His name is Philando Castile. He was murdered by the police in Falcon Heights, Minnesota

Philando Castile was stopped for a “routine ” traffic stop.

AND NOW IS DEAD!!

Asked for his information,  he volunteered to his murderer that he had a weapon, because he had a  permit.

And yet, somehow,  even after offering that piece of information.

Mr. Castile is Dead.

Dead.

Dead.

Funny how all these conceal /carry laws don’t seem to apply to Black people.

We know about Mr. Castile  because his girlfriend was alert enough to video it on Facebook.

Let’s see what kind of lies his murderers come up with to try and slander Mr. Castile.

On Thursday, Facebook said a “technical glitch” caused the recording to be pulled from its social network. However, Reynolds claimed officers seized her phone and took over her Facebook account to delete the evidence.

Multiple sources with knowledge of the event have tonight confirmed to The Register that someone – highly suspected to be the city’s police – used her phone to remove her recording from public view shortly after the shooting. This was no technical glitch.

Black deaths, police brutality, caught on video: No justice, only sequels

    SNIP

The legacy of the Rodney King video was not justice, but sequels.

Mr. Sterling died at 37. Mr. Castile died days before his 33rd birthday. They left behind children, parents, and friends. They were men who loved and were loved. Today their loved ones, in the midst of grief, are tasked with not only proving these men’s innocence, but vouching for their basic humanity. Advocates of Sterling and Castile will fight to put the officers who killed Sterling and Castile on trial, knowing Sterling and Castile were on trial their whole lives in the court of public opinion. Their very existence as black men is considered, in the eyes of many Americans, evidence of their guilt.

Police officials and media will publicize criminal records – as they already have for Mr. Sterling – to try to justify a killing that had nothing to do with his previous low-level offences. They will assassinate Mr. Castile’s character, as they consistently assassinate the character of even the youngest African-Americans – children like 12-year-old Tamir Rice, killed by a police officer while playing in a park.

They will do anything to make people turn away from the videos, the proof, the pain.

Sorry, but how exactly does Congressman Danny Davis who’s been in Congress for 20 long years by the way…how does Danny Davis reason that marching to the White House while the President is away in Poland help anything…

This is the type of rubbish that has aided inaction for all these years…

The Congressman and his colleagues have been very much part of the problem…

They need to do their job…

Picketing the White House while the President is out of the country isn’t part of it…and achieves nothing besides the photo-ops to keep him looking ‘engaged’ and good for another term …in the eyes of his constituents back home in Arkansas…

Enough of the cowardly theatrics and stagecraft…time for real action…

Yeah, I was thinking… I wonder what Mr. Castile felt about this country. He probably felt that he was doing well, he had a great job doing what he loved, he was appreciated and loved by his co-workers, the children and the parents, he had a pretty girlfriend and he had family… Things seem to have been going well for him until a cop murdered him.

Yeah, this is what I always refer to as getting catapulted into Emmett Till’s America. One minute you’re minding your own business, having a pretty good life, and then it happens. The killer chooses you because you’re there, and you’re black, and there is no other reason, just that he wanted to kill someone like you. There’s no warning except that it happens, the convergence of pure evil and innocence. No one can be on guard 24/7.

UPDATED DEAR WHITE AMERICA – AN OPEN LETTER

    July 7, 2016
Dear United States, YOUR Police System and those who are not Black in America,

I came home today once again to tell my 13 year old black son about yet another death by the hands of the cops – another death of another black person. I could barely get the words out without crying but this couldn’t be sugar coated from him like I normally sweeten other information I feed him. So, let me tell you what a black single mother had to tell her son today or pretty much every time the need strikes, which is often. I had to tell my 13 year old young black son how to not get killed in these streets by those sent out to protect us.

