason for it is – because we have.

Those of us who had questions about Hillary’s candidacy in 2008 were told to sit down, shut up, and how dare you question her candidacy.

Those of us who HAVE questions about Hillary’s candidacy in 2012, are being told to sit down, shut up, and HOW DARE YOU bring receipts from 2008.

” Barack Obama got past what really didn’t happen in 2008, so you should to.”

HOW many times have I read that in tweets?

Too many times.

As someone wrote on another blog:

The “PBO made her SOS” is becoming the new “All lives matter”

Instead of saying, yes, Hillary skeptics, we understand your criticism, but, see, here is where Hillary apologized for the behavior in 2008.

Ooops…but, they can’t say that, can they?

BECAUSE, as so many point out…

Hillary has NOT APOLOGIZED for the behavior in 2008.

And, telling folks that they should ‘get over it’, doesn’t really work well.

Neither does..’ well, Obama did it too’.

I call absolute, utter BULLSHYT on that one.

See, unlike some folks, I remember 2008 clearly.

And, I was the one in charge of the Clinton Attacks Obama with Racial Incidents Wiki in 2008.

And, folks here, followed that Wiki when I was writing for another blog.

But, now, I see the new tactic for Hillary apologists, especially the Black ones, is ” I’m not going back.”

Because, see, they couldn’t justify what she did in 2008, especially when we had the candidate Barack Obama.

These folks wanted to shin and grin for her in 2008, but Black folks were like, you Kneegrows better sit down and shut up.

But, since they don’t see another challenger for Hillary, they’re all about the ‘ I’m not going back. ‘

Really?

Seriously?

The GOP isn’t the only one given talking points.

Be sure to check out for other Hillary-stans and see if that meme is being spread around.

I’m willing to bet that it is.

The ONLY thing Hillary had in 2016 that she had in 2008 as the reason why SHE should be President is ELECTABILITY.

That is what she has over Bernie Sanders.

That is what she tried to sell in 2008.

And, like then, I never bought that argument.

I wasn’t even completely on Barack Obama’s side as a candidate in 2007, but the Hillary Clinton electability argument was pure horseshyt even in 2007. Follow the numbers. I did it then, and they made no sense to me. I do it now, and they still make no sense.

Her unfavorables were 50% in 2007.

So, I was like, why start out, with a candidate that HALF THE COUNTRY HAS SAID THEY WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR?

Why put yourself in that trick bag?

I never got an answer from Hillary stans back then.

Her unfavorables are above 50% RIGHT NOW.

BEFORE the GOP spends 1 BILLION DOLLARS.

But, they keep pushing this woman. They keep pushing this unelectable woman.
They keep on pushing this woman who doesn’t want to embrace the coalition that won in 2008 & 2012. Let’s be clear on that.

Hillary Clinton and those around her – resent the PHUCK that Barack Obama found a way to blow up all conventional wisdom.

Conventional wisdom was that you HAD to win at least 1 Southern State on your way to the Presidency.

Barack Obama showed – no you don’t. It’s NICE that he won the Southern States that he won, but if he hadn’t of won them, HE WOULD STILL PRESIDENT.

Barack Obama has shown the way.

TWICE.

But, folks act like fat meat ain’t greasy.

They don’t want to admit his brilliance. Because, they are still butt hurt that he laid waste to them in 2008.

So, they pretend that he didn’t show the path, and start that bullshyt like they did in 2015 – about ‘Clinton Democrats’. Because, heaven forbid, that this President has shown them ANYTHING.

It’s their arrogance. Every step of the way. They can’t admit that he beat them. They can’t admit that he showed a better way. They can’t admit the depth and breadth of his accomplishments, which is why she was deliberately criticizing this President, until the Obama Coalition made it clear:

IF YOU THINK YOU ARE GOING TO BADMOUTH PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA AND GET OUR VOTES, YOU ARE PHUCKING DELUSIONAL.

So, now, that those ‘ Whites…hard-working Whites’….are clear that they will vote against their own economic self-interest

EVERY SINGLE TIME…

Suddenly, she realizes that the Obama coalition is the path to the White House.

Our poster Liza always asks often:

What is THE POINT of Hillary Clinton running for President?

And, I reply:

Because she believes she is ENTITLED to be President.

Period.

It’s not for the betterment of the republic.
Nobody can honestly tell me that they TRUST her – domestic on foreign policy -wise.

You can’t.

You make $75k speaking in front of groups, and can’t tell us about the speeches?

Really?
Seriously?

