MSNBC Settling for “Token” Blacks to Give Voice to Political Issues in 2016 Election Season

*Looking @ Joy Reid*

MSNBC makes its BLACK and other peoples of color LEADING SHOW HOST disappear like Casper, one-by-one, by one!

First Martin Bashir, Alex Wagner, Joy Reid, and Rev Al Sharpton-who was eventually relegated to Sunday morning during church hour, from a 5 evenings/week.

The Black President is leaving the White House next year. There’s a new election cycle this year, no need for all these negroes having their own shows anymore. NEXT!

We know that it’s all about the $$$$-PROFIT-ALSO, TOO!

Tamron Hall and Craig Melvin still have air time at MSNBC. But don’t wait for the hammer to come down on you, because it’s only a matter of time before you two are given your walking papers too.

Melissa Harris Perry’s weekend show got the axe last month.

After Tense Weeks, Melissa Harris-Perry’s MSNBC Show Is Canceled

Excerpt from article:

“MSNBC, which significantly trails Fox News and CNN in ratings, is in the midst of an overhaul, pivoting away from its left-leaning identity toward hard news in the daytime hours. Ms. Harris-Perry had been the host of her show, which focused on issues like racism and social justice, since 2012.

On Friday, she went public with an email that she sent earlier that week to staff members in which she complained that the NBC News chairman, Andrew Lack, and Phil Griffin, the president of MSNBC, were letting her twist in the wind.

“I will not be used as a tool for their purposes,” she wrote. “I am not a token, mammy, or little brown bobble head. I am not owned by Lack, Griffin, or MSNBC. I love our show. I want it back.”

Now we have Joy Reid making the rounds on the remaining MSNBC shows as the token smart Black political correspondent.

5:35 minute mark:   It’s CRINGE-WORTHY, the condescension here. Yet Joy just laps it up. We all got to work for a living, but don’t think for one damn minute that MSNBC won’t let your black ass go, when you no longer serve their needs.

Rachel: “Joy Reid, thank yu so much. That was the actually the best interview segment I have had with anybody on this show in a very long time. You’re so SMART! (Pats Joy on head)  My words here.

(Rachel, this sure makes a nice case for Joy getting her show back, now doesn’t it?)

Joy: “Thank you! Thank you!” (Grins)

Rachel: “Joy Reid, we’re very lucky to have her.”

Luck has nothing to do with it, Rachel. You’ve got a role to play, and that’s to make Joy, the negress feel special, feel wanted, needed…

I’ve got 6 decades of living under my belt. I’ve seen and experienced this kind of shit, and it’s not pretty. some white folks think their prime role in life is to validate my BLACKNESS, MY VERY BEING.

And yes, we know life isn’t free. You got to work for a living, but must you compromise your self-worth, by catering to these folks?

Now we all know that Joy Reid is smart.  She’s likey smarter than the remaining  MSNBC white show hosts, yet she has been assigned to make the rounds on these shows and speak to the racial issues that MSNBC decides they will cover when they feel like.

Joy, if you’re really smart, might I suggest you negotiate a deal with MSNBC for a show in the evening, right before TRMS. You can report on all the political issues of the day, just like Rachel.

Are we missing something? Would you rather sit around the table for these interviews playing the “LITTLE BROWN BOBBLEHEAD?” ……….

Or use that HARVARD degree and deliver news and political issues with some INTEGRITY somewhere else.

You can do better than this, Joy, so much better.

Question:  Has Joy accepted the role of the “token, mammy, or little brown bobble head?

Granny—->waving her hand to say hello at SG2, Ametia, Rikyrah, and everyone else.
When those black folks who voted for Hillary wake up and they’ll be sorry. I put the Clintons in the same category as I do con artist. What’s in the dark will come to the light.

Ametia when I grow up, I want to be just like you. :) Burn baby burn that sucker down with the TRUTH.

Okay, Granny going and grab her favorite chair over in the amen corner and kick off her shoes and relax awhile and read what y’all post today. I’m praying that the Clintons trip over the truth and expose their hand for all to see. In other words, I’m praying for them to have one of those Romney moments where they get caught exposing their deception.

    Y’all stay keeping it real.

    Love y’all

When MHP apologized for that incident about Romney’s black grandchild, I wondered if the reasoning might be along the lines of “the end justifies the means.” Perhaps thinking that without the show, she would have difficulty reaching as wide an audience on issues that do matter. I just don’t know.

Even if that were true in some of these cases, people really have to set boundaries on how far they will allow themselves to be compromised in the interest of holding on to a position. At some point, you are just a buffoon, a stooge, a person without credibility who no one really listens to anymore. And then it looks as though you are doing this for yourself, for the money, for the celebrity, whatever.

Credibility doesn’t come and go. Once gone, it pretty much stays that way. It’s hard for me to imagine that selling out is worth it, especially for those who could do better but simply lack the will or the courage.

    • Ametia says:

      Well said, Liza. Enough already!

Brian Williams sits on the MSNBC set with Ms. Maddow and Mr. ‘Spittles’ Matthews during this election season, after falsely relaying (LYING) Iraq war experiences, he was suspended for six months.

Martin Bashir got fired for remarks he made about the Snow HO’ Palin, and is nowhere to be found.

When are these folks going to learn, that the same rules don’t apply to them at MSNB?

  3. rikyrah says:

You laid it out. It’s so absolutely SUSPECT.

    and, frigging OBVIOUS.

I actually was watching that segment and cringed

    • Ametia says:

Thank you, Rikyrah. My blood was boiling after that segment.

Here’s the thing. These white folks who get to stay on the set and sit in the big HIGH CHAIR, don’t have to do the research, learn the history of racism, and what black folks have gone through.

It’s often told through a jaded lens, where their sources have white-washed, revised, distorted, and down right ignored the facts about America and her shameful, criminal history of RACISM, ECONOMIC EQUALITY, etc.

Folks like Eugene Robinson, Joy Reid, MHP, and for sure Rev. Al are given a platform to bring the TRUTH as only they can tell it.

Now we get bits and pieces of it, though filtered through a few segments with the supposed grand liberal queen of MSNBC Rachel Maddow, espousing her utter delight and awe of the Negress Joy Reid’s INTELLIGENCE!

It’s so disappointing, shameful really to sink to that level to keep a job.

  4. AMETIA bringing the heat….

    Waiting to exhale

    • Ametia says:

LMBAO You see those flames shooting from that burning car?

That’s exactly how I felt, after watching the end of that video segment with Joy and Rachel.

  5. Who didn’t see this coming? A Leopard never changes his spots. But folks want to get on their train tho.

  6. Girrrrrrrrl, you done brought out your switch!

    • Ametia says:

My husband GASPED in disbelief listening and watching that segment. He’s not one to respond and stays fairly neutral in his responses to shit like this.

He’s opening his eyes more to the foolishness in America.

  7. Ametia says:

I can’t. I couldn’t stand it any longer…The shameful, ingratiating, groveling, demeanor of Ms. Reid.

Check yourself, before you wreck yourself.