The first thing is the reminder that although he has white friends, he needs to remember that: “You are not your white friends!!! If you are with them and you all get stopped by the cops for any reason know that you are not them, you cannot say what they say or act how they act. There is a high chance the police may single you out as the trouble maker whether you had anything to do with it so be prepared. Remember to keep your hands out of your pockets; if you are holding your phone drop it and put your hands up or out in front of you where they can be visibly seen free of anything by the cops. If they ask you any questions, answer them with a calm voice, NEVER yell. Tell them your name, age, address, mother’s name and phone number. Know that you are under the age of 16 which means you are not to be questioned without a legal guardian so with that knowledge, give them your mother’s name and phone number again. If they feel the need to pat you down, assume the position I’ve taught you and let them pat you down but be quiet while doing so. Once they have met their goal of whatever the hell it was, if you are not arrested you wait until they have left the area completely then call me. If they arrest you, put your hands up in the air to signal your surrender then let them guide your hands into the cuffs and put you into the police car. You are to remain silent the entire ride to the station – don’t even be angry because there is no need for it especially if you are innocent. Once in the station you give them your mother’s name and number again and inform them that at your age you cannot be questioned without a guardian and/or legal representation. No matter what lies they fill your head with to scare you, know that none of their lies are above the law and the law is what I’ve taught you so do not fear their lies instead give them your mother’s name and phone number again and tell them that once a guardian is present you will answer any and all questions.

After I drill that process into his head we go over him not trying to be a hero when it comes to his other black friends.

    …………………………………………………………………………………………………

Today I showed him the murder of Alton Sterling. Why? Because I normally hide these images and things from him, I only tell him what happens because we do not watch the news or have regular TV access, we only stream but today I needed him to see what I’ve been telling him about for once so that he truly understands that the rules I lay upon him are not to scare him but to protect him from being an Alton Sterling, or a Tamir Rice; a young boy whose death haunts me every time I think about him. He knows that these things may never come his way but if they do, he is prepared.

    • eliihass says:

This video clip is for me, almost as pertinent and damning a capture of the callous inhumanity that not only cold-bloodedly, dismissively, cavalierly, murderously disposes of …and where ‘fortunate’ or ‘benevolent’…only just only devalues black lives…

This video clip captures the core…the basis of my rage…

It captures the inhumanity…the heartlessness that invariably leads to the callous disposal of black lives…

It is the refusal to see black folks…

It is the callous detachment that even in the midst of death, murder…’unintentional’ tragedies by any name – no matter how ‘accidental’ or resulting from a ‘lack of training’, ‘fear’ – or any number of justifications offered up to excuse away or cover up for police whenever they murder innocent black folks in cold-blood …for no reason other than the color of their skin…

It is the callous refusal to see black people… to feel the pain, hurt, devastation, vulnerabilities …even in the midst of trauma and loss…of a black child…a black woman…

It is the callousness that prevents men who when in or out of uniform, would probably be quickly described by somebody as ‘good’, ‘God-fearing’, ‘family’ men…a callousness, complete detachment and absence of humanity that prevents these men in uniform who also are probably husbands, fathers, sons, brothers, nephews, uncles, cousins, friends….from humanely and instinctively reaching out to protect and comfort a scared and vulnerable child…and an obviously shaken and traumatized woman…

      But no…

The same guys who when in and out of uniform value infinitely more the lives of the dogs in their K-9 units…and feel more a tinge of humanity for – and were probably disgusted at the loss of Cecil the Lion and Harambe the gorilla…are unable to feel any humanity – or spare a thought for…spontaneously set aside for even a moment – in the face of ‘unintended’ tragedy and obvious trauma – their ‘work’ stance and artificial ‘protocols’… to do the right thing by and for a harmless little black toddler…and her innocent distraught mother handcuffed for no reason minutes after her companion has been all in a flash, murdered in cold-blood during a routine traffic stop on an ordinary day..

It is that inability to see the humanity of a little black baby girl and her devastated black mother…the young black woman…lover, partner of the young innocent black man – that one of their own just murdered for no reason…It is that inability of their humanity to naturally and instinctively kick in …to empathize, sympathize….to embrace and instinctively reach out to protect the vulnerable black child and mother…to see them through humane eyes…to immediately seek to comfort them in a traumatic situation..