But, I’m supposed to believe that she will defend the working man.

Sure.

I wrote before that we have the right to bring receipts. Continue to insult us, and we will dig even further.

I told you, the email ‘ scandal’ wasn’t a scandal…it just revealed her lack of character.

The real…criminal cases are coming….indictments….and corruption…

Are all wrapped up in the Clinton Foundation.

But, nobody wants to talk about that, and we’re bad folks for reminding folks that the Clinton’s bring nothing but MESS.

I refuse to defend her mess.

She’s a bad candidate.

Period.
And, it’s pitiful watching the Democratic Party shoot themselves in the foot by attaching themselves to this albatross.

It would almost be funny, if the future of the republic weren’t at stake.

Before I vote for Hillary, I’d stay at home and not vote at all. All those Black folks in Congress tooting the horn for Hillary have disappointed me to the point, until I took them out of my black book and put them in my brown one (the dung list).

    Lets discuss this

Clinton overload today…She has an ad playing every 15 minutes or so on my t.v today…Including one where she sounds like she was the president who made all these decisions and ‘won’ all these bogus accomplishments…It’s as if she has already been president to hear her tell it..

I tell you fam, one thing you can count on with Hillary is that she will always overplay her hand…bank on it…LOL..

  6. I’ve had to drop more black people from my timeline lapping Hillary than white people. Go figure.

    • eliihass says:

      Sad, but not surprising SG…

It’s been disturbing for sure, but as some friends of ours pointed out, sometimes our people are quite frankly, fickle, disappointing and a total let down..

My friend who’s a twitter-monster of sorts…and an author and professor of psychology who’s working on a book at the moment that deals with race, mind, mindset, stereotypes, conscious and unconscious influences, self-loathing, inferiority complex etc… tells me twitter is a heartbreaking treasure trove for her to plow through for material..

She says it’s startling just how little black women really support and look out for each other – even though they talk a lot about it in theory…and even with all the history, how so many – especially the educated and professionals are quick to jump up to rally for and defend a white woman like Hillary, than they are likely to rally for or support a fellow black woman….and usually only in a bid to obtain acceptance, validation, or to get ahead – and mostly, to be seen as ‘better’ but only because of and by association with white folk..

In perusing most of the twitter accounts of some black folks – including women – and most of the white folks who effusively support Hillary, she says she finds that most do not follow the first black First Lady…but every last one of them follow Chelsea Clinton – and of course Bill and Hillary…Apparently you twitter folks have your way of figuring these things out – because I tried to look, but since I’m not on twitter, I can’t only read tweets, but can’t see other stuff -… but she also said that she could tell that some followed the original Barack Obama account earlier on, but some had only just recently added the POTUS account..

She also pointed out something interesting…most of the White House folk current and former – including the President’s Cabinet Secretaries all mostly follow Hillary, Bill, Chelsea and the Clinton Foundation, Jill Biden, Valerie Jarrett, and certain celebrities…but only a couple of them like U.N Ambassador Samantha Power follow the First Lady…She was fascinated to find that Susan Rice does not follow the First Lady, but follows Jill Biden, Hillary, Bill, the Clinton Foundation, Herbie Hancock – and until very recently also followed Chelsea Clinton – but she’s noticed that she no longer follows Chelsea…But my friend kept screen shots of who most of the high-profile women she’s using as research for her book follow – at least from when she first started looking them up to see…She says it’s very instructive…as are their likes, tweets etc..

My friend argues that black women in reality aren’t really there for each other…that the friendships and the sisterhood thing is a myth…that support for each other is mostly mercenary and only fleeting where it even exists…and doesn’t really run as deep as believed…There’s too much envy, spite, belly-aching, begrudging, back-stabbing…a lot of noise, but very little positive action…she says there’s something admirable about how these white women many of whom hardly know – and don’t know Hillary, rally for her – They build up their own – and certain black women then flock to that mythical great white hope they build…and jig as hard as if their lives depended on it…

It’s fascinating stuff…there’s so much more and I could go on…but you get the drift…

  7. Well well. Looky here.

How dare anyone try to discredit folks work.

