Tuesday Open Thread |Brazen in your face segregation at Trump Rally

OMG! Sweet Jesus! I can’t believe what I just saw. Black woman with tickets denied entry. White guy admitted he was a protester allowed in. We’ve witnessed overt racism from Donald Trump, his supporters yelling…”go back to Africa”. The hate is real. Welcome to the new Jim Crow.

This is sooo scary, people. It’s not safe for black people in this country.

So THRISTY BOY RUBIO gone BYE BYE!

Trump’s winning the KLAN VOTES & Hillster is winning the working class whites and negroes

Kasich is hanging on by a thread for winning O-HI-O.

    • Liza says:

Yeah, I guess the Democrats in Ohio decided that NAFTA, mass incarceration, and Bill’s welfare reform really weren’t that bad. Hillary is going to pick up where PBO left off. Ha, they may have a very rude awakening ahead of them.

  3. I can’t tolerate Hillary’s voice. It’s very annoying.

  4. Liza, I’m depressed.

    • Liza says:

Yeah, I’ve read the projections for Hillary. I do not understand this, I honestly don’t. She is a horrible candidate and she will be a horrible president, assuming she can get elected and there is no guarantee. What are people thinking? God help us. And then there’s Trump.

      • Looks like black people are going to have to leave this country if Trump wins.

      • Liza says:

And if Hillary wins they will have to wait at least another four years for criminal justice reform. It will be four years of stagnation and lack of accomplishment, just like all her other jobs. With any luck, she will be one term only if elected.

Trump, he’s just a nightmare. Imagine the worst and he will exceed it.

    • Liza says:

Well, keep in mind that Florida has a closed primary so only registered Republicans can vote. That makes this look better than it actually is.

      • Liza says:

Meant to say it makes Trump look better to win a closed primary. I just checked this and Florida has about 3.2 million independent and unaffiliated registered voters who were not able to vote in the primary.

      • Liza says:

Oh, yeah. Same goes for Hillary.

Closed primaries are just stupid. Why not let everyone vote?

  5. Liza says:

Well, another one bites the dust, clearing the way for Trump. But if Rubio couldn’t win his own state then that means something, I suppose.

  6. wolfblitzer sounds giddy about Trump winning.

    • Liza says:

No surprise. Florida is part of the Confederacy. Trump winning Florida is a disappointment but I expected that too.

Students Are Being Rejected From The Polls Because Of North Carolina’s Voter ID Law
    BY KIRA LERNER
    MAR 15, 2016 11:42 AM

North Carolina’s controversial voter identification law is being used for the first time in Tuesday’s primary, and registered voters are experiencing the consequences of the voter suppression measure.

About 218,000 North Carolinians, roughly five percent of registered voters, do not have an acceptable form of government-issued ID that is now required under state law to cast a ballot.
Early voting offered a glimpse of the problems that will arise on Tuesday — during the past ten days of early voting, many college students were blocked from the polls. North Carolina’s WRAL reported that 864 people across the state had cast provisional early ballots because they did not have acceptable forms of ID, and four of the five counties with the highest concentrations of provisional ballots from voters without ID were in places with college campuses.

Bill Clinton campaigned on Chicago’s South Side for Hillary to talk to voters as they cast their ballots. WTFF? It seems everytime Hillary is down in the polls Bill Clinton shows up at a polling station. He did it in MA & now in Chicago. GOT DAMMIT!

Laws on Campaigning at Polling Booths
      By Angus Koolbreeze
      eHow Contributor

      Illinois

According to the Illinois Voting Statutes, it is against the law to engage in electioneering on Election Day in a campaign-free zone. Campaign officials place cones within 100 horizontal feet of any building that serves as a polling place. Beyond this point, you may distribute buttons, pamphlets or fliers — even on Election Day

    TELL.IT.MR.PRESIDENT

    • Ametia says:

      President Obama:

“I know I’m not the only one in this room who may be more than a little dismayed about what’s happening on the campaign trail lately.”

“We have heard vulgar and divisive rhetoric aimed at women and minorities, at Americans who don’t look like us or pray like us or vote like we do.”

“We’ve seen misguided attempts to shut down that speech. However offensive it may be, we live in a country where free speech is one of the most important rights we hold. In response to those attempts we’ve seen actual violence. And we’ve heard silence from too many of our leaders.”

“We can treat one another as patriots, even if we disagree. We can condone this race to the bottom or accept it as the way things are, and sink further.”

      • Liza says:

“And we’ve heard silence from too many of our leaders.” Isn’t that always the case? So many of our so-called leaders are nothing but cowards, terrified to speak up and take a position for fear that the next head on the chopping block will be their own.

      • Ametia says:

These very COWARDS actually BLAME POTUS for the racist hate and bigotry that has spilled over in this country, since he was elected.

So it’s only natural that the COWARDS are waiting with bated breath for PBO to speak out about it.

      • Liza says:

Well, that’s another characteristic of cowardice, to blame others for one’s lack of courage. Blaming PBO for the racist hate and bigotry in this country is so ludicrous that I can’t even speak to it. I witnessed this very same racist hate and bigotry in the Jim Crow south before PBO was born. It hasn’t changed, it was passed down to the next generations.

      • Liza says:

As a kind of rhetorical question, I would ask “ordinary” folks if they have any guess as to where these Trump supporters would draw the line. Would a lynching be too much for them? How far back would they be willing to go to give white supremacy a few extra gasps before it is gone forever?

And whose fault is this? I would say it feeds on itself. Get them all in a room, get them kind of semi-organized, present them with a “leader” and you’ve got yourself a Klan rally.