This is it right here before our eyes…this is where it all stems from…this is what’s telling…this is at the heart and lack thereof of the matter…this is a sampling…a capture of the inhumanity that drives the callous, unfeeling, inhumane response where even a black child, black woman…resides…It is that mindset that says a little black baby girl isn’t seen as innocent…and a black woman isn’t seen as vulnerable, or worthy of protection and chivalry…It is a mindset that completely devalues – and without any qualms or apologies …easily disposes of, and does away with any black life..

It isn’t just a matter of laws – though the thought of inconveniencing the more valuable and cush lives of other non-black folks in any way…that just might force changes…

But it is also the fact that even the ‘good’ Democratic Governor of Minnesota – just like his counterparts in Louisiana, Missouri, Florida, South Carolina, California…and any number of Democratic and Republican Governors and Attorney Generals…It is the fact that they hold black folks – consciously and unconsciously – with the very same sense of contempt…that they do not see black lives as valuable…that even where they themselves are black…that this society has conditioned them to view black lives as infinitely less valuable…just as they are unconsciously conditioned not to see a fully black child as ‘cute’…or a fully black woman as ‘desirable’…or worthy of respect and chivalry…

The hostile condescension of the ‘good’ Democratic Governor of Minnesota towards the Black Lives Matter movement last December – and his condescending smirk as he scoffed at the young Somali-American woman Stacey Rosana as she engaged Hillary Clinton who he accompanied on a campaign stop at a coffee shop in Minneapolis in March of this year…tells you all you need to know…

That condescension and dismissive and ‘marginally contained’ hostility – and that superior sense of how dare you lowly creature ….comes from the very same place…It is that mindset that easily disposes with those not deemed ‘valuable’ or worthy…

Sorry I haven’t been around these past days fam…sometimes when rage engulfs and overcomes ones spirit, it is best to step away …As wonderful and embracing and accommodating as our 3Chics owners are, it is still unfair to hijack and litter their space with ones uncontained anger…but tonight I have cried enough tears of fury and frustration…I wanted to come out of my isolation to let you know that I am still very much with you my fam..

Although the demand for answers is only getting louder, the identity of the officer who fatally shot Castile isn’t likely to be released anytime soon.

According to CheckthePolice.org, a website that examines the language in police union contracts and interprets how the included protections make it more difficult to expose misconduct, Minnesota state law includes a police bill of rights, which contains a section that prohibits the release of an officer’s identity to the public without consent.

Y’all, it’s time for President Obama to step up. AG Loretta Lynch reports to him. He needs to address this today.

    • Liza says:

I just read his statement. It’s not what I was looking for. He might be encouraged by the umpteenth investigation but I’m not, not even slightly. Investigations of murders are best when they lead to indictments, and that is not happening.

AG Loretta Lynch reports to PBO.

And now Hillary is next in line. Remember Bill’s AG, Janet Reno?

    • Liza says:

What do y’all figure the political calculation is here? Well, the Democrats are gearing up to nominate Hillary, Hillary must defeat Trump the Monster to save the nation (a good candidate would have no problem), the votes of white independents might be lost if the cops are called out, and lastly, black folks are a FIREWALL, they will vote for Hillary no matter what. So, open a federal investigation, say a few words to reassure black folks without getting the police too upset.

This can’t possibly be working. Folks should be at their wits end about now.

    • Liza says:

PBO, the “underlying fissures” that lead to these incidents are out-of-control, gun happy racist cops and/or cops who are terrified of the people they serve. Either way, these people should not be cops. You can “train” them in “community policing” until there is a cool, rainy day in Hell, and it will make no difference whatsoever. As far as “implementing ideas that make a difference” how about some arrests, indictments, trials, and convictions by the Department of Justice?

Stop using the myth that guns are why cops feel unsafe. They are terrified of black men first, black women second. They face angry, belligerent, murderous white men without fear and arrest them. They MURDER black people within seconds based on feeling “fear”.