Isn’t it amazing how the very same white ‘feminists’ who never thought Sandra Bland worth defending or fighting for – and never even gave a passing thought to her story…and even some men and women who thought Sandra Bland got what she had coming to her because she ‘didn’t follow instructions’ and ‘mouthed off’ to the almighty police…And those who thought Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown were ‘thugs’…

Isn’t it amazing how all these feminists and Hillary folks are now all so ‘sentimental’ and waxing poetic over Sandra Bland – and only because she now serves a purpose and is one more way to wangle Hillary into the White House…

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but does anyone of my fam here recall hearing any of these white feminists – or the black elected officials running around singing for Hillary…does anyone here recall hearing any express outrage or even sadness over Sandra Bland…because I sure don’t…and I was paying attention..and I know that all of my family here were too..

  10. The buck dancing has begun…

    buck-dancing-coon

  11. Massa Hillary has sent the message AAs are her firewall and negroes are falling over themselves. Massa Hillary needs us.

  12. I’ve never seen such fuckery from black people. And the first thing they tell you is they’re not going back. Fools can’t even see they already are going back.

  13. eliihass says:

What burns me most is how they not only preemptively set out to coronate Hillary, but they deliberately set out to leave us with absolutely no options but Hillary – and then turn around and try to alternately scare and guilt us into voting for her by using that age old and well worn-out tactic of trying to force-feed her to us as our only ‘choice’ – and holding us hostage by threatening the GOP bogeyman if we don’t..

If the GOP wins, it won’t be because we refused to be strong-armed into voting for Hillary…It will be because the Democratic party hierarchy and those who own them, tried to brazenly rig the process while insulting our intelligence and treating us as stupid, useful idiots – and we refused to indulge them – or to play along…

  14. OH GOT DAMN! Hillary Clinton stopped after church in South Carolina to eat a Fried Chicken Dinner and court a key demographic. This pisses me off to no end.

    • eliihass says:

Right now if it will get her into that Oval office she’s been obsessing over, Ms. Hilly will willing wolf down that entire special chocolate pie laced with that special ingredient, that Minny made for the other Hilly in The Help…

  15. Ametia says:

When a candidate goes to the same LAME, BROKEN DOWN COLORED FOLKS in the CBC, who haven’t done JACKSHIT to help uplift their constituency for decades, grieving black mothers and fathers who have lost their sons & daughters, recycled Dem Reps from the 90s who have been in office forever and a day, to reach out to BLACK VOTERS…….

THAT IS PANDERING of the LOWEST. It’s insulting to me to think that these tactics would ever inspire me to vote for any Democrat, let alone this woman.

    • eliihass says:

Tells you everything you need to know…

      • Ametia says:

        Here we go!

        eliihaas from Sunday’s post:

At some point we really, really need to stop elevating and hero-worshipping so many of these folks..

Pretending that too many of them aren’t in fact in the end, only self-serving weasels, cowardly opportunists and massa bootlickers…

As I’ve always said, I hardly do heroes….and on the rare occasion that I do, I don’t look at just their public life…I scrutinize the personal first…that is the true measure of any man or woman…how he or she has lived their life personally – and how they and it has affected those closest to them – wife, husband, kids…the well-being of these people first and foremost… because as my wise mom always says, charity begins at home..

I focus less on the ‘hero’ being touted and celebrated …and pull back the curtain to see about the family…the spouse and children…the first and most important responsibility of anyone, including the heralded…the hero the public puts on a pedestal…

No matter how professionally ‘successful’ a person is, I take my actual cues about them from how well their spouse and kids are doing – how they’ve held up…If they fail that most basic of tests, they’re worthless as far as I’m concerned…I don’t hero-worship people who are only consumed with self and playing to the public …or those who curiously tout their kids only – and in isolation of the ‘phantom’ mother who birth them..

And in a time when so many men are shirking their responsibilities and commitment to their wife…and with the advent of this new trend that focuses on, and a sudden emphasis on men as fathers first…that entirely serves to distract from, and absolve some of them of their equally important responsibility to the mother of their children…and their prime role as husband…I have little patience for men (and women) who are in fact a**h*les, but who’ve been put on a pedestal by the public because they can act, sing, make money, build things, are good politicians, doctors, lawyers – or just by virtue of their celebrity…or being at the minimum, ‘good’ fathers…

In a time when it’s so rare, I marvel at and honor any successful man whose wife and kids are truly thriving and successful with, and right alongside them as a family..” <

        • eliihass says:

          Thanks Ametia..

They’re all cowards and opportunists…When they aren’t outrightly jiggin like Joy Ann, they’re cowardly retweeting and misleading with the ‘powerful read’ crap..

