10 THOUGHTS ABOUT THE MALIA OBAMA LOLLAPALOOZA NON-STORY STORY

I can’t imagine growing up in the spotlight the way that Malia and Sasha Obama have. We’ve seen more discussions about their facial expressions and decorum at events than you can shake a stick at. And because of this, I’m sure they get “the talk” from their mama, ALL THE TIME before major events. “Make sure you stay composed because the world is looking at you.” That seems like it would be grating and annoying, especially when you’re 10 and 8, but even more so when you’re 18 and 16 and lookin’ to rock out with your *CENSORED*. Microscope livin’ must suck when you really just want to listen to Joey Bada$$ and rock Pro Era gear.

To that end, it is part of the gig. While President Obama is the President, the rest of the family is in office, too. And because so many people seem to viscerally detest our President, that means that everything the family does becomes some non-sensical race to the bottom of human decency. Michelle Obama wears her arms out? That’s not first lady-like. Malia Obama misses the DNC to ham it up at Lollapalooza? What a waste of taxpayer dollars! So seeing her turn up at Lollapalooza, pulling up her skirt or shorts and doing some dance-like thing was going to be scrutinized by Black folks who think she should be more reserved and white folks who think she should be more reserved and white. Thing is, ants gon’ ant, people gon’ people, and niggas gon’ nig. J. Cole already went platinum with no features so she might as well enjoy the fuck out of being 18 and finished with high school. Shoot your shot, Malia.

Also, practice your shot, Malia. The thing that stood out to me most about the video was just how, and I mean no offense – I promise, rhythm-less she looked. Please don’t call what she was doing twerking. It was not. I won’t say she can’t dance as I have no clue; she might be Janet Jackson in 1991 when nobody is watching. But I’m surprised that she got caught on video looking like she can’t dance. Listen, I’m not famous. But I’ll be damned if you gon’ catch me at a concert attempting to dance and failing. Naw, you gon’ see me bringing the pain. Y’all can say I can’t write all you want, but what you not gon’ do is come for my rhythm. And I’m just gonna say it, her rhythm left the venue that day.

TV ONE ANNOUNCES ‘MEDIA’ – ORIGINAL NEW MOVIE EXEC PRODUCED BY RADIO ONE FOUNDER CATHY HUGHES
    AUGUST 1, 2016

TV One has announced a new original movie titled “Media,” which is also acting as a backdoor pilot to a potential series that will explore the drama and secrets behind a powerful family dynasty.

The executive producing team of Cathy Hughes and her production partner Susan Banks conceived and produced the project.

Directed by Craig Ross, Jr., “Media” is described as a riveting story of a wealthy family battling the competitive challenges of keeping their status and position in the communications industry. Passion, intrigue and murder become a lethal recipe for powerful matriarch Jackie Jones and her children. Portrayed by Penny Johnson Jerald, Jackie is the founder of Jones Universal Media Properties, known as JUMP, the world’s premier urban media conglomerate. A family tragedy forces her son, prominent lead city attorney and prosecutor Michael Jones, played by Brian White, to abandon his political aspirations and take over the company, just as a ruthless rival challenges JUMP’s longtime domination of a lucrative industry. Michael is confronted by sins of the past, and the dangers of the present when Jabbar Randolph (played by Gary Dourdan), CEO of JUMP’s biggest competitor, is released from prison. Grabbing back the reigns from his brother, Will, played by Stephen Bishop, Jabbar embarks on a mission of revenge, betrayal and corporate intrigue.

Pastor suspects racial motivations behind termination
    Tue 2:33 PM, Aug 02, 2016

BUTLER, Ala. (WTOK) – Mt. Sterling Baptist Church is without pastor as of Sunday evening. Pastor Jonathan Greer’s termination was put to a vote.

Thirty-one people unanimously voted him out of the church. This comes after he says a deacon told him that he could not invite black people to their Vacation Bible School.

“There was pushback about where the types of children we were bringing in, and I was asked to not invite black children to VBS,” said Pastor Greer.

Freddie Moore, who is a deacon at Mt. Sterling Baptist Church, did not want to do an on-camera interview. He says it’s not a race issue whatsoever. Moore says Greer wouldn’t work with the deacons. He claims the termination was because Greer would not visit members of the congregation; Moore says Greer only visited a few.

“This was a particular deacon that asked me, and ultimately, two deacons that had asked me not to invite black people,” Greer says.

