      David Maraniss is also the same guy who sought out every last fling from the married President’s past, including girlfriends from his teenage years….including the disturbed and warped ones amongst them who are now looking to turn over their correspondences and ‘mementoes’ from their flings with the now married President, to the Library of Congress…

      Imagine if all our flings and boyfriends from our past – including those from when we were teenagers or starting off as adults – imagine if those now blurry ghosts from our silly early adulthood pasts, unilaterally chose to publish today, letters and cards we wrote way back then…or we decided to regale the world with tales of our encounters with old boyfriends, knowing full well that those old boyfriends and flings of yore, are now long married with families of their own and lives that have nothing to do with us …and old memories from childish and fleeting moments long replaced…

      There were also the ones who turned over their diaries from those years ago when the now President was a 21 year old still trying to find his way in New York and in the world…

      The diaries of an older 25 year old woman with issues of her own, kept during a fleeting relationship with someone barely a man yet – and still trying to find himself…Mr. Maraniss then gratuitously excerpted said diary…shower scenes and all…to promote and sell a book about the married President and father, that was supposed to influence the 2012 re-elections…by casting aspersions, discrediting and pointing out that the President’s book Dreams From My Father, was riddled with lies, half-truths and exaggerations…’composite girlfriends’ and ‘events that never happened’…

      At some point we need to stop praising devious folks – no matter that when it suits their purposes, they say something ‘positive’ …after all their attempts at stirring the pot with their own copious amounts of messiness…

    GOP Clerk Who Wiped Thousands Off NY Voter Rolls Suspended Without Pay

    It looks like some chickens are coming home to roost in the mysterious case of the purged voter registrations in New York.

    Republican clerk Diane Haslett-Rudiano has been suspended without pay “pending an internal investigation into the administration of the voter rolls in the Borough of Brooklyn,” according to Telesur TV.

    The board may fire her as soon as Tuesday, and the New York Daily News reported that colleagues said she is being “forced out.”

    “Why is it alleged that 125,000 people have been removed from the voter rolls? Why did 60,000 people receive notices to vote that didn’t have the primary date? Why were people told they were in the wrong polling place time and time again?” New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer told CBS 2. “The next president of the United States could very easily be decided tonight and yet the incompetence of the Board of Elections puts a cloud over these results.”

    The New York Attorney General said he received over 1,000 voter complaints, compared to 150 complaints in 2012. Haslett-Rudiano is thought to have skipped a step in a regular protocol of updating the voter list with deaths and changes of address.

    The error resulted in nearly 8 percent of Brooklyn’s registered voters being denied their ballot.

      At some point we have to admit that for all the talk of oppression, we are oftentimes our own worst enemies…

      We can choose to attribute some of it to a version of being overwhelmed by a colonial mentality that has over time instilled a certain and hard to shake mindset – and an inferiority complex that insists that the whiter the better…or for that matter, we can blame a terrible affliction of some version of Stockholm Syndrome…

      But we can also honestly agree that some of our folks are as blind, fickle and as dumb as sh*t..

      Nina Turner represents that very important story of black women seen and valued only as desperate mules for white folks …gofers for white women and their ‘feminist’ movement…a story yet to be honestly told…

      Nina Turner’s bold and courageous extrication from, and removal of herself from the sham set-up… and that feminist scam being run and perpetuated as something done on behalf of all women — that false trope of women for women…but not really….

      Nina’s story will finally tell the truth about the exclusion of black women – and more importantly, the attempts to confuse and strong-arm black women through exploitation and threats …and only to advance the agenda of white feminists specifically..for black women to exist entirely only to assist in the various coronation plans white women have for themselves…This is in no way has been – and still isn’t about a sisterhood..

      Not to say that there aren’t those black women who’ve fallen prey…or those who with their eyes wide open, have self-servingly and greedily, opted to play along in return for personal reward and that all important pat on the back from the self-styled superior ones…

    Obama’s dance partner is persona non grata in D.C. government

    Virginia McLaurin, who recently turned 107, was still basking in the glow of her dance with President Obama in February. A White House video of the meeting has been viewed nearly 66 million times. The attention has resulted in invitations to New York and Los Angeles for media interviews.

    To board an airplane, however, McLaurin needs to replace a long-lost government-issued photo ID.

    To get a D.C. Department of Motor Vehicles non-drivers’ photo ID, she needs a birth certificate from South Carolina, where she was born. To get the birth certificate, she needs the photo ID. A classic bureaucratic Catch-22.

    “I don’t think I’ll ever get that face card,” McLaurin told me during a recent visit to her apartment in Northwest Washington. “I was birthed by a midwife and the birthday put in a Bible somewhere. I don’t know if they even had birth certificates back then.”

    But roughly 30 states have adopted an array of restrictive voter ID laws, and elderly citizens who live in those states seemed particularly at risk of having their rights denied.

    “I’d pray long and hard to my God if they ever tried to do something like that to me,” McLaurin said, her voice rising in righteous indignation. So much for my notion of the bright side.

    In Asheville, N.C., a state DMV office denied 86-year-old Reba Miller Bowser a photo ID in February even though she had a birth certificate, Social Security card, a Medicare card, cable bill and apartment lease.

