  1. I may be wrong but I have never seen Joy report ANYTHING negative about Hillary Clinton.

You are right about that SG…Joy Ann Reid is more like a Clinton surrogate – and actually, acts like she’s more invested and aggressive than even Chelsea is…

She sure loves the validation and pats on the head she’s getting from the PUMAs and white feminists…

They say that folks who marry for money earn every penny. I don’t know, but I suspect some do.

Now that she’s out, I wonder if Hillary might have an opinion now…and if she might try to get Marissa and her attorney to endorse her…

    BYE BYE BEN!

Ben Carson has told the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference that he is ending his presidential bid.

“But even though I might be leaving the campaign trail, you know there’s a lot of people who love me,” He told the CPAC crowd. “They just won’t vote for me, but it’s OK. It’s not a problem. I will still continue to be heavily involved in trying to save our nation.”

Earlier Friday, My Faith Votes announced that Carson would be its new national chairman. The group is focused on getting out the Christian vote in November.

      HOLLERING!

You say something kinda, sorta racially insensitive — not Strom Thurmond racist, but mildly racist (80s sitcoms racist, basically) — and it results in a conversation

We’ve accepted that even the coolest and most well-intentioned White people can harbor some problematic race-related feelings. Even if dormant and mostly suppressed, they’re still there in some form. Basically, racism is the White person’s herpes. And, like herpes, if you do happen to say something that makes us cringe, if we like you enough, you’ll stay around. It might even start a conversation about why what you said was wrong.

We won’t, however, share beers with you anymore. Because herpes.

Nancy Pelosi Just Dropped Presidential Campaign Bombshell, Comes Out Against Superdelegates

Political pundits have been analyzing polls and fretting over voter turnouts in the primaries to try to determine just who will win the Democratic presidential nomination. Or at least some have, even though a significant number simply crowned Hillary Clinton the nominee from the beginning. But regardless of which nominee you’re supporting, something happened today that speaks volumes about which way the tide is turning in the Democratic primary.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D – CA.) has just dropped the biggest bombshell of the campaign, and you may not even have heard about it. Mark my words, when we look back, we’ll see that this was the turning point. The Hill reported today that Pelosi came out against the superdelegate system which is currently of great benefit to Hillary Clinton.

“I’m not a believer in the sway of superdelegates deciding who is going to be the nominee. I think we have a democratic process where people vote on both sides of the aisle … and that that should determine who the nominee is.”

      WHAT????

Ametia, no matter how hard they pretend otherwise, I think there’s a bit of enmity …hard competition between these two women…They’re both equally ambitious and want power, control and a following that they can use not only to do their political bidding, but to exploit and wield to undermine to make a point when things don’t quite go the way they’d rather…They both want to be head cheese…

In many ways, I don’t think Nancy believes that her ‘first’ as first woman Speaker…has been sufficiently respected and celebrated and touted – and the political heft and deft and the necessary savvy and political skills needed – and that she employed – to outwit, maneuver and deliver in Washington D.C as she so successfully pulled off in a predominantly male-dominated and hard to penetrate and doggedly rigid institution, has been sufficiently discussed, memorialized, acknowledged, celebrated and appreciated…and not repeatedly or nearly enough…

Nancy Pelosi is a quintessential old school Italian-American politician…she excels at old school politics played at its most deliberate, and ‘clever’, hardball and hardnose …all while smiling, well-dressed and coiffed and temporarily distracting and disarming you with the presence of her family and grand-kids…She is constantly playing a political move …almost nothing is done in isolation with Ms Nancy…but not in the same callous or greedy and self-serving way as Hillary…Nancy is just a political animal period…She lives and breathes politics…and sometimes, it’s really quite innocent…and other times, it’s a chess move…She learnt politics at the feet of some of the masters of politics – and not always the most honorable…And there is a whole lot of ego at play…

As the article says: “…Someone asked on Facebook if Pelosi was really against superdelegates or simply doesn’t like Clinton. And I say this: Nancy likes Nancy, and she’s always going to look out for Nancy’s best interests. Bet on it…”

I agree to some extent to both perspectives…

But in the end, Nancy is super wily…and Nancy will never concede her power …she will wield it often and as effectively as possibly to her own end…and she will also ensure that whatever the result is in the end…that she retains all of her power…and even amass more if possible…But she is more of an old school girl…she does not indulge in the blatant and mostly crass Clinton-style pay to play negotiations…she’s more into the subtle maneuvers and a ‘thieving gentleman’s’ handshake that leaves no fingerprints in the end…even if she gives permission to her people to quietly leak her lead role in the deal – after the fact – and only if it’s big enough and boast worthy…But you’ll never hear it from her lips – even if her eyes boast of it and she waits for you to pay her homage…she has her toadies do the clean-up and announcements afterwards – but only if it boosts her strength of place of power..and she remains seemingly above the fray…

To be fair, Nancy did hold the same views about superdelegates in 2008…but it’s curious that nothing was ever done about it – and nothing more was ever said about it – until now again in the thick of this rigged 2016 primary enroute to a coronation…

Her daughter Christine who’s a superdelegate has withheld her support of any candidate and has this Move-on petition going:

I guess there’s no negro running for POTUS & beating the stuffing out of Hillary in the primaries, so no need to hold out for a possible:

    So true:

    Clash of Republican Con Artists
    Paul Krugman
    MARCH 4, 2016

So Republicans are going to nominate a candidate who talks complete nonsense on domestic policy; who believes that foreign policy can be conducted via bullying and belligerence; who cynically exploits racial and ethnic hatred for political gain.

But that was always going to happen, however the primary season turned out. The only news is that the candidate in question is probably going to be Donald Trump. Establishment Republicans denounce Mr. Trump as a fraud, which he is. But is he more fraudulent than the establishment trying to stop him? Not really.

Actually, when you look at the people making those denunciations, you have to wonder: Can they really be that lacking in self-awareness?

Donald Trump is a “con artist,” says Marco Rubio — who has promised to enact giant tax cuts, undertake a huge military buildup and balance the budget without any cuts in benefits to Americans over 55.

Cicely Tyson on House of Cards?

    Really?

    …………………

Who Is Doris Jones On ‘House of Cards’ Season 4? Cicely Tyson Will Go Toe-To-Toe With Claire Underwood

    KELLY SCHREMPH

Just when you think a show can’t possibly get anymore star power than it already has, you find out that the legendary Cicely Tyson has joined the cast of House of Cards Season 4. And while you’ve undoubtedly seen her praise-worthy acting talents throughout the years, this is absolutely going to be one role of hers you won’t want to miss. Why is that, you may ask? Because she’ll be going toe-to-toe with Claire Underwood herself. Portraying the part of Texas congresswoman Doris Jones, Tyson will give what’s sure to be a memorable performance while tackling from very real and poignant issues regarding race and class.

In fact, according to a Baltimore Sun review of Tyson’s role, her character will start off having a very civil meeting with Claire, however, things soon take a hostile turn and leads to Representative Jones “viscerally communicates what it feels like to be offended by race and class privilege” to the First Lady. Sounds pretty intense, right? And given that it’ll take place between two powerhouse female actors, I have no doubt that we’ll all be on the edge of our seats. (Or perhaps even fall right off of them? You never know!) So you better believe that Tyson is going to take Season 4 to a whole new level of amazingness.