I was Capt. Khan’s commander in Iraq. The Khan family is our family.

I am a former soldier who served our nation in uniform for more than 34 years. I was also Capt. Humayun Khan’s combat brigade commander in Diyala province, Iraq, in 2004. I came to know Humayun after taking command of the 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, in Germany in 2002. The motto of our unit was “No mission too difficult. No sacrifice too great. Duty First!” Humayun was a wonderful person, liked and respected by all who knew him. I used to joke with him about the tank platoon he once led, which I had led 20 years earlier. I often told him that we were kindred spirits. I remember clearly the day he died.

…Humayun’s death caused sadness throughout our entire brigade combat team. There were three different memorial services for him — one with our soldiers at Camp Warhorse, a second with our rear detachment and family members at our home base in Vilseck, Germany, and a third with the Khan family in United States. We named the 201st Battalion headquarters building on Camp Warhorse the Khan Building in his honor…

Ok…so Marc Lamont Hill was on the Breakfast Club this morning. He was talking his new show and his book or whatever.

But the most interesting thing I heard before going into work, was when he was talking a bit about his time at Fox News. First off, he said he was fired…and he said Fox News is like the WWE to real wrestling…it’s all about the show.

Then he talked about the day of the 08 election, when he walked into Fox News HQ and they told him to go up to the executive floor. There he said was Ailes, on camera personalities (like Sean Hannity) etc. He said, it was a somber mood and he expected to hear somebody got shot or something. But then somebody said “he’s gonna win” and they were all in a piss about it…according to Hill, Sean Hannity even said “I did everything I could to stop it” but Obama was gonna win anyway.

Then he said, Ailes (he believes) perked up a bit and essentially said, “that’s ok, we are gonna make his life a living hell for the next 4 years, and make ALOT of money doing it too”

    Now ain’t that about a bitch…

    “I’m not Voting for Clinton.
It has nothing to do with her views. It really doesn’t even matter about all the laws she broke.
It’s because She actually talked to me once. Almost a sentence. But first, some background.
Being a K9 handler in the Military I got to do a few details involving Distinguished Visitors. Mostly Generals, DOD Officials, and Secretaries of Defense. I was lucky enough to pull two awesome details. George W Bush, and Obama.
GW looked at me, said “Man, who’d you piss off” high fived me, and continued on. I was climbing down from a catwalk I stood on for 4 hours with nothing but Dust and a radio to keep me company. The radio died early on. It was pretty sweet.
Obama, as he was walking out to his plane in Turkey, said “What the hell kind of dog is that?!” In reference to Suli.
One of my Last details was for Hillary when she was Secretary of State. She was in Turkey for whatever reason. I helped with sweeps of her DV Quarters and staff vehicles. Her words to me? “Get that Fucking dog away from me.” Then she turns to her Security Detail and berates them up and down about why that animal was in her quarters. For the next 20 minutes while I sit there waiting to be released she lays into her detail, slamming the door in their faces when she’s done. The Detail lead walks over apologizes and releases me. I apologize to him for getting him in trouble. His words “Happens every day, Brother”
Hillary doesn’t care about anyone but Hillary.”

  11. Liza, where you at? I smell fish and it ain’t Fiday. This whole thing was a set up to make Hillary the nominee…except she was expecting Bernie to do so well.

I’ve been thinking and even saying that the Clintons & Trumps are in cahoots. Nothing surprises me, when it comes to either of these families.

    • Liza says:

Yeah, I agree with Ametia. Absolutely anything could happen and it wouldn’t be too schocking.

I don’t know if the Clintons planned this with Trump, but I just don’t believe they are good enough collaborators to have pulled it off. In the beginning, even Nate Silver didn’t think Trump would win the nomination. And I don’t think that the Clintons or Trump thought it was a sure thing when he announced his candidacy. The Clintons thought Bernie was a joke and look what happened. I could be wrong, of course.

Trump’s campaign later denied this, but remember that story in the media a couple of weeks ago about John Kasich being offered VP but Kasich refused? And they reportedly told Kasich he would be running the country? I thought the story sounded very credible.
I’ve always had doubts that Trump really wants to be president. The work is too hard and the pay is too low. And at some level I’m sure he understands he can’t do the things he has talked up such as deporting 11 million undocumented immigrants, building a wall, and so forth.

Yet, Trump has pursued this as though he wants it. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