    The reason given: Bowser needed a document that showed she had legally changed her maiden name to her married name.

    The absolutely incredible blue city that came straight out of a dream

    Tucked in the north of Morocco, there is a small town called Chefchaouen. This unusual place can be safely called a ’blue dream,’ since the old part of it is filled with buildings painted in all shades of blue — from baby blue to aquamarine.
    This unusual coloring was introduced by Jewish refugees, who believed that the more you look at anything blue, the more often you think about heaven and God. The tradition caught on, becoming a signature feature of the old part of town.

    Syria conflict: Obama rules out ground troops for Syria

    President Barack Obama has ruled out deploying US ground troops in Syria and says military efforts alone cannot solve the country’s problems. “It would be a mistake for the United States, or Great Britain… to send in ground troops and overthrow the Assad regime,” he told the BBC.

    He also said he did not think so-called Islamic State would be defeated in his last nine months of office. But he said: “We can slowly shrink the environment in which they operate.”

    Mr Obama, who has been on a three-day visit to the UK, also warned that Britain could take up to 10 years to negotiate trade deals with the US if it votes to leave the EU in a June referendum.

    Mr Obama told the BBC that Syria was a “heart-breaking situation of enormous complexity”.

    “I don’t think there are any simple solutions,” he said. “In order for us to solve the long-term problems in Syria, a military solution alone – and certainly us deploying ground troops – is not going to bring that about.”

    Listening to Obama makes me want to be American for a day

    One university summer, I was thrilled to get an internship on Capitol Hill. It was way back in the early Dubya years. I was interning in a Democrat office full of liberal staffers from Massachusetts and everyone was obsessed with The West Wing. “President Bartlet is my President” T-shirts were all the rage and the hottest office gossip was whether the fictional president would re-run despite just having announced to the country that he had MS.

    I loved The West Wing then and having just finished a mammoth rewatch of all seven series, I still love it. What is so brilliant about the show? It wasn’t just the liberal fantasy policies – the Israel-Palestine peace agreement, social security reform, tax-deductible college tuition. It was also the way President Josiah Bartlet (as played by Martin Sheen) practised politics: he was not always perfect; sometimes disappointing his staff; sometimes making the wrong call – but somehow managing to combine a scary intellectualism with deeply held values and a warmth and ability to connect with people. He was a character who inspired a small group of staff, then his party, then a nation to back him against the odds.

    Easy (or at least easier) to script for a TV programme, much harder to pull off in the real world. I remember having conversations round the Congressional water cooler that went along the lines of: “Yeah, but you’d never actually get a guy like that as president of the United States.”

    But watching Barack Obama charm his way into our hearts here in Britain has reminded me of how brilliant he is at – well, just talking to people. Whether addressing a nation on TV, getting a grilling from journalists or rolling up his sleeves and taking a Q&A in a roomful of young people, he knows how to connect in a way no other present-day politician can.

    McConnell tries to rally GOP without mentioning Republicans

    Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is urging Republican delegates to focus on a single politician: Barack Obama.

    McConnell focused nearly all of his speech during Saturday’s Kentucky Republican Convention on opposing the outgoing Democratic president. Not mentioned were any of the potential Republican alternatives, who are embroiled in a nasty fight over delegates heading into a possible chaotic national convention this summer.

    “What is the fundamental argument our nominee will make? I think it is pretty much like this: ‘If you are happy with where we are, if you think this is as good as America can do, then Hillary is your candidate. But if you think we can do better, by taking an entirely different path, you should be for me,'” McConnell said, speaking in the voice of the future GOP nominee without saying who that person would be.

    Struggling single mother jailed over accidental fire finds outpouring of help

    Jeannetta Maclin, 23, of St Louis, was at work trying to make ends meet when her children played with a lighter. When her neighbors learned the details of her case, they called for lenience from the court: ‘The system failed this mom’

    The scene that confronted firefighters was harrowing. Two young boys who had been left home alone and found a lighter to play with had accidentally set the apartment on fire and now were unconscious due to smoke inhalation.

    They managed to revive the children, and their mother was soon in jail, her police mugshot doing the rounds on local media in St Louis, Missouri, where the near-tragedy occurred in February.

    But then something unusual happened.

    When people in the city heard the young woman was a single mother, with no criminal record, who had left her sons at home in desperation so she could go to her low-paid job and make rent before the landlord evicted them, they took action.

    Thomas Payton, an emergency medical technician who was on duty at the hospital when the boys were brought in, was just one of a number of concerned citizens who went to court on her behalf and begged for leniency for the mother, Jeannetta Maclin, 23.

    “I told the judge I thought the system had failed this mom and I had come to plead for her, that she and her kids deserved a chance and this bad decision she had made should not be the one that defines the rest of her life,” Payton said.

    “They are stuck between a rock and a hard place and they need help, not punishment”

      DeRay should’ve have ASKED Nick Mosby. He lives, works, serves the citizens of Baltimore.

      How you gonna roll up in B-More City and think you’re going to become Mayor and not meet and speak with the folks who live, work, and serve there?

      His motives for wanting to run for mayor have always been suspect to me.

      The one thing I personally cannot tolerate is young folks who do not respect their elders, especially those who laid the foundation for Civil Rights, and who have remained steadfast in their actions.
