Eddie James, born in Phoenix, AZ, accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 8. He entered into music ministry at the tender age of 9 and it is for this reason that Eddie recognizes the gifts of God inside of young people. God has placed a burden inside of Eddie James, to minister to those who are hurting and lost, with an extraordinary emphasis on youth and young adults. As a result of his efforts, God has established Eddie James as a leader of music and ministry in the nation and around the world.
Higher with The Phoenix Mass Choir was Eddie James his first recorded national album. Higher debuted at number 10 and went to number 3 on the national charts. Since then he has recorded ten other projects that have impacted our nation and our world. His group ColourBlind, a culturally diverse group of five young men, released an album called, The David Story. This album contains twelve chapters of the book of Psalms put to music. They also recorded a soundtrack to their musical production called, Break the Walls. Break the Walls is a musical production designed for high school and college youth that deals with the issues of drugs, violence, pre-marital sex, racism, and dysfunctional families. Eddie James along with ColourBlind has reached over 200,000 youth in America with this musical drama presentation. Through this message of hope, countless numbers of lives have been changed.

Iran election: Reformists win all 30 Tehran seats.
Allies of Iran’s reformist President Hassan Rouhani have won a landslide victory in Tehran, in the first parliamentary vote since Iran signed a nuclear deal with world powers.
With 90% of the votes counted, the pro-Rouhani List of Hope is set to take all 30 parliamentary seats in the capital.
The leading conservative candidate Gholamali Haddad-Adel is in 31st place.

The results are a huge setback for hardliners. Two of the most prominent amongst them have lost their seats, and a third is hovering right at the bottom, in danger of being eliminated.
The biggest shock is the poor showing for Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi, the current chairman of the Assembly. He replaced former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani when he was forced to relinquish the role. The irony is that Mr Rafsanjani is now leading the polls in Tehran.
The top ideologue of the hardliners, Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi has also lost his seat. He is the spiritual guide of a group that includes former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The parliamentary result in Tehran is significant because lawmakers from the capital usually determine the political direction of the house, analysts say.
However, reformists look to have done less well in constituencies outside the capital.
Mr Rouhani said on Saturday that the election gave the government more credibility and clout.
“The competition is over. It’s time to open a new chapter in Iran’s economic development based on domestic abilities and international opportunities,” the official Irna news agency quoted him as saying.
“The people showed their power once again and gave more credibility and strength to their elected government.”

I’m more than a little heartbroken at the news today about Melissa Harris-Perry’s departure from MSNBC. Her show is set to record on my DVR each weekend. Mostly on weekends, I’m running errands or sometimes at church or just somewhere else when her show airs but I always – always – watch it later (skipping the commercials, thank you DVR). Harris-Perry’s has become for me a kind of touchstone for Where We Are Now in the nation in terms of race, gender and a range of social justice issues. Melissa Harris-Perry is also a the North Star for what it means to a scholar-activist-journalist in the digital era.

Victims found in Fort Wayne home killed ‘execution style’
ORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The three victims whose bodies were found in a Fort Wayne home this week all died of gunshot wounds, the Allen County Coroner’s Office said early Friday.
The bodies of Mohamedtaha Omar, 23, Adam K. Mekki, 20, and Muhannad A. Tairab, 17, all of Fort Wayne, were found by police inside a home in the 800 block on East Lewis Street on Wednesday. The coroner’s office said each died of gunshot wounds and ruled their deaths homicides, the second, third and fourth of the year.
The coroner’s office would not say how many times the victims were shot but Police Chief Garry Hamilton said later Friday that each was shot “multiple” times. Public Safety Director Rusty York said they were shot “execution style.”
Fort Wayne police were called just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday to the the white, two-story home between Francis and Harmar streets and found the three dead inside a single ground-level room of the home.

Atty. Gen. Kamala Harris overwhelmingly wins state Democratic Party endorsement

— Significant: Kamala Harris won the California Democratic Party endorsement for Senate at a state convention last night. It allows the attorney general to solidify her status as the front-runner over rival Loretta Sanchez in the race to succeed the retiring Barbara Boxer. “Harris captured 78.1% of the votes to earn the state Democrats’ official seal of approval,” the Los Angeles Times reports. “It’s a prize that provides her with a clear edge in the June 7 primary and, most likely, financial support from the party.”