It feels that this will never end, like no one values us. This is why Black Lives Matter and we need to change these bullshit laws that allow the police to kill us when the ‘feel’ their lives are in danger. We feel our lives are in danger ever time we encounter the police, and our fear is valid, why does that count for nothing? They keep passing these open and concealed carry laws and yet every time we are seen carrying someone calls in that a black person has a gun and we end up dead. Why don’t they just go ahead a write it into the laws, these gun laws are for white people not for you.

He’s licensed. He carries, so he’s licensed to carry. He was trying to get out his ID and his wallet out of his pocket. And, he let the officer know that he had a firearm. He was reaching for his wallet, and the officer shot him in his arm. We’re waiting for a back-up.

OFFICER (who is still holding gun on her boyfriend, Philado): Keep your hands where

LAVISHA: I will, sir, no worries. I will.

      OFFICER: Fuck!!! (deep emotional breathing)

LAVISHA: We got pulled over on Larpender(?)

OFFICER (emotionally shouting) : I told him not to reach for it. I told him to get his (hand?) open.

LAVISHA: You told him to get his ID, sir, and his driver’s license. Oh my God, please don’t tell me he’s dead. Please don’t tell me my boyfriend just went like that.

OFFICER: Keep your hands where they are please.

LAVISHA: Yes, I will sir. I’ll keep my hands where they are. Please don’t tell me this Lord. Please Jesus don’t tell me that he’s gone. Please don’t tell me that he’s gone. Please, Officer, don’t tell me that you just did this to him. You shot four bullets into him, sir. He was just getting his license and registration, sir.

OFFICER to officers heard in background: Get the female passenger out.

2nd Officer: Get out of the car now with your hands up. Let me see your hands. Exit now (she opens the door) Keep them up. Keep them up.

LAVISHA: Where’s my daughter? (As Lavisha backs up toward officer holding gun, you can see another officer behind him…clearly later at timestamp 1:38… holding her daughter.) My daughter…

2nd officer: Face away from me. Walk backwards. Walk backwards towards me. Keep walking (2 officers have their guns on her.) Keep walking. Keep walking. Keep walking. (officer puts gun in holster) Get on your knees. On your knees.

This is too much. My heart aches for Lavisha Reynolds who with amazing controlled calm live streamed on her Facebook page the aftermath of a police officer’s shooting of her boyfriend.

Reynolds: We’re in the back seat of the police car. [inaudible] call me the police just shot my boyfriend for no apparent reason. My phone is about to die. They shot him. He shot him three times because we had a busted tail light. He asked him for license and registration he told him that it was in his wallet but he had a pistol on him because he’s licensed to carry and the officer told him don’t move and as he was putting his hands back up the officer shot him in his arm about four or five times. I’m on Larpenteur and Fry. Whoever can come to Larpenteur and Fry that’s where I’m at. I’m gonna need a ride home. We’re on Larpenteur and Fry. [inaudible] if you can come to Larpenteur and Fry we’re right here in Roseville. Got the Roseville Police they got me handcuffed, my phone is about to die. I’m on Larpenteur and Fry and the Roseville Police Department just shot my boyfriend. They shot him four times. He’s licensed to carry. We had a busted tail light. And we had some weed in the car that’s about it.

It was a Chinese police officer that shot him. He’s Chinese he’s about 5.5, 5.6-1/2, heavy set guy. He asked him for his license and registration which was in the back of his pocket because he keeps his wallet in his pocket. And as he went to reach he let the officer know before he was reaching that he had a firearm on him and before he can let the officer know anything the officer took off shots. About 4 or 5 rounds were shot and my boyfriend I don’t know what condition he’s in. I don’t know if he’s OK or if he’s not OK. I’m in the back seat of the police car, in the back seat of the police car handcuffed. I need a ride. I’m on Larpenteur and Fry they’ve got machine guns pointed.

That’s the police officer over there that did it with the black on. I can’t really do shit because they have me handcuffed.