Why Hillary Clinton Doesn’t Deserve the Black Vote
From the crime bill to welfare reform, policies Bill Clinton enacted—and Hillary Clinton supported—decimated black America.
    By Michelle AlexanderFEBRUARY 10, 2016

When Bill Clinton ran for president in 1992, urban black communities across America were suffering from economic collapse. Hundreds of thousands of manufacturing jobs had vanished as factories moved overseas in search of cheaper labor, a new plantation. Globalization and deindustrialization affected workers of all colors but hit African Americans particularly hard.

On the campaign trail, Bill Clinton made the economy his top priority and argued persuasively that conservatives were using race to divide the nation and divert attention from the failed economy. In practice, however, he capitulated entirely to the right-wing backlash against the civil-rights movement and embraced former president Ronald Reagan’s agenda on race, crime, welfare, and taxes—ultimately doing more harm to black communities than Reagan ever did.

We should have seen it coming. Back then, Clinton was the standard-bearer for the New Democrats, a group that firmly believed the only way to win back the millions of white voters in the South who had defected to the Republican Party was to adopt the right-wing narrative that black communities ought to be disciplined with harsh punishment rather than coddled with welfare. Reagan had won the presidency by dog-whistling to poor and working-class whites with coded racial appeals: railing against “welfare queens” and criminal “predators” and condemning “big government.” Clinton aimed to win them back, vowing that he would never permit any Republican to be perceived as tougher on crime than he.

Just weeks before the critical New Hampshire primary, Clinton proved his toughness by flying back to Arkansas to oversee the execution of Ricky Ray Rector, a mentally impaired black man who had so little conception of what was about to happen to him that he asked for the dessert from his last meal to be saved for him for later. After the execution, Clinton remarked, “I can be nicked a lot, but no one can say I’m soft on crime.”

Clinton mastered the art of sending mixed cultural messages, appealing to African Americans by belting out “Lift Every Voice and Sing” in black churches, while at the same time signaling to poor and working-class whites that he was willing to be tougher on black communities than Republicans had been.

Clinton was praised for his no-nonsense, pragmatic approach to racial politics. He won the election and appointed a racially diverse cabinet that “looked like America.” He won re-election four years later, and the American economy rebounded. Democrats cheered. The Democratic Party had been saved. The Clintons won. Guess who lost?

Bill Clinton presided over the largest increase in federal and state prison inmates of any president in American history. Clinton did not declare the War on Crime or the War on Drugs—those wars were declared before Reagan was elected and long before crack hit the streets—but he escalated it beyond what many conservatives had imagined possible. He supported the 100-to-1 sentencing disparity for crack versus powder cocaine, which produced staggering racial injustice in sentencing and boosted funding for drug-law enforcement.

Clinton championed the idea of a federal “three strikes” law in his 1994 State of the Union address and, months later, signed a $30 billion crime bill that created dozens of new federal capital crimes, mandated life sentences for some three-time offenders, and authorized more than $16 billion for state prison grants and the expansion of police forces. The legislation was hailed by mainstream-media outlets as a victory for the Democrats, who “were able to wrest the crime issue from the Republicans and make it their own.”

When Clinton left office in 2001, the United States had the highest rate of incarceration in the world. Human Rights Watch reported that in seven states, African Americans constituted 80 to 90 percent of all drug offenders sent to prison, even though they were no more likely than whites to use or sell illegal drugs. Prison admissions for drug offenses reached a level in 2000 for African Americans more than 26 times the level in 1983. All of the presidents since 1980 have contributed to mass incarceration, but as Equal Justice Initiative founder Bryan Stevenson recently observed, “President Clinton’s tenure was the worst.”

Some might argue that it’s unfair to judge Hillary Clinton for the policies her husband championed years ago. But Hillary wasn’t picking out china while she was first lady. She bravely broke the mold and redefined that job in ways no woman ever had before. She not only campaigned for Bill; she also wielded power and significant influence once he was elected, lobbying for legislation and other measures. That record, and her statements from that era, should be scrutinized. In her support for the 1994 crime bill, for example, she used racially coded rhetoric to cast black children as animals. “They are not just gangs of kids anymore,” she said. “They are often the kinds of kids that are called ‘super-predators.’ No conscience, no empathy. We can talk about why they ended up that way, but first we have to bring them to heel.”

    • Liza says:

The execution of mentally impaired Ricky Ray Rector is heartbreaking, asking for his dessert to be saved. I wonder if Bill Clinton slept that night after overseeing the execution.

    • Liza says:

I can just imagine Bill in the black churches, laying on the charm, singing with the choir, eating up the delicious food. The hypocrisy is overwhelming. But he knew where the votes were.
